Today Baba rewarded a devotee instantly. It so happened that 2
lady devotees hired a three wheeler from Lajpat Ngr at about 10 AM
for Sidhartha Extension. They got dropped at Gurudwara Baba Sahib,
as it was only 10:15. After visiting the Gurudwara they simply
walked down to our house, as it is nearby. At about 10:45 A
scooter wala came along with our socity Chokidar and enquired about
the two ladies who have come from Lajpat Ngr. I enquire from the
gathering inside the hall and these two ladies came out. They had
forgotten a bag in the scooter and were praying to Baba, to get the
bag returned. The Scooter wala gave them the bag, He spent so much
area looking for them and atlast the bag was returned to them .
This, they narrated only after they got the bag.
Today Mrs. gupta had not started Sri Sai
Satcharitra as we are going to Chardigarh and next Sai Amrit Vani
will be held there. Every week Prayan of only one chapter was done
every Thursday. Next cycle of Prayan of Sai Satcharitra will start
from 20th Sept 2007. Devotees may follow with us in this regard and
they also read the same chapter on Thursday along with recitation
of Sri Sai Amrit Vani and have the blessings of Baba.
Following devotees participated in absencia in the recitation of
Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers to Baba (Shirdi) and Prayan of
Sri Sai Satcharitra by reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places
on 30th August 2007 (The list is sorted as per their email ids, to
avoid duplications) . However Mrs. Gupta prayed for all the devotees.
In this list only those devotees are included, who themselves
recited or read Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places.
Please give the names separately along with the place
(i) Who will recite/read/ listen Sri Sai Amrit Vani and

MENTIONED THAT SO AND SO WILL READ/RECITE OR LISTEN SRI SAI AMRIT
VANI OR YOU HAVE NOT MENTIONED THE PLACE.
This Thursday the 6th Sept. we enjoyed the following Leelas of Baba
(of Shirdi). It may seems to be repitative for the old members,
but when the Leela are repetative, so the discription is also
repitative. Every week many new members join the group, so I
have to repeat the whole events that happen on this day.
1. On Tuesday, as it was Krishan Astmi and Baba blessed with Udi
from almost all the photos and from statue in good quantity.
2. On Wednesday again Udi started oozing from the two photos on
the wall and Hindi words `RAM' `SHAM' and `OM', and figure of
Trishool were formed with Udi on one photo. Udi also started
oozing from the main photo in the mandir. `RAM' `SHAM' and `OM'
along with other figures were also formed on the photo. From
Statue also, Udi started oozing from Wednesday.
3. There was lot of Water from the Charans this week also. Thali
was emptied several times and one time it even over flowed. The taste
of water was similar to gulab jal and kewara mix. After distribution
of Prasad, this water was also given to the devotees and again the
Thali was filled with water. Devotees bring bottles to take the
water home.
4. Lap of Mrs. Gupta was filled with Udi during the prayers.
5. Several devotees had Udi in the books of Sri Sai Amrit Vani.
6. On Thursday as soon as Bhog was offered, it was duly accepted
by Baba and after the Sri Sai Amrit Vani we noticed that the box,
which was placed before HIM was partially eaten and partially
remained pieces of items in the box. Part of Bhog was on the lips of
many photos and statue of Baba. These parts of the remains in the box
were given to the devotees who offered that item of bhog to Baba.
Partly eaten remains were having some figures on them. Several items
were commen and parts of it were given to several other devotees.
7. Presence of Baba during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani,
Prayer and Prayan of Sri Satcharitra was very strong. Several
devotees felt the presence of Baba in different ways.
8. All the boxes of Bhog which were kept on the table were
blessed with Udi,
9. The Charnamrit, the water in which Baba took the bath in the
morning was also sweet as if some honey has been mixed into it.
10. Udi was there on the Documents, Photos of Baba, and also on
and inside of many Sai Satcharitras which were placed on the table
before Baba.
Jai Sai Ram

The Philosophy of Sai Baba of Shirdi: A Global Perspective by Sigamoney
The Philosophy of Sai Baba of Shirdi: A Global Perspective by Sigamoney
This essay attempts to reveal the possibilities of the philosophy of Sai Baba of Shirdi for resolutions of the problems faced by mankind internationally. In attempting to do so, the essay will focus on the following (i) provide some clarity on the philosophy, (ii) identify the problems and indicate how those problems could be resolved by the philosophy of Sai Baba.
PHILOSOPHY OF SAI BABA OF SHIRDI
The philosophy of Sai Baba of Shirdi is universal, based on love and is dedicated to service to all people of this world. Firstly, the universal nature incorporates all religious beliefs. That includes Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and every other religion. Secondly, the main thrust of the philosophy focusses relates to love. That love for humanity, love expressed in all relationships with one another is a central tenet of the philosophy of Sai Baba. Thirdly, service to humanity is a crucial aspect of living the above-mentioned philosophy. All these ingredients are pivotal for the future of an harmonious world, where all people are to be respected and are able to live their lives free of discrimination, poverty and exploitation.
IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEMS AND HOW THE PHILOSOPHY OF SAI BABA OF SHIRDI CAN BE A SOLUTION.
An assessment of the current conflicts in the world include the following categories: (i) religious conflict as is the case in Northern Ireland and Palestine/Israel, (ii) ethnic conflict in Yugoslavia, Nigeria and Rwanda, (iii) economic exploitation of third world countries and economic exploitation of people in third world situations in first world countries (iv) racial hatred for example, hatred of foreigners or black people in France, Germany, Britain and the United States.
The philosophy of Sai Baba of Shirdi can go a long way in resolving the above-mentioned problems. The major problem associated with religious conflict is a lack of tolerance for diversity and a difficulty with embracing difference. By understanding the importance of embracing all religions allows one to respect the rights of different ways in which people understand God. The universal symbolism projected by Sai Baba of Shirdi can help people to respect and celebrate diversity. This will help to resolve major conflicts in countries and allow people to concentrate on the focussing in the right way. The benefits of this will be enormous in the development of these countries.
Ethnic problems appear to be surfacing in many regions in the world. In many cases this has caused much harm, injury, death and poverty. The concept of love and the practice of love for humanity can assist in the attempt to eradicate hatred and mistrust of people with different ethnic backgrounds. The genocide during the holocaust in Germany, the murder of large numbers of Hutus in Rwanda and the killing fields of Yoguslavia could have been avoided if the concept of love was understood and practiced in these regions. This problem is also related to racial hatred as it occurs in most parts of the globe. Racism is not something that naturally occurs but it is taught to people. In fact racism, is about the most serious problem in the United States, United Kingdom, France and Germany. The only way one could eradicate racism is through love. This love has to be nurtured no matter how difficult it is. It has been proved in South Africa that black people, if given the opportunity can do as well as anyone else. The myth of blackness being assoicated with incompetence, crime and laziness has been proved wrong. The majority of people are socialised into thinking in these ways. Therefore, the only solution is love. Sai Baba speaks of loving all and serving all which brings me to my next point about economic exploitation.
Whilst it is important for people to progress, it is important that people do not progress at the expense of someone else. In many cases cheap labour is used as a basis to justify that those employed would have not obtained work elsewhere. Sai Baba speaks regularly of serva and serving all. Therefore the first step is to ensure that no one earns below the breadline. Those people in senior positions have the capacity to employ the poor, empower the poor and assist in the upliftment of the most downtrodden human beings.
What becomes quite clear from the above essay is that the philosophy of Sai Baba of Shirdi can go a long way in resolving the major problems that confronts world today. It is a matter of understanding and translating into action the philosophy. Finally, the simple rule is to love all, serve all and respect all and put that into practice in our daily living. - End

Satsang Dogma and Sai Grace By Dr. G. R. Vijayakumari
Satsang Dogma and Sai Grace By Dr. G. R. Vijayakumari
Dogma and Sai Grace
By Dr. G. R. Vijayakumari
What is Life?
A young married couple once had a sickly and feeble son who died one hour after birth. They put this inscription on his grave; "He was born........ Cried....... . And died".
This is what we do in the brief span of life allotted to us. We are born; cry and die, and none of this can be avoided, for we depend on God.
No Matter how great the trials that come into our lives, no matter what the problems are, we should remember that Shirdi Sai Baba is guarding us. We should not be surprised to encounter such things in the spiritual path. We should face them boldly, confident in the knowledge that Sai Grace is with us.
If we become absolutely pure, we can transform an enemy into a friend, by which we elevate ourselves as well as the other party. In such cases, we must love them with all our heart and treat them with kindness and live with them in all patience, understanding that they are so behaving with us out of ignorance. Instead of condemning them, we should feel compassionate for them. Very recently, Lord Sainath focused this fact into light in his own inimitable manner. One fine morning in September '83 T.A. Ram Nathen of Sarangabad {West Bengal) received a packet of 'udhi' prasad unsolicited from a devotee visiting the shrine of Hazrat Tajuddin Baba at Nagpur. Sai devotees are aware that Hazrat Tajuddin Baba (1861-1925) considered Shirdi Sai Baba as his 'Elder Brother' and infact, admonished Shri Booty (a gem in Sai durbar) by saying "Why have you come here? Your Guru is anxiously waiting for you at Shirdi".
Ram Nathenji thanked our Heavenly Father, Sai Baba, for this flow of Sai grace from Hazrat Tajuddin Baba. He shared this grace with his brothers and sisters in the 'Sai-fold' of the postal 'Sai Satsang' catalyzed by him. He wrote to each one of them enclosing a bit of Hazrat Tajuddin Baba's udhi to use for Sai-advantage.
R. Radhakrishnanji of Hubli (Karnataka) too received this Tajuddin prasad from Ramnathen and reverentially placed it in his home-shrine of Lord Sainath. Very soon, Lord Sainath brought forth on him a miracle.
Muppayanavar is working as a broker in the Marketing Society at Dharwar (Karnataka). He has been worshipping Lord Sainath for the last twelve years. He is also a regular subscriber of 'Sri Sai Leela' magazine. He lives in a locality predominantly inhabited by Muslim-brothers.
Since they belong to the iconoclastic religion, Sai'-Bro. Muppayanavar' s neighbour Muslim-Bros., did not tolerate idol worship. In September 1983, a few masked Muslim-Bros., gate-crashed into Muppayanavar' s House, assaulted him, and tried to snatch the Sai-Photo from him. But it was not to be so they turned round and threatened to kill him if he continued with idol-worship. Naturally he was shaken and developed a fear-complex. He did not wish to file F.I.R. but only prayed to Shirdi Sai for protection. "Faith accomplishes everything; doubt destroys everything", said Paramahansa Yogananda truly. Shirdi Sai responded to Muppayanavar' s prayer. He, a "Sai leela" subscriber, came across an article on noble R. Radhakrishnanji, noted down his address from it rushed post-haste to his house 15kms, away.
It was 2nd October 1983, Sri Radhakrishnanji had just performed the ceremony of his forefathers, as it was a 'Mahalaya Amavasya' day and was chitchatting with his children in the front verandah. Sri Muppayanavar rushed to him with tears gushing out of his eyes and narrated him his tale of woes. He was obsessed with the fear that the Muslim-brothers in his neighborhood might liquidate him any moment.
Sai-Bro. Radhakrishnanji gave him a patient hearing. He is a gem among Sai-devotees. He immediately rushed into his home-shrine of Sai Baba and prayed to Him for relief. He took a pinch of Hazrat Tajuddin Baba's udhi and gave it to Muppayanavarji with the advice: "Love your Muslim-brothers with all your heart and treat them with kindness and live with them in all patience, understanding that they are so behaving with you out of ignorance. Individually, we have to bear up with everything however unpleasant, that comes to us from anyone opposed to us and take it that Lord Sainath sends these troubles to raise us beyond the pairs of opposites, so that we can remain calm and unaffected in all situations. This attitude changes in a mysterious way the heart of the person who is opposed to us".
With this advice, Radhakrishnanji asked Muppayanavarji to keep udhi always with him and mentally pray to Baba for relief. He also told him an anecdote from Hazrat Tajuddin Baba's life :- "Once at the time of communal riots, a Muslim devotee complained to Hazrat Tajuddin Baba - 'Hindus are killing Muslims. Please save them'. The saint said - 'shut up, none can kill a true Muslim'. The aulia meant that those who have real faith in God would be saved and that all others are only Muslims and Hindus in name. They serve petty politics and not God".
It was Lord Sainath consoling Sri Muppayanavar through Sri R. Radhakrishnan. He returned to Dharwar and three days later, i.e. on the 5th October 1983, the same Muslim brothers who had beaten him two weeks ago re-entered his house. On this occasion, Sri Muppayanavar was bold enough as he had Hazrat Tajuddin Baba's udhi with him. The Muslim brothers apologized profusely for their misconduct and requested him to punish them in any manner he chose. Pious by nature, Sri Muppayanavar pardoned them and hugged each one of them with love and compassion.
My creed - To love justice, to long for the right, to love mercy, to pity the suffering to assist the weak, to forget wrongs and remember benefits, to love the truth, to be sincere, to utter honest words, to love liberty, to wage relentless war against slavery in all its funs, to love wife and child and friend, to make a happy home, to love the beautiful in art, in nature, to cultivate the mind, to be familiar with the mighty thoughts that genius has expressed, the noble deeds of all the world; to cultivate courage and cheerfulness, to make others happy, to fill the life with the splendor of generous acts, the warmth of loving words; to discard error, to destroy prejudice, to receive new truths with gladness, to cultivate hope, to see the calm beyond the storm, the dawn beyond the night, to do the best that can be done and then be resigned.
This is the religion of reason, the creed of science. This satisfies the brain and heart.

Sai Descends to help Devotee in Distress
By Puttanna
Sri Sai is ever watchful. He is always with those, who constantly repeat Sai... Sai.... Sai. Not only that, He helps them. He nourishes their devotion. He takes care of their worldly needs. He becomes one with them.
Poor Swarna for she lost her husband at the age of 21 or so. Her only daughter, Champa, was three years then. Through somebody's help, she got employed in the Khadi Gramodyoga Bhavan and started living independently with none to help her.
It was somewhere in the beginning of 1996, she started coming to Sri Saipadananda Satsanga to participate in Sai Satcharitha Parayana on every Thursday morning. When she was introduced to the Satsanga, her daughter, Champa, was already 20, studying in college. Swarna's worry then was how to find a suitable boy and to conduct the marriage without anybody's help and money. She said Sri Sai was her only refuge and she was sure that parayana of Sri Sai Satcharitha would fulfill her desires. She also said she was not poor as Sai is her father. She was so strong in her faith in Baba.
After 2 or 3 months, she stopped coming. I wanted to know what the problem was. When some devotee took me to her small house, I was very much pained and moved to see her lying in bed due to severe pain in the back bone, which had made her unable to sit or walk. Sand bags had been tied to her legs by the Doctor. During this difficult time, some of our Satsang members were inspired to help her by Baba's Grace. After two months treatment she recovered and was able to attend the office too. She started again to come to Satsanga for reading Sai Satcharitha.
Baba is always aware of the needs of His devotees. It so happened that she was invited to attend a relative's marriage where she went with her daughter. When she was witnessing the marriage, an elderly couple came to her to enquire whether she would offer her daughter to their son who was working in ISRO. Swarna never expected such a surprising situation. She believed that Sri Sai only had directed the elderly couple to approach her. Then and there the boy and the girl saw each other and consented to the marriage. When Swarna explained about her health and financial conditions, the boy's father only said "Don't worry. Everything will be all right by God's Grace."
Now, Swarna had no money and she has to conduct the marriage. The boy's father also fixed up the marriage hall and told Swarna to take care of the expenditure with regard to food only on the marriage day. But Swarna's problem was how to raise money.
Lo! Baba's unseen hand worked. At that time her brothers at her native place decided to dispose of their father's house. Through this deal, Baba helped her to get a fairly good amount as her share, just enough to meet the marriage expenses.
Thus, Champa was married on 6.12.1996. Sri Sai will never let down those who surrender and take total refuge in Him and Him alone.
Bow to Sri Sai - Peace be to All.

The Call Divine
By Janak Laroiya (Noida U.P.)
We were all born in this world to learn to know ourselves as souls. How are we going to know our true selves, if we don't conquer this little self, this flesh, and this emotional, moody, constantly changing mind? And it can be done, by self-discipline and by practice of deep meditation, by devotion to God, making Him the Polestar of our lives; by fixing the mind on that one Goal. Man's consciousness is always centered in something. It may be sex, money, or possessions. One has to be fixed in something, whether an object, an emotion, or in the soul. Our choice is as simple as that. What is it going to be? Every one should learn to be anchored in Him who is changeless. That is the wisdom taught by Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita.
Sri Sri Daya Mata heard Sai Baba's name for the first time in 1958, when I was working in the Indian Embassy at Katmandu, Nepal. Perhaps the time was not ripe for my anchorage to Lord Sainath. In 1959, I was posted back to New Delhi and from my Office-Secretary I got a picture of Sai Baba, books on him and Sai Leela magazine.
I began worshipping Sai Baba and got all my prayers answered by Him. I started penning my experiences to 'Sai Leela' magazine. Day by day my devotion to Sai Baba increased. After a couple of years, I got an invitation from Shirdi Samsthan to participate in the Annual gathering of contributors to Sai Leela magazine. We had not visited Shirdi till then and I took this as a sign from Sai Baba that we should be at His feet.
I did not even know the route to Shirdi. From New Delhi, I landed at Bombay and then hired a taxi to reach Shirdi next morning. It was a new moon day and was raining heavily. Indeed it was a difficult job for the driver also because of bad road condition and pouring rain. It was Sai grace that we avoided a few mishaps on the way and reached Shirdi safely.
On arrival at Shirdi we forgot all the discomforts of the previous night journey. Myself and my wife were treated as V.I.P. guests and comfortably accommodated. I had good 'darshan' of the Master and went round Dwarakamayi, Guru Sthan, Lendi Bagh etc., Baba was pouring His grace on us.
Since a few of my articles had appeared in Sai Leela magazine, I considered myself a great author and a very great Bhakta of Sai Baba. This ego made me consider myself too great and looked upon other shabbily-dressed devotees as not worthy of attending this annual gathering of Sai Leela contributors.
But in the ensuing sessions, I found to my great dismay that there were stalwarts, people from all walks of life - IAS officers, Doctors, Professors, Engineers, Scientists etc., and all of them were much ahead of me spiritually. In that session, Baba was talking to me in whispers about my shortcomings and how I could correct myself. By the time the gathering concluded, my mind was cleansed and Sai Baba made me consider 'absolutely nothing'. We thanked Baba and took leave from Him to return home.
This process of learning on my maiden visit to Shirdi has made me more humble in the last forty years. Sai Baba made me read a lot and take every event as 'divinely sent'. But I still feel I have miles to go to reach the goal of 'Self-Realisation'.

Satsang A True Sai Sevak
Satsang A True Sai Sevak
A True Sai Sevak
By N. Subramarim (New Delhi)
He who serves 'Sai' does not serve himself;
He who worships Sai spreads Sai's Glory, not his.
He who invokes Sai's Name erases his own;
He seeks no advantage for himself
When he works for the benefit of others;
Self-effacement is the hall-mark of a Sai Sevak,
And Self-sacrifice is his identity card.
Truthfulness in word and deed is his passport.
To project one's own personal image for selfish gains,
Material profit or hunt for popularity,
Or needless vanity and egoistic self-publicity,
Is not the way of a Sai Sevak, true and pure
He goes about unnoticed and serves unseen.
For him everything has Sai-sanctity and Sai-Love.
Every paisa collected or spent is accounted for.
Sai is Agni that has to be feared and respected,
And His oodhi (Udhi/Vibhuthi) burns sins and sinners to ashes.
Sai needs no big imposing shrines in brick and mortar,
But needs to be graciously enshrined in every heart
A true Sai Sevak goes about in utter humility
Like Narasimha Swamiji and Sai Padanandaji,
Avoiding outward show and awkward obsequious postures
For a true Sai Sevak, a litany of pious wishes
Is not prayer or pooja or ceremonious ritual
But selfless service is his meditation and worship.
His conviction is that true devotion is most inexpensive
And the spirit of service is compassion and detachment.
He knows it is not in our power but in God's;
To wipe out karmic effects in life or cure all ills
As an ordinary mortal, he well believes
That it is Sai's Grace we have to secure by prayer.

Satsang Beautiful Pearls
Satsang Beautiful Pearls
Jenny was a bright-eyed, pretty five-year-old girl.
One day when she and her mother were checking out at the grocery store, Jenny saw a plastic pearl necklace priced at $2.50. How she wanted that necklace, and when she asked her mother if she would buy it for her, her mother said, "Well, it is a pretty necklace, but it costs an awful lot of money. I'll tell you what. I'll buy you the necklace, and when we get home we can make up a list of chores that you can do to pay for the necklace.
And don't forget that for your birthday Grandma just might give you a whole dollar bill, too. Okay?" Jenny agreed, and her mother bought the pearl necklace for her.
Jenny worked on her chores very hard every day, and sure enough, her grandma gave her a brand new dollar bill for her birthday. Soon Jenny had paid off the pearls. How Jenny loved those pearls. She wore them everywhere to kindergarten, bed and when she went out with her mother to run errands.
The only time she didn't wear them was in the shower. Her mother had told her that they would turn her neck green!
Now Jenny had a very loving daddy. When Jenny went to bed, he would get up from his favorite chair every night and read Jenny her favorite story. One night when he finished the story, he said, "Jenny, do you love me?" "Oh yes, Daddy, you know I love you," the little girl said.
"Well, then, give me your pearls." "Oh! Daddy, not my pearls!" Jenny said. "But you can have Rosy, my favorite doll. Remember her? You gave her to me last year for my birthday. And you can have her tea party outfit, too. Okay?" "Oh no, darling, that's okay." Her father brushed her cheek with a kiss. "Good night, little one."
A week later, her father once again asked Jenny after her story, "Do you love me?" "Oh yes, Daddy, you know I love you." "Well, then, give me your pearls."
"Oh, Daddy, not my pearls! But you can have Ribbons, my toy horse. Do you remember her? She's my favorite. Her hair is so soft, and you can play with it and braid it and everything. You can have Ribbons if you want her, "Daddy," the little girl said to her father. "No, that's okay," her father said and brushed her cheek again with a kiss. God bless you, little one. Sweet dreams."
Several days later, when Jenny's father came in to read her a story, Jenny was sitting on her bed and her lip was trembling. " Here, Daddy," she said, and held out her hand. She opened it and her beloved pearl necklace was inside. She let it slip into her father's hand.
With one hand her father held the plastic pearls and the other he pulled out of his pocket a blue velvet box. Inside of the box were real, genuine, beautiful pearls. He had had them all along. He was waiting for Jenny to give up the cheap stuff so he could give her the real thing.
So it is with GOD. He is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in our lives so he can give us beautiful treasure.
Isn't God good?
This made me think about the things I hold on to and wonder what God wants to give me in its place.
Want Beautiful Pearls?
Give up cheap things in life...

Satsang Surrender to Lord Sai By B. Umamaheswara Rao
Surrender to Lord Sai
By B. Umamaheswara Rao
(Founder Editor - 'Sai Prabha and Editor 'Sainatha Prabha')
It is not Easy
IT IS NOT EASY
- to apologize
- to begin again
- to admit error
- to be unselfish
- to face a sneer
- to be considerate
- to endure success and prosperity
- to keep on trying in difficulties
- to profit by mistakes
- to forgive and forget
- to think and then act manfully
- to make best of what is God-given
- to shoulder deserved blame
- to subdue an ugly temper
- to master a critical tongue NO IT IS NOT EASY AT ALL.
'Shraddha' and 'Saburi' are the two-paisa dakshina that Lord Sai asked his devotees to give him to be led to His holy feet. The devotee loves Sai, as the child its mother, as the servant his master with complete dependence on Him.
Let us open out our hearts fully before Lord Sainath. Let us lay our hearts bare, confess all our shortcomings and weaknesses and appeal for strength to conquer them.
To increase bhakti in Sai, three things are necessary.
1. Constant repetition of Sai-nam 'OM SAI SRI SAIJAYA JAYA SAI'.
2. To see Lord Sai in all objects and beings.
3. To undergo all difficulties and sorrows in a spirit of resignation and renunciation.
All our weaknesses are destroyed the moment we surrender ourselves to Lord Sainath. The self surrender should not be only for a time. It must be continuous and the consciousness of the ego must leave us entirely and forever.
1. Acknowledgement of Sai-will as supreme:
Our ego refuses to submit to this truth and makes us suffer from disappointments and doubts. Let us always remember that Sai is the sole-doer and we are all merely instruments in His hands.
2. Realisation that Sai is always good, loving and compassionate:
So Sai-will works only for good. He is kind and compassionate. This gives us the necessary strength to patiently endure every trial and grief, seeing in it the hidden good, as in the apparent harsh treatment of the child by its mother when she chastises her child for its good.
3. Every moment is a part of Sai-eternity: Acceptance of the fact that Sai has assured the form
of the Universe of all creatures, of all beings and things in it. Let us consider every thing and every being as manifestation of Lord Sai. Then we have nothing to dislike or hate. Here we create an ocean of love in which we immerse ourselves and enjoy eternal bliss. "BE EVER IN SHIRDI SAI-BE-THUS IN SAIJOY".
4. This is an ideal that every Sai-devotee must have. Let us all strive to achieve it one hundred percent.
Diamond-Life
In this age of affluence many people...... .. When they meet obstacles... .... give up and take the course of least resistance. They refuse to stand up and face their problems eye-to-eye.
Little do they realize that sometimes the things against which they rebel most in life and look upon as obstacles are what they need most to develop their highest usefulness and efficiency.
If a diamond could talk, it would undoubtedly express resentment against the abrasive, grinding contact of the jeweler's wheel that grinds and polishes its facets. Yet.... without the jeweler's grinding wheel, the diamond has little commercial value. The swiftly revolving wheel cuts into the surface of the diamond and from a common-appearing pebble produces a gem of beauty that is admired and sought after. There is no other way to make a diamond except by grinding and polishing.
In the same way, human life must be subjected to difficulties, adversities, and discipline in order to bring out those qualities that will make life of value to the owner.
Prayer
Charles V called his son one day and showing him a beautiful sword and a sacred book, said, ''Choose between these two objects." The son preferred the breviary, and when the Emperor asked the reason for his decision, he simply replied, "My Father, with the sword I could conquer a kingdom, but with prayer I could gain Heaven which is more lasting and happier."

I carry on your burden - Baba
By Chakor Ajgaonkar (Former Editor of 'Sai Leela]
"Do you love dolls?" a little girl asked the guest "Yes, I do", he replied.
At once she ran and brought a heap of dolls. The guest asked her, "Which one do you love the most?"
"Promise not to laugh at it I tell you?" He said, "I promise".
She picked a doll whose hair had come off, with a broken nose, scratched cheek, one leg and one arm missing.
"This one"
"Why?” asked the visitor.
"Because", she answered, "If I don't love this one, no body else would!"
What a great lesson from a child! God loves the broken ones, those no one else loves!
In Gita, Lord Krishna has given express assurance that those who are totally dedicated to Him with implicit faith and those who worship Him incessantly are helped and protected by Him. Sai Baba has given a similar promise to His devotees. His symbolic discourse with Shyama fully reflects his divine assurance to devotees who place unflinching faith in his protection as guardian Godfather.
Shyama was a school teacher. He became the first knowledgeable and conscious follower, devotee and propagator of Sai Baba's glory among the incoming educated and elite persons who visited Shirdi occasionally during olden days.
At first Shyama considered Sai Baba as a crazy fakhir. He was attracted to Baba as he was fond of tobacco and Baba used to give him sips of chili. After having a close company of Baba, the intelligence and education of Shyama brought home the understanding to him, that the strange behavior of the Master has some scheme behind it. He used to select good and pious persons for blessing and granting udhi with boons, whereas Baba at once found out the black sheep and wicked persons in society and remonstrated them. Thus Shyama who used to treat Baba as a mad fakhir and came only to enjoy and relish tobacco smoking, came to realise that Baba was the wisest among men and greatest among the sadhus of contemporary decades. Slowly he became the introducer, mediator and follower of Baba and used his affinity as a media to incoming devotees.
Once Baba gave a book of Vishnu Sahasra Namam taken by Him form the bundle of a Ramadasi, Shyama refused to accept it. Instead he requested Baba to protect him, remove his worries directly without the mediation of book or name. Baba then assured (in the words of Sai Geetayan) as follows:-
"O! Shyama is it necessary for me to repeat this to you every time that I carry the burden of my devotees for ever. I swear by the sacred flames burning in the Dhuni. There will be nothing short in the house of my devotee. He will be never destitute of food and clothing. Those who forget their body consciousness in my memory are blessed by me. I carry their burden. Those who will climb the footsteps of this mosque will be lifted up from the mire of this magic and transitory samsara. I will carry them on my shoulders to the yonder bank of peace, tranquility and deliverance. These devotees are dearer to me than my own soul because they forget themselves in the recitation of my name and meditation of my form. Shyama - I carry their burdens. I have repeated this a million times to you".
Baba has not left the world of devotees although he has left his human body. He is beside, before, behind and accompanying his devout followers. All burdens are to be placed at his feet by the devotees and behave in the world with 'Shraddha' and 'Saburi'. In fact this is the summing up of what Baba did and said during his lifetime. Shyama is the first and foremost comrade devotee assured in straight and direct terms.

A Thursday Sai Message
I had the privilege of having 'darshan' of Lord Sainath in the
Sai-temple at New York, when we went to the U.S.A.
in 1984. I came across an unforgettable incident on a Thursday
evening.
An elderly white-haired Gujarat-born Sai-brother was next to me.
After the worship, I noticed that this brother put a small slip of
paper, but no money in the 'Arathi' plate. Just then, a gust of
wind from the open window blew the paper on to the floor. Bending
over to retrieve it, I could not help but see these words printed
in large letters: "I will pray one hour a day".
I became curious and as such requested him to explain the message
he had put in the 'Arathi' plate. What he told me is quite moving.
His wife had died following a long and very expensive illness and
he lay been forced to sell his home to pay medical bills.
Now he lived with his married daughter. "I am too old to work and
I have no money" he said:
"but I can pray." Lord Sainath has assured, "If you spread your palms
with devotion before Me, I am with you day and night'. So He is taking
care of me".
His story brought to my mind Sai Baba's assurance - 'I always think
of him who remembers Me and reminded me once again that when we give
sincerely what we have, no gift brought before Lord Sainath is too
small or insignificant.

Satsang Sai Baba Sheds Tears for His Devotees

Sai Baba Sheds Tears for His Devotees
Swami Shuddhananda Brahmachari, Founder of the Lokenath Divine Mission, Calcutta, in a communication to the President of Sri Sai Spiritual Centre, Bangalore, mentions about a great Sai miracle - Sai's newly installed 'murthy' sheding tears during the 'pranaprathishta' recently.
The Swamiji, doing noble social work and a staunch devotee of Baba, writes: "It was indeed such a holy influence of Sai Devotees at the Calcutta Conference and our meeting was such a deep spiritual experience for one another due to the strong presence of the Living God Sri Sainath. I am happy you wrote such a loving letter and invited me to come over to Bangalore during the Anniversary of Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji Maharaj. Incidentally, the month of April, the time that you mentioned, does not provide me with a chance to be with you. But my spirit and my heart will always be with each one of you in all your efforts to offer your love and service to the divine feet of your Guru and the Eternal God.
Ramesh Mehta, a staunch devotee of Sai Nath, came to meet me yesterday and narrated to me about his visit to Gujarat, where about 120 km from Ahmedabad on the National Highway, a young Sai devotee has established a wonderful Sai Temple with Akhand Dhuni visited by hundreds and thousands every day. The miracle of miracles was on the auspicious occasion of the PranPratistha Utsav when thousands of devotees were chanting Sai Naama and the priests performed the rituals, suddenly the devotees saw tears of happiness rolling down the cheeks of Sainath. The stone melting into divine.
Swami Shuddhananda Brahmachari (Founder -Lokenath Divine Mission, Calcutta) express of happiness and Life. He brought along with him a copy of the photograph which clearly shows the tears on his cheeks. No Sai devotees in the world can hold their tears to see this Unique Lila of the Lord.
I could not wait to share this with you and all my Sai brothers and Sai Sisters this incredible Sai Lila. Yes, the truth is it is not only the devotees who cry for the Satguru but the Satguru also cries for the devotees. The pains and agonies of the surrendered children touches and the heart of Satguru melt. This Lila brings to light that God lives. He lives for all of us, in us, with us, around us, everywhere!
Sai Lila is eternal manifestation of the truth of God's Compassion for all the earthly beings for those who believe and those who do not. May we all wake up from our slumber of Maya and attachments to trifles of life and worship the Sai in all the beings in and around us. Love and share what ever Sai has given us. Give, Give and Give till we are empty and we are filled to the brim with SAI KRIPA. MAY LOVE FLOW OUT OF US AS FRAGRANCE FROM FLOWERS. That would be true celebrations of Radhakrishna Swamiji Maharaja's Anniversary and the right tribute to the dedicated apostle of Satguru Sainath.
With my love and Blessings of Baba Lokenath to you all my very dear sisters and brothers of Sai family. This is my humble sharing with you on the eve of the Utsav and the magazine's Completion of 10 years.
Jai Sai Nath Maharaj Ki Jai.

Satsang Sai Baba's Method
Satsang Sai Baba's Method
In Sai's system, (as Sri Narasimha Swamiji puts it), the Guru undertakes every responsibility for the devotee that surrenders himself. The devotee is there styled 'the Ankita', i.e., the stamped child of the Guru. Everything concerning that pupil is looked after by the Guru, with his wonderful superhuman powers. For a time, the circle of his worshippers and admirers was extremely limited and in the close proximity of Shirdi. But as the mass puts it, you cannot conceal the Sun by covering it with the back of your hand. Murder will be out, truth will be out, and greatness of Saints will be out also. Baba's powers of achieving objects by mere blessings were so well known to many now, without any education or training, he dared to give medicines for highly advanced cases of tuberculosis, Leprosy, rotting eyes, bone rot etc., and effected most remarkable cures. The devotees discovered that Baba knew everything, their present condition, and the innermost thoughts that lay hidden in their hearts, their entire past history, their previous births also, that Baba could definitely state what the future was going to be for each person that came to him.
Those wonderful powers were employed by Baba not for purposes of show or for getting wealth or plaudits but merely to promote the best interests of people who confined themselves entirely to his care. Naturally the advantages of having such a guru to worship were highly esteemed and the worship of Baba went on from neighborhood of Shirdi to distant outlying areas and reached practically the confines of Maharashtra by the time of his Maha Samadhi in 1918. And now it has spread all over our country and abroad.
We shall remember now one of Baba's eleven sayings, "I am ever living to help all who come to me, who surrender to me and who seek refuge in me."
Thus Baba is living and helping us (his devotees) in every respect, temporal and spiritual, not for one moment but for the entire life of the devotees that he takes charge of.
Baba's methods are unconventional. He insisted upon the essence of all religions viz., love, intense, unselfish love evidenced by devotion and service to all mankind and all creatures. This love begins with the Guru but grows and covers up every creature. Hatred is inconsistent with Baba's faith and the more this doctrine of love, gathering momentum under the Sai Baba Movement, spreads, the more chances there will be for people's love to grow and for this unfortunate tendency of mutual jealousy and hatred which now threatens world peace, to get absorbed.
That hatred ceases not by hatred but by love, is demonstrated in individual lives and will also be demonstrated more and more in the history of groups of nations and of the world.
What we Reveal to Others
I was abroad a large airliner sometime ago which ran into an extremely severe wind and rainstorm. Despite the size of the plane and the tremendous power of its four wasp motors, the ship was being tossed violently. A little nine-year-old fellow was my seat companion. It was his first experience in the air, and he was desperately afraid.
Suddenly he looked up at me and said "Are you afraid?" I smiled and replied, "No this is real fun." An immediate change came over the little chap - fear and tension left him. He, too, had fun.
This taught me a real lesson in living. What he detected in my voice, what he discerned in my face, helped him over that rough spot in life. How many people during times of trial watch my face for what it may reveal, I do not know. This I do know-my face and my life must reveal to those who observe me or need me, my faith in God.

Absolute Surrender - The Only Approach
Shri Baba has seldom revealed His ways to bless and push up His devotees on the spiritual path. However, there are certain broad hints given by Him to devotees which when followed lead them on to the final goal.
The most famous of His utterances is "Look to me; and I will look to you”. This pronouncement from Him is greatly simple; but it is simply great in its meaning. Shri Baba has first advised the devotees to look to Him. His words have always been full of endless meaning of shore less sea of knowledge. Looking to Baba implies first and foremost to His first quality i.e. of His absolute faith in His Guru. He Himself had said that He gave up worldly ambitions though He had achieved extra-ordinary success even in these matters (Vide chapter No. 32) to concentrate on His Guru fully. He forgot hunger, thirst, and thus His Guru's form fixed itself, in His eyes. This intense concentration on the Guru snapped His attachments to his relations and His Guru became His all in all and magnetized Baba fully to turn into His likeness.
It is an axiomatic truth that what one thinks of intently so one becomes. In due time i.e. prolonged period of 12 years of patient waiting upon the Guru resulted in His being blessed by the bliss supreme. It is thus clear, that by looking to Baba implies looking to His Sachidananda Swarupa which is unaffected by any outside influences.
To attain this highest state, Baba surrendered all His interests to His Guru. He considered the existence of his mortal frame only for the service of His Guru. Baba thus attained the supreme goal of life by His absolute surrender to His Guru, who in turn moulded Baba just like Him transferring all the knowledge and powers to His best disciple.
In this context, it is essential to note here the Upanishadic dictum that the self reveals its nature of its own choosing and not through effort or study. So Shri Baba's method of working on His chosen devotees is not EXTERNAL, but INTERNAL. In point of fact, it is only the cover of unfulfilled desires, aspirations and worldly attachments which cloud our vision of God realization. Baba does not change the world but changes us internally through His full grace when the devotee surrenders everything to Him.
In short it is earnestly requested to the sadhakas on the path of Sai realization that they should surrender their body, mind and wealth absolutely to Baba so as to allow Him to "ENTER" into them fully and to work for their emancipation. Absolute surrender is the only approach to have full Sai bliss.

Sri Sai Amrit Vani and Sri Sai Satcharitra - 23rd August 2007
Sri Sai Amrit Vani and Sri Sai Satcharitra
23rd August 2007
Jai Sai Ram
Today it was the Prayan of the last but one, ie
chapter 50 of Sri Sai Satcharitra. Next Thursday, we will be
completing the Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra.
Following devotees participated in absencia in
the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers to Baba (
Shirdi) and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra by reciting Sri Sai Amrit
Vani at their places on 23rd August 2007 (The list is sorted as per
their email ids, to avoi duplications) . However Mrs. Gupta prayed for
all the devotees. In this list only those devotees are included, who
themselves recited or read Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places. Kindly
mention clearly, against each devotee's name that he/she will recite
or read or listen to Sri Sai Amrit Vani, or the names are for
prayers. Please also give the name of the place of all devotees,
named in the email. Place is also important without it, the letter is
not complete.
This Thursday the 23rdAug. we enjoyed the following
Leelas of Baba (of Shirdi). It may seems to be repitative for the old
members, but when the Leela are repetative, so the discription is
also repitative. Every week many new members join the group, so I
have to repeat the whole events that happen on this day.
1. Udi started appearing and oozing from the two photos on the
wall and Hindi words `RAM' `SHAM' and `OM', and figure of
Trishool were formed with Udi on one photo. On Wednesday Udi
started oozing from the main photo in the mandir. `RAM' `SHAM'
and `OM' along with other figures were also formed on the photo.
From Statue also, Udi started oozing from Wednesday. All the photos
and Statue from Udi is oozing are of Shirdi Sai Baba.
2. There was lot of Water from the Charans this week also. Thali
was emptied several times. The taste of water was similar to gulab
jal and kewara mix. After distribution of Prasad, this water was also
given to the devotees and again the Thali was filled with water.
Devotees bring bottles to take the water home.
3. Lap of Mrs. Gupta was filled with Udi during the prayers. Udi
was there between the falls of the Sari.
4. Several devotees had Udi in the books of Sri Sai Amrit Vani.
6. Presence of Baba during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani,
Prayer and Prayan of Sri Satcharitra was very strong.
7. All the boxes of Bhog which were kept on the table were
blessed with Udi,
8. The Charnamrit, the water in which Baba took the bath in the
morning was also sweet as if some honey has been mixed into it.
9. Udi was there on the Documents, Photos of Baba, Many Sai
Satcharitras which were placed on the table before Baba.
10. In One Sai Satcharitra there was a pearl along with Udi
inside it.
Jai Sai Ram
Sri Sai Amrit Vani started at 11:04 AM. Noon
Aartee, the same Aartee which is being recited in Shirdi, started at
12:00 Hrs. followed by brief Meditation and the prayer, Prayan of
Chapter 50 from Sai Satcharitra. Mrs. Gupta offered prayers and
thanks to Baba. Finally distribution of Prasad, Udi and the water
from the Charans. Devotees narrated their experiences and the
benefits they are have with Baba's Blessings.

"LORD"
Lord, Bless me fill thy Light in My Heart and Soul
Let me feel your presence in and around me everywhere
Beauty of the nature sooths my eyes and gives relief, it is all them creation
Bhakti, Bhajans and Meditation are the ways to merge in you thou dwell in everybody's Heart.
Prayer is always for you to be with me everywhere and all the times.
I surrender at your Lotus Feet with my body and soul.

The subject of Sai Baba of Shirdi is an extremely interesting one and at the same time one of great complexity and difficulty. Sai Baba is a living force and the Sai Movement is growing, expanding, and developing in its nature as time goes on and though Sai Baba passed away in 1918, it is quite correct to say that we are too near the trees to see the forest. Sai Baba's movement is growing around us and we cannot feel sure that we have seen most of it, much less of it. Baba's Life is also so full of mystery that one cannot be sure that one gives an accurate account of Baba. Yet we shall follow the legacy (the unearthed treasure) stored up by our Sri Narasimha Swamiji, the founder of Baba's world.
In the first place, Sai Baba is absorbing the attention of an increasingly large number of people, and that is the meaning of the growth of the Sai movement. The subject of Baba's life and the history of his movement are of romantic interest and far surpass the interest which we have in reading fiction like Arabian Nights, etc. The oft-quoted saying that truth is stranger than fiction is best illustrated here. Taking the mere question of the life of the Saint, that itself is incredible and marvelous.
When he got into Shirdi, he was ripening his process of love in solitude. Vairagya, Dhriti and interest in all creatures were developed unnoticed and in obscurity by Baba, and the benefit to the world came through the intrepid courage of a Goldsmith (Mahlsapathy) who was anxious to get the best of saints for his Guru. Mahlsapathy, a highly devout and dispassionate worshipper of Khandoba found that Baba who had come as an unknown fakir was really a remarkable gem of the highest virtues and was most fitted to be his own Guru. So he started the worship of Baba in the mosque itself where Baba was living. His example was followed by others slowly. Now it has developed so vastly in all parts of the country and Baba's worship is going on individually and collectively. This is a well known fact.

Satsang Baba and Miracles
Satsang Baba and Miracles
Baba and Miracles
Miracles happened during Baba's life-time and they continued to happen even after His Mahasamadhi. In fact Baba never did any miracles. It was one of the part of the Cosmic Flow. Those, who joined the flow, experienced them. Those, who were only spectators, saw them with awe and doubt. "What is going to happen", is a phrase that haunts everyone. Nothing is happening. It is our limited understanding because of our limited perception. It is there only we need to join it to be one with it. There should not be separate identification. When you do not understand your mind, you are not at its mercy; but when you understand, you are lost in the midst of it. It is the difference between being in bondage to thought or being liberated by it. The experience of understanding is wisdom; but trying to capture that understanding, to convey it in words, is knowledge. Spiritualism is to be in tune with the supreme spirit. The journey to Spiritualism is very confusing at the beginning. It is even more complicated compared to the journey in the unknown space, the unknown starry-world. Baba always indicated that he was in tune with the Supreme flow and never confronted it. His approach was simple and direct. He did not write volumes. He never preached as a priest. His life itself was a light-house that emitted light to all, who came to him. Mystic incidents happened around Baba. They spoke profoundly that Baba was in the perfect cosmic flow. Meditation is complete friendship with the self-no confrontation, no side tracking. The whole life of Baba wags a perfect meditation, a continuous awareness. He watered the trees and the trees whispered to him. He fed the hungry and the hungry were satisfied. He calmed the distressed. He got angry to set the things to tune, to merge with the cosmic flow. His presence, his look brought together all only to understand the supreme "self”. He always insisted upon the "Witness State", and he was the supreme witness. He never confronted with any so called Karmic laws. In the present century this saint Sai Baba led the common man to real spiritual journey. He respected all faiths. He upheld valid wholesome customs. He proved efficiently that spiritual pursuit is not the monopoly of the few. Even today, what we term as miracles that take place in the common understanding, bring many devotees together to share the cosmic feeling of oneness. Baba had all the qualities that are defined in Bhagavadgeeta of a Purushottam. I feel Sai dharma is growing, growing wildly to create more spiritual shelter to all. It has no ritual barriers. It has no concrete walls of dogmas. It is like the "air" which we breathe every second to hold our being. Let Sai truth prevail like sweet aroma all over.

It has no concrete walls of dogmas. It is like the "air" which we breathe every second to hold our being. Let Sai truth prevail like sweet aroma all over.

Satsang Devotion to Shri Sai Baba by Sanjay M. Padia
Satsang Devotion to Shri Sai Baba by Sanjay M. Padia
To the young as well as the old, let me say that Shri Sainath is the easiest Avatar to approach for your miseries. Baba is the only saint or Avatar who required the least devotion and without formalities. Baba Himself is equal to Rama, Krishna and Maruti and hence worshipping Baba is worshipping all of them. In Sai Baba's charters and sayings by H. H. Narasimha Swamiji let us refer to Chapter Nos 22, 24, 25 & 27. For reference and information they are as under:
Ch 22) simply say "Sai, Sai" with heart overflowing. I care not for show and respect of forms. I rest in such devotees.
Ch 24) I am formless and everywhere.
Ch 25) If one casts his burden on me and thinks of me I look after all his concerns.
Ch 27) In the abode of my devotees there will be no dearth of food and clothing.
These assurances are enough to indicate that Shri Sainath is always with His devotees who remember Him. Even if we spend a little time only thinking of Sai, that itself is sufficient. But we must have faith and patience as preached by Baba to have His full blessings. And it is true that 9 out of 10 people have benefited from Him during His lifetime and even after so many years of Mahasamadhi, His response towards His devotees is as prompt as what it was during His life. Even today, the majority of the people find relief when they earnestly pray to Him. For Sai Baba we need not chant so many mantras or observe so many rites. The best recourse is to pray silently to Him any time of the day. Many devotees believe that to please Lord Sainath Maharaj various forms of pooja and chanting of hymns is required. In this however they are wrong. It is no doubt very good to do a detailed pooja if one is able to do it, but to those who cannot, it is not compulsory in Sai's case.
To develop faith and patience together with increased devotion, devotees must first read the Sai-Charitra (life-history of Sai Baba), read His leelas, etc. By doing so, a devotee will have increased faith and devotion to Baba thereby making him perfectly qualified for his entry into Baba's Darbar. This very reading of the Sat-Charitra is a prayer itself. A devotee may not follow the usual lengthy procedures for worshipping Baba but to take recourse to an easier path one must first go through His life and leelas. Without studying Baba's life and leelas it is not possible for any person to develop faith.
Baba's innumerable material benefits conferred on His devotees are in sharp contrast to Lord Ramana Maharashi and Lord Ramakrishna Paramhamsa both of whom imparted spiritual instructions and benefits only. Whereas the three Top personalities are equal in their Spiritual and Divine Powers, there are only two differences where Baba actually differs from them:
a) Baba blessed His devotees both materially and spiritually whereas Lord Ramana and Ramakrishna blessed their devotees for spiritual upliftment only.
b) Whereas the Samadhi of Lord Ramana and that of Lord Ramakrishna are not active after their physical departure from this world, that of Baba is. Shri Sai Nath Maharaj is even more active after His Samadhi than when He was physically present.
These two differences indicate that Baba's mission in this world is different than that of the other two. That is why He is continuing to help His devotees in all ways.
Finally let me state that if a devotee places His confidence in Baba he is sure to be protected whatever the circumstances may be. He need not fear for body and soul.
Baba's orders are supreme. No force on earth or even in this universe or beyond can challenge His grace and order. He has got virtual command of the movements of this entire universe and no devotee must even doubt for a moment that nothing is impossible for Him to do. So we must surrender wholeheartedly to Him.

Satsang Devotion to Shri Sai Baba by Sanjay M. Padia
Satsang Devotion to Shri Sai Baba by Sanjay M. Padia
Devotion to Shri Sai Baba
We all know that to obtain the blessings of divine personalities such as Rama, Krishna, Maruti, Shiva, Ganapathi, etc... it takes years of unfailing devotion, before we are able to reach their expectations. Any break in our devotion in the middle would create a setback which may again take several years or more. Great saints such as Narasingh Mehta, Meerabai, Bhakta Prahlad spent most of their lives immersed in devotion to Lord Krishna and as a result achieved not only liberation but also sainthood. But the intensity of devotion which they had cannot be compared to that of the devotees of today. I would not say that today's devotees are insincere but the difference in the time factor is obviously there.
We all belong to the 20th century when science and technology has advanced so rapidly that the belief in the existence of God itself is being doubted. The absence of belief in God is very much present amongst our youth, who are more engrossed in their worldly pleasures than anything else.
In our country for instance, we see around us a lot of modern hotels, clubs and bars where most of our young people are found to visit these days. This has resulted in not only a deviation from the traditional Indian culture but also a sharp decline in our moral standards. By imitating the negative side of the Western culture, our youth's morale has stooped to a record low level.
I am not against Western nations as such and very much appreciating their economic development, science, technology, discipline and honesty but instead of accepting these good points, we have chosen their bad ones. In the midst of all this wholesale negative import, religion has no place whatsoever.
I have met many friends and most of them often say that they doubt the existence of God. I have no desire to elaborate to them on this issue since they would refuse to believe even if I do so. But there are some who say that they do believe in God and Personalities such as Rama, Krishna etc. but they hardly have any time for devotion or thinking of God. And there are also some who say that they do believe and even spend a little time on prayer but find no relief from their miseries.
Let me first contradict the statement of those friends who say that they don't have time for any devotion. Is this statement on their part justified? Definitely not; Because time as a fact is never available at all. It is we who have to create it. Just as we spend say 8 hours in sleep, 9 hours at work, and the balance 7 hours for entertainment we are actually booking time accordingly. Assuming that we must sleep for 8 hours and that we must work at our office for 9 hours we leave a balance of 7 hours to be adjusted to suit our entertainments. Out of those 7 hours do you think that these friends cannot spare even 15 minutes on devotion and that is believable? I don't but I cannot say about our readers. Let us say the available time is only 4 hours at the most. But even in these four hours can they not spend 10 minutes at least? The actual underlying fact is our friends just put forward a lame excuse. The real reasons are
a) They are not interested in any form of prayer, or devotion. They would rather opt for interesting entertainments instead.
b) They are lazy.
The first reason is most obvious. Belief in God for such type of youth is confined to the word ‘belief’, only. That belief does not necessarily imply that they must be devoted also, according to them.
The other group of friends tells me that though they spend a little time on prayer, their mind remains perturbed, and there is no end to their difficulties. This is the point that my topic in this article relates to:

Devotee by Swami Kesavaiahji (contd….)
A mere child Pralhad was subjected to every unimaginable torture, such as letting loose on him a mad elephant, exposing to the bites of venomous snakes, dropping from the top of a mountain or shutting up in a death room filled with poisonous gases, But he neither feared nor did he meet with death. What was the secret of Pralhada's power? His firm faith in God; Shri Sai Baba often used to stay that once a person has faith in God, he has achieved everything. There is nothing greater than faith. Shri Rama, who was God himself, had to build a bridge to cross the sea to Lanka, but Hanuman, who had immense faith in Rama cleared the sea in one jump. Shri Ramakrishna says, "As is a man's mediation, so is his feeling of love. As is a man's feeling of love, so is his gain. And faith is the root of all". Saint Mirabai drank the cup of poison in one draught and Haridas bore gladly the strokes of the lash, all the while repeating the name of Hari and praying God to pardon his persecutors. A devotee, who has such intense faith, does not bear any ill-will towards his enemies. His faith is so unshakeable that he actually sees that the whole world is full of God and everything in it is a manifestation of God.
The extraordinary patience displayed by a devotee towards those who harm him should not be interpreted as cowardice. The devotee's heart is full of virtues like forgiveness, spirit of non-violence, compassion and love. He prefers to suffer inconveniences himself rather than persecutors. Thus, forgiveness, nonviolence, compassion etc., are the virtues of the hero and the characteristic of a true devotee is courageous patience or Saburi as Shri Sai Baba has put it.
There are different types of devotees. It is the lot of many to tread the hard and steep path through suffering, sacrifice and toil. They need long and arduous spiritual discipline and practice. There are some who are "Nitya Siddhas". Since their birth, their spiritual consciousness is awake. They are born like Shri Sai Baba to impart spiritual illumination to others to lift a little of the heavy Karma of the World. There is yet another class of devotees- "Kripa Siddhas" on whom the grace of God descends all of a sudden. Within a short time, they attain great vision and knowledge. In short, a true devotee is one “who cannot live without God; so also God cannot live without His devotee". He has humility and he loses all traces of the ego. He has surrendered completely his body and soul to God. He has abundant faith (Nishta), and courageous patience (Saburi). These are the high hallmarks of a true devotee. Judging by this touchstone, let each fix bearings in the wide ocean of life and follow the distant light which is within every one of us.

Baba Miracle Turned a New Leaf of Life
"I SHALL DRAW OUT MY DEVOTEES FROM JAWS OF DEATH"
How true are these words of Baba, in CHAPTER III
Of Sai Satcharitha by Hemandpant!! !!!
I can narrate a miracle happened in my life, 7
Years back which is still fresh like a blossom flower in the spring in my mind
My friend MR.Vijay Bahl , Canada suffered a
Massive heart attack and admitted into the Intensive care unit of a
Public Hospital at Toronto , Canada , The monitor attached to him
Was shocking showing signs of consistant collapse. Doctor who
Attended him in the morning, asked family not to go anywhere and remain
There as there was no hopes of survival with complex problems additionally like Diabetes,Pneumonia and third intense Heart Attack.
Mrs. Vijay Bahl thought of going to Baba's temple or Gurudwara praying to Him rather than remaining in that place as her presence may not be going to make any change in his condition.
Mrs.Vijay Bahl cryingly telephoned to me narrated the condition of her Husband in the Hospital and the family members and close relatives are awaiting in anxious grief moments in the lounge outside the Intensive Care Unit, In the die hard situation of her husband Mr.Vijay Bahl, she physically rushed to me with the kids and telling me that Baba will always take care of His Devotees' problems.
Mrs Vijay Bahl who never knew Baba, had witnessed the Manifestation of Baba Vibhuti at my place in the presence of Divine Didi Mrs.Veena Gupta while she performing Aarthi to Baba witnessed abundant Udi on the Baba Statue immediately . I requested Mrs. Vijay Bahl to apply Udi on her ailing husband in the Hospital. I took three pinches of Vibhuti from the Baba Statue wrapped in a small paper and went to the Hospital directly. Mrs. Vijay Bahl and myself walked into the Intensive Care Unit and requested Mrs. Vijay Bahl to Pray Baba with Faith and Love and smear Vibhuti on the chest, forehead and a pinch on the tongue.
The ward doctor present there was astonished from that moment onwards the monitor was showing signs of improvement and in the night, when the Doctor checked again, could not believe that he was near normal, that too in a short span of time. After two days, he was shifted to the General ward and then a week later
He was discharged.
Trust me Sai Devotees, Woman Prayers and Sacrifice has turned new leaf of her Husband with Divine Didi Mrs.Veena Gupta's Grace and Mr.Vijay Bhal is still alive and both of his kids are now pursuing College Professional Course while working and eased the parents condition now.

SAI BABA is Miracle
SAI BABA is Miracle
This is an experience of Haresh who was admitted to ICU at One of the hospitals in Ahemdabad. His Dengue fever was not diagnosed at earlier stage and his platelet count had almost fallen to Zero ( it should be 2.5 lakh). One of his relatives who is my colleague, told me about this at around 2pm. I asked him to make a promise to me that if the patient is fine again he will take him to Shirdi and to Pray to Sai baba for his well being. I also prayed to BABA for the patient(at that time i did not even know the name of the patient). By BABA's grace his platelet count started rising by night(10pm). Haresh's relatives had almost lost hope but now he is healthy again and was discharged within a week from the hospital. Such is the miracle of Sai who keeps His devotee's words. Sat guru sai nath maharaj ki Jai.

DEVOTEES' EXPERIENCE ON BABA.
DEVOTEES' EXPERIENCE ON BABA.
Jai Sai Ram,
"I SHALL DRAW OUT MY DEVOTEES FROM JAWS OF DEATH"
How true are these words of Baba, which one can find in CHAPTER III
of Sai Satcharithra by Hemapant!
I can narrate a miracle happened in my life, happened some 10 or 15
years back which is still afresh in my mind. My father suffered a
massive heart attack and admitted into the Intensive care unit of a
Private Hospital at Mylapore, Chennai. The monitor attached to him
was erratic, showing signs of immediate collapse. Doctor who
attended him in the morning, asked me not to go anywhere and remain
there as his end may come at any time. I thought of going to Baba's
temple and praying to Him rather than remaining in that place as my
presence may not be going to make any change in his condition. I
physically ran to Baba's Temple at Mylapore (All India Sai Samaj)
crying and narrated my father's condition to Sri.Kesavaraoji, who
was the President of All India Sai Samaj at that time. When he was
telling me that Baba will always take care of His Devotees'
problems, an ardent devotee of Saibaba came there right from Shirdy
with all his baggages. He told Mr. Kesavraoji that he had come there
to meet him and also to have darshan of Baba before going to his
house at Madipakkam, some 15 KMs from there. By saying this, he gave
an Udi packet, which was brought from Shirdy, to him.
Sri.Kesavraoji immediately gave the Udi packet to me and said that
it was only meant for my father and asked me to apply the same on
his forehead. I again ran back to the Hospital and with the help of
the ward doctor present there, applied the same on his forehead.
From that moment onwards the monitor was showing signs of
improvement and in the night, when the Doctor checked again, could
not believe that he was near normal, that too in a short span of
time. Next day, he was shifted to the General ward and after five
or six days he was discharged. Though my father expired recently, he
never had heart problem till his last day. Please read the first

Jai Sairam,
Ananthsairam.
Please read the first
line. How true it is!
Jai Sairam,
Ananthsairam.
Sri Sai Amrit Vani - 16th August 2007
Sri Sai Amrit Vani
16th August 2007
Jai Sai Ram
Thanks to all well wisher for the best wished sent to Mrs. Gupta for her 60th Birthday.
Last Thursday we were in Bhopal for the Darshan of Maha Kaleshwer and Omkareshwer and did the Pooja and recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani at Bhopal. Baba blessed us there also and now we got the news that they have started a regular program of recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani there on Thursdays.
Today again Sri Sai Amrit Vani was done at Sidhartha Extension and it was again normal in all repect with usual Leelas of Baba.
Following devotees participated in absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra by reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places on 16th August 2007 (The list is sorted as per their email ids, to avoi duplications) . However Mrs. Gupta prayed for all the devotees. In this list only those devotees are included, who themselves recited or read Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places. Kindly mention clearly, against each devotee’s name that he/she will recite or read or listen to Sri Sai Amrit Vani, or the names are for prayers. Please also give the name of the place of all devotees, named in the email. Place is also important without it, the letter is not complete.
This Thursday the 16th Aug. we enjoyed the following Leelas. It may seems to be repitative for the old members, but when the Leela are repetative, so the discription is also repitative. Every week many new members join the group, so I have to repeat the whole events that happen on this day.
Udi started appearing and oozing from the two photos on the wall, photos in the mandir and Staue from Saturday itself. It was Shiv Ratri of Srawan Month , on Saturday. In the night Mrs. Gupta cleaned all the Udi.
On Monday Udi again started oozing and Hindi words ‘RAM’ ‘SHAM’ and ‘OM’, and figure of Trishool were formed with Udi on one photo. On Wednesday Udi started oozing from the main photo in the mandir. ‘RAM’ ‘SHAM’ and ‘OM’ along with other figures were also formed on the photo. From Statue also, Udi started oozing from Wednesday.
On Thursday a Snake with open mouth also appeared on the photo. I am appending the two photos of Baba’s swaroop today.
There was lot of Water from the Charans this week also. Thali was emptied several times. The taste of water was similar to gulab jal and kewara mix. After distribution of Prasad, this water was also given to the devotees and again the Thali was filled with water. Devotees bring bottles to take the water home.
Lap of Mrs. Gupta was filled with Udi during the prayers. Udi was there between the falls of the Sari.
Several devotees had Udi in the books of Sri Sai Amrit Vani.
On Thursday as soon as Bhog was offered, it was duly accepted by Baba and after the Sri Sai Amrit Vani we noticed that the box, which was placed before HIM was partially eaten and partially remained pieces of items in the box. Part of Bhog was on the lips of many photos and statue of Baba. These parts of the remains in the box were given to the devotees who offered that item of bhog to Baba. Partly eaten remains were having some figures on them. If you see carefully the photos, you can still see only some portion of Prasad on the lips of Baba.
Presence of Baba during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani, Prayer and Prayan of Sri Satcharitra was very strong.
All the boxes of Bhog which were kept on the table were blessed with Udi,
The Charnamrit, the water in which Baba took the bath in the morning was also sweet as if some honey has been mixed into it.
Jai Sai Ram
Sri Sai Amrit Vani started at 11:04 AM. Noon Aartee started at 12:00 Hrs. followed by brief Meditation and the prayer, Prayan of Chapter 49 from Sai Satcharitra. Mrs. Gupta offered prayers and thanks to Baba. Finally distribution of Prasad, Udi and the water from the Charans. Devotees narrated their experiences and the benefits they are have with Baba’s Blessings.
Next Sri Sai Amrit Vani on 23th August will again be held at Sidhartha Extension, New Delhi. Devotees interested in attending it in person may contact on phone nos. 26346942, 9810714688 or 9312494767 only after 11 AM (IST) on any day except Thursdays but no calls on Thursdays PLEASE. Sri Sai Amrit Vani - 2nd – 9th August 2007
Sri Sai Amrit Vani
2nd – 9th August 2007
Jai Sai Ram
Just imagine that it is your birthday and that too your 60th birthday and you are standing before Baba and that too in Shirdi. To add more joy, you find that Baba has blessed you also by wearing the dress which you have brought for Him. This is what happened on 2nd August to Mrs Gupta. Words can not explain the feelings, it can just be imagined. Jai Sai Ram
On 2nd August, for attending the Noon Aartee we were sitting on the stairs at Smadhi Mandir on GuruSthan side as we were having the passes. Mrs Gupta did the Sai Amrit Vani there itself at 11 AM.
In the morning also we attended the Kakad Aartee also from this gate. She finished it quickly as she did it silently. At 11:45 we were taken in and stood just before Baba. At 12 we did the Aartee and Mrs Gupta prayed for all the devotees and for herself. In the Mandir’s office room she was also given the Special Prasad.
This time we reached Shirdi on Wednesday morning. Took bath etc, collected passes, had Darshan of Baba and deposited the dress of Baba in the Samadhi Mandir Office. Attended the evening Aatree and the Shej Aartee. Next day it was Thursday and also the birthday of Mrs. Gupta and we attended the Kakad and the Noon Aartee . The whole day we spend with Baba, in Smadhi Mandir, Chawri and in Dwarka Mai. In the evening we saw the Palki procession. Friday also we spend the whole day in Shirdi, visiting Nandeep, Landi Bagh, Small three temples made by Baba Himself and other places. On Friday we departed for Bhopal. In Shirdi we enjoyed a lot with Baba and Baba blessed by wearing the whole dress brought by Mrs Gupta. We had twice the Prasad at Bhojnaley in the Trustees room. Such a worderful blessings.
From Shirdi we visited Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain and had Darshan of Maha Kaleshwer, Omkareshwer and Mamleshwer. It was also wonderful experience. In Ujjain we saw, Eskon temple, Baba’s temple on Ujjain-Indore Highway and Kaal Bharow Temple among some other small temples.
In Indore we spend the night at Shanti Niketan and in the morning when Mrs Gupta did the Pooja at the small Mandir of the host. Udi started oozing from the photo of Baba.
On 9th August, Thursday, Udi was oozing from Tuesday in the mandir of the host. There were about 25 devotees, who attended the Sri Sai Amrit Vani. There also Mrs Gupta prayed for all the devotees.
I am attaching the photos of Indore and Bhopal, as they say much more than the words can describe.
During 31th July to 10th Aug I was not be able to access internet and so could not write or read any email, so sorry I missed some timely emails.
All the devotee were prayed.
