Nine Gems Of Devotion To Sai (Saibhakti)

The following is sent to me by a Sai Bhakt...

The style of living of saints is really very sweet even though it seem to be full of hardships. They have manifested for us on this earth, since God themselves could not come in the form of human beings. Saints show us the way to achieve self realization. They make us to follow the path of their own remembrance which ultimately leads us to union with God. Sai Baba was one such saint, but the only exception was that He was God Incarnate but lived like a saint, a human, among others. He never claimed to be God, but always uttered that He was faithful servant of His mater (God).Due to merits of past births, we have got the birth of a human being. So we should be ever conscious to attain the objective of our life i.e. self realization. We should leave all our ego, intelligence, laziness and be alert to reach to our goal. This goal can be achieved by remembering Sai Baba in some or the other way.It is very well known incident that Sai Baba gave nine coins to Smt. Laxmibai before leaving His mortal body. This indicated nine types of devotion of Him. Moreover Sai Baba has emphasized nine types of Bhakti 1. Shravan (hearing) 2. Kirtan (praying) 3 .Smaran (remembering) 4. Padasevan (resorting to feet) 5. Archan (worship) 6. Namaskar (bowing) 7. Dasya (service) 8. Sakhyam (friendship) 9. Atmanivedan (surrender of the self). All these types of Bhakti are included in the Nine Gems of Sai Bhakti as under (arranged in descending order of their importance), if practiced regularly would surely make you pass the Bhavsagar (ocean of life)

1. Shri Sai SatcharitraThis sacred book written by Govindrao Dabholkar is as much important as Guru Charitra for Sai devotees. This book is originally written in Marathi language and including preface there are in all 53 chapters (adhyayas). Along with Sai Baba’s biography and various miracles, it also consists of a very wide range of Sai Baba’s updesh and description of Vedant. This book was written when Sai Baba dwelled in His mortal body with His permission. So it has been proved to be very fruitful. Many Sai devotees does parayan (continuous reading for 7 days i.e. a week) and many of them reads at least one chapter everyday.

2. Shri Sai Nath Stavan ManjariThis stotra, composed by Dasganu Maharaj, was completed on 9/9/1918 i.e. it was completed when Sai Baba was among us. It consists of 153 ovis (poem). This is Sai devotee’s favourite bhajan and many have been benefited by it. If not recited daily, Sai devotees can recite it on every Thursday and on Ekadashi day (11th day of full moon phase and 11th day of no moon phase).

3. Shri Sai Nath Mahim StotraThis Mahim stotra is in Sanskrit language and it is composed by Upasani Maharaj of Sakori during his stay in Shirdi in the year 1911. It is chanted in Madhyayan Arti and Dhoop Arti in Shirdi Samadhi Mandir. Mahim means Mahima i.e. importance and stotra means poem in the form of Stuti i.e. remembering God’s name. In Sanskrit language Shiv mahim stotra is very famous. Upasani Maharaj has composed this stotra from Shiv Mahim stotra only. In all the verses, Sai Baba is said to be Sadguru and God. But in verse 8 and 10, Sai Baba is called Parabrahma and Lord Ram in the form of Sai Baba.Like Shiv mahim stotra is also best instrument to achieve our family deity Sai Baba. In the last verse i.e 15 th verse, Upasani Maharaj has added that if a devotee reads this with full devotion and heartily, Sai Nath should surely shower His grace on him.

4. Shri Sai Baba Ashtottrashat NamavaliIt is 108 names of Sai Baba in Sanskrit and is recited during holy bath of Sai Baba in Shirdi by the poojari. It is composed by a famous Sai devotee of Madras, Late Shri Narsinghswami. It consists of many difficult words, but if it is learnt by heart, it can be recited in 4.5 minutes very easily. These words appear in the last page of Stavan Manjari composed by Dasganu Maharaj and published by Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan.

5. Arti Sai BabaThis famous Arti is recited during Madhyayan Arti and Dhoop Arti in Shirdi. It appears in chapter 33 of Sai Satcharitra. It is composed by a devotee named Madhav Aadkar. It has importance due to following incident. In chapter 33, Sai Baba made Shama (Madhavrao Despande) to write it on a page and gave it to Bapugir Bua to be given to Nanasaheb Chandorkar to save his daughter from death, who was away many miles. This shows that this Arti was accepted by Sai Baba himself. The Arti consists of a verse :कलियुगी अवतार सगुण परब्रह्मसाचार अवतीर्ण जलसे स्वामी दत्त दिगंबर, दत्त दिगंबर.This means Sai Baba had accepted that He was one with Lord Dattatreya. As soon as Nanasaheb Chandorkar received the Arti he started reciting it and his daughter was relived from the pain of delivery. Moreover she could deliver safely and at the same point of time. Today also this importance is fulfilled and devotees may very come to know once they have started it.

6. Udi of Sai Baba’s Dhuni MaaTo Sai devotees Udi is like sanjeevani (a life giving herb) which cures all diseases of body and mind. Many devotees have assured of Udi working for them in the said way. The moment one applies it, he/she can feel that the body has now became pure and holy and as if Sai Baba has put His Holy Hand on one’s head to give blessings. Devotees become happy with the divine bliss.

7. Darshan of Samadhi Mandir and Dwarkamai:Sai Baba is present everywhere there is no doubt in this. So if we pray to Him sitting in our homes also, so it is not at all necessary to go to Shirdi or any other Sai Mandir. But in Shirdi Sai Baba’s mortal body is present. One should go to Shirdi to charge himself/herself at least once in a year. Likewise when a vehicle’s battery has to be charged again and again when the battery power goes low, in the same way by going to Shirdi once in a year, we can charge up the battery of devotion.

8. Sai Baba’s NameThis is the easiest way of devotion and moreover it is the best method. Sai Baba liked Naamsmaram (chanting of God’s name) and He made His devotees to do Naamsaptah (continuous chanting of God’s name for a week).

9. Sai Baba’s MeditationNo saints had said this type of devotion, but Sai Baba had said to Radhabai of Sangamner and clarified it to her. Leaving other types of devotion, devotees must meditate in front of Sai Baba’s photograph or idol by sitting alone. Even while doing other work, one can bring Sai Baba Sagun form ( bodily form) in front of their eyes. we should keep Sai Baba’s picture in front of our eyes, and can meditate on Him. Sai Baba would be present there also.

Sri Sai Amrit Vani and Prayan of Sai Leelamrit

Sri Sai Amrit Vani and Prayan of Sai Leelamrit

24th April 2008

Jai Sai Ram

Sorry for the delay in reporting this week. I was bussy in Chandigarh. It was again a normal Thursday with normal Leelas of Baba but for the most important one. Baba did not blessed the bhog this week. There was no Udi on any of the boxes, placed on the table before HIM, but he did eat the bhog and all the pieces in the box placed before HIM were eaten. We could not understand the meaning of this Leela.
I have already sent all the letters received for prayers and for the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani except the confidential ones, so I have not prepared the list of those devotees who took part in the pooja by reciting/reading or listening Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places.

This Thursday the 24th April 2008 , we enjoyed the following Leelas of Baba (of Shirdi).

1. Udi started to ooz from the different photos and Statue of Baba at different stages of time. Hindi words `RAM' `SHAM' `OM' were formed with Udi on one photo in the mandir and another photo on the wall.

2. This Thursday also, the Holy Water started oozing from the Charans from Thursday early morning. A Thali was placed in the night of Wednesday itself, as water starts oozing from the early morning. Thali was emptied several times. The taste of water was similar to gulab jal and kewara mix. This water was also given to the devotees and again the Thali was filled with water.

3. Lap of Mrs. Gupta was filled with lots of Udi during the prayers. Udi was in the folds of the falls of the Sari. Her hands were also filled with Udi.

4. It has also become regular leela of Baba that many other devotees also had Udi on them, in their laps, their shawls or cloths.

5. Several devotees had Udi in the books of Sri Sai Amrit Vani.

6. Bhog , which was placed before HIM was partially eaten. Part of Bhog was on the lips of photo and statue of Baba. Different items were there on lips in different photos. Parts of the remains in the box were given to the devotees who offered that item of bhog to Baba.

7. The feeling of Presence of Baba was very strong during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja and Prayer.

8. Many photos, papers and documents etc. which were placed before Baba and the same were blessed without any delay.

Jai Sai Ram
Sri Sai Amrit Vani started at 11:05 AM. Noon Aartee, the same Aartee which is being recited in Shirdi, started at 12:00 Hrs. followed by brief Meditation and the prayer, Prayan from Sri Sai Amrit Nidhi was done. Mrs. Gupta offered prayers and thanks to Baba. Aatree of Maa was done. Finally distribution of Prasad and the water from the Charans. As usual some devotees talked about their experiences. (If devotees find it difficult to recite from 11 AM, they can do it any time, as convenient to them.)

Next Sri Sai Amrit Vani and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra/ Sai Leelamrit on 1st May 2008 will again be held at Sidhartha Extension, New Delhi. Devotees interested in attending it in person may contact on phone nos. 26346942, 9868966605 or 9312494767 only after 11 AM and before 8 PM (IST) on any day except Thursdays but no calls on Thursdays PLEASE. They should NOT bring any bhog with them and be in time. Kids are also not allowed in the hall. Mobiles have to be put on silent mode during the Pooja. Please also bring a small bottle with broad neck for the holy water.

Scripts of Sri Sai Amrit Vani in Tamil , Devnagri (Hindi), English, Spanish, Telugu and Gujrati are available in the file section of the yahoogroup. Links of Audio MP3 files are also given in the link section of the home page of `mysaibaba20' yahoogroup. To go to home page of yahoogroup key in or click http://groups. yahoo.com/group/mysaibaba20 . Audio Mp3 file has also been made available in the publication section of http://saimemorial.com , the site of Sai Memorial Temple of Baba of Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

This activity of Sri Sai Amrit Vani and Recitation of Sai Satcharitra/ Sai Leelamrit will be in addition to any other pooja or sewa or prayer that you are doing.

Jai Sai Ram.

AMBROSIA AFTER MAHASAMADHI (Contd)

The following Sai Bhakt sent me this!

AMBROSIA AFTER MAHASAMADHI (Contd)

5. BABA SAVED SHRI G. B. MANKAR AND HIS MEN FROM THE JAWS OF DEATH
In his letter, Shri G. B. Mankar has stated to Shri Tarkhad in 1923 during his work in his work field, it has to lift a 375 horse power diesel engine (weight 12 tons) in a fly crane. As the fly crane was not so strong to bear the weight of the engine, a cracking sound came from the crane and all were afraid. Then Shri Mankar cried out “Sai Baba” and invoked His help. After his utterance all of a sudden smell of rose flowers and agarbattis spread over the field and Baba has appeared on the spot and saved all the people from the jaws of death. Mankar saw baba and again cried out "Baba".
All others meant that “Kaka” of Mankar came there. But Mankar has cleared their doubt and that Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi had came to the spot and saved them from the jaws of death. Is this incident does not show that Baba is living and lending His helping hand to His devotees as and when they are in trouble ?

6. BABA SAVED SHRI R. MOREWALA FROM FALLING DOWN FROM THE TRAIN
Shri R. Morewala Solicitor of Bombay was not so much religious minded. But he has got faith in Baba. In 1953 he was going to Thana by a train. The train was over crowded and hence he could not get into the train and was standing at the door. Then the train moved. Owing to the pushing of the crowd from inside the train, he fell down from the door and while falling down, he uttered the name of Shri Sai Baba. The chain was pulled out by one old man and the train was stopped. That old man caught the hand of Morewala and prevented him from falling down. All the people and the guard came to see why the train was stopped and who pulled the chain? Shri R. Morewala also wanted to pay tribute to the old man. But the old man was not there and he had disappeared. All were surprised, Shri Morewala went to his house and told this incident to all his family members. This incident was told to his son when he went to Chalisgaon in 1964 by a Saint "That had I not saved your father's life in 1953?" Is this not mean that Baba is still living and helping His devotees when they require His help?

7. BABA SAVED SHRI K. JAGADISH MUNSHI FROM THE HANDS OF RAZAKARS
On 1948, Shfi Jagadish K. Munshi and his wife were travelling in first class compartment of the train going from Bangalore to Bombay . There were six members in the compartment including an old couple and two youngsters. Shri J. K. Munshi and his wife were playing cards. The old man was praying and his wife was watching the others. Before their departure from Bangalore , they had been advised not to travel by this particular route because of Razakars trouble then prevailing in other places of Hyderabad state. They did not pay any heed to the advice as they were youngsters then. The train left Hyderabad and was approaching Sholapur Station in Indian Union. All of a sudden, the train was forced to stop at Gangapur. The Razakars who assembled there with rifles, lathis and other lethal weapons cried out "All Muslims get down. Kill all Hindus". The old man all along in prayer ordered to close all the doors and windows. They promptly carried out his orders. The wailing of passengers who were pulled out of the train, beaten and robbed and field into the nearby fields. The Rasakars repeatedly tried to force to open the doors of their compartment but failed to do so. Even in this calamity the old man observed his prayer. The struggle went on nearby for five hours. Then the train came to Sholapur with their only one compartment. All the inmates of the compartments arrived safely untouched by the Razakars. After somedays of this incident, the old man gave an article in a magazine that because of his prayers to Shri Sai Baba Shirdi that the compartment of the train escaped unhurt by the Razakars. As a witness, he mentioned the name of Shri Jagadish K. Munshi in the article. He told that it was true that the old man was particularly praying at the time and added that he had never heard the name of Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi he forgotten to thank of him. Later on, in 1953, when calamities came in his family, he saw a picture of Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi which was hung in a frame maker's shop on his way to his office. He looked his teachings in the photo as "If you look to me, I shall took to you” Then he remembered the past incident and with his wife's consent, he bought one Sai Baba's photo and performed puja requesting Baba to solve his problems, within a few days thereafter, all his problems had settled at his reasonable satisfaction and the puja went on regularly.
After two years, he was once traveling by a night train left Surat to Bombay . After the train left Surat railway station he developed severe pain on account of stone in the bladder. The pain aggravated in such a manner that he could neither sit, stand nor lie down. He then began to pass blood through urine. His copassenger was sleeping. When the train came to Palghar, the pain was so severe that he woke up his copassenger and urged him to call the guard. The guard came and complained the position that no doctor could be traced in the train and advised to get down at Palghar and have a treatment from a local doctor. The guard called the Station Master and under their joint advice, he got down at Palghar and the train left the railway station. With the help of Station Master, he was lifted up into a bullock cart and driven to the doctor's residence as the doctor refused to come to the railway station in the late hours of the night. In this critical juncture he prayed Shri Sai Baba for help. The doctor attended on him and gave treatment and he was somehow relieved of the pain. The doctor also sent a call to his relatives at Bombay and they arrived and took him to Bombay the next day. Even for this incident, he did not consider any particular significance to Shri Sai Baba Shirdi. In 1968, his father took him to Sri Satya Sai Baba and introduced to him Shri Satya Sai Baba Said, "I knew him. He is a believer of Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi for the last 16 years. Once he got out of the train in severe pain and called Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi. It was Shirdi Sai Baba who saved him. This utterance of Shri Satya Sai Baba himself assumed significance to Shri Sai Baba Shirdi by him.
In 1959, his one month old daughter fell ill severely and was admitted to the Hospital. The treatment went on for three weeks. Even then the child had been suffering high temperature, his wife and himself were very morose. On 14-11-1959, they were informed by two leading doctors that the survival of the child were remote. He decided that if the child does not survive he would end his worship to Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi. After this decision by him, the temperature of the child decreased gradually and became normal by 7 P.M. within three months of this incident the child was in the pink of health. In March, 1960, they visited Shirdi by car with the child of five months. On the way the child uttered first words "BA-BA-BA-BA" He told that Shri Sai Baba Shirdi is solving his knotted problems of his existence and guiding him. Apart from all these, a great problem among the devotees that Shri Satya Sai Baba is the reincarnation of Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi was been solved beyond doubt by Shri Satya Sai Baba himself in his own sayings in para 2 of this article that he is not re-incaranation of Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi. Surrender Shri Sai Completely Stupendous Delectation and Deliverance be there

8. BABA SAVED A WOMAN FROM DEATH
In 1927, a husband and wife were returning home after celebrating Ramanavami at Shirdi. The wife got down at Thana railway Station to fetch water and just when with a water full vessel, she was boarding the train, the train started and the woman fell down under the train. The husband and other passengers combined shouted to the guard to stop the train. They feared, the woman must have been crushed under the wheels as the train having started already stopped only after it had gone some distance. They ran up to the spot of accident; to their utter amazement they saw the woman standing there uninjured. In reply to the enquiry to all, "the woman said as soon as I fell I remembered Baba. He at once appeared, stood in front of me pressed me hard against the platform till the train passed away and saved me. Baba disappeared as soon as the train left the platform. What sort of Body, Baba had assumed to save this woman? One can hardly know for usually there is no room enough to stand for two persons between the train wheels and the platform, and yet what is not possible to a superman like Baba?

Sai Baba financially helped a poor man for expenses of his marriage

Some Sai Bhakt sent me this and I wanted to share with you all!

A poor man named Laxmanrao Govindrao Munge lived in Nashik. He used to sit in the threshold of Nashik court. He did some documentation work and at the end of the day he earned only one rupee or one and half rupee.

In those days, for a girl to be given in marriage, only boy’s qualification, salary, etc was not considered by her family. The boy may be poor, but his family, family’s behaviour with others and above all maternal uncle’s family had to be good. Laxmanrao’s maternal uncle lived in Rahata village. Due to his maternal uncle’s good family background and high position, Laxmanrao’s marriage was fixed in a good family. Now the question was of money for the expenses of his marriage. He had to compulsorily give gold ornaments and the whole expense of his marriage was to be borne single handed. Moreover in those days a man was valued by his word of mouth. If a man had promised to give something in social functions like marriage or similar occasions, those words could not be taken back. It would be better to consume poison rather than turn back from one’s words.

Laxmanrao was worried about the expenses. Like a person has hope on a single star in a dark night, so Laxmanrao had hope from his uncle. He was confident that his uncle would help him in monetary terms. Thinking likewise, he started to Rahata to his uncle’s place from Nashik. In between, he came to Shirdi, Sai Baba’s holy land.

Laxmanrao came to Sai Baba’s Dwarkamai and fell at His feet. Sai Baba gave him two mangoes to eat. The mangoes were incredibly sweet in taste. Then Laxmanrao sat massaging Sai Baba’s feet. Sai Baba started talking with him and said, “Whatever is written in your fate, you are bound to get. Always have a feeling of satisfaction in your heart and be happy with whatever you have. Without God’s order, even a leaf cannot move. So don’t worry and always try to be simple, honest and truthful. I am independent and have independent thoughts, is said by many people, but this is not true. God is the only Doer, we are dependent on Him, my son! No one is relative of anyone. Relatives are only for show off, but no one come to help you in critical situations. If you want one-two thousand rupees, I can give you. Laxmanrao failed to understand what Sai Baba wanted to say. He then left for Rahata to his uncle’s place. His uncle refused to help him. Now Laxmanrao was reminded of Sai Baba’s words that, “No one is relative of anyone. Relations and relatives are only for show off. If you want I can give you money. Walking out of Rahata village, he further thought, “Everyday Sai Baba distributes all the money received as dakshina and next day He becomes a poor Fakir. Then how can He give me such a big amount of money?” But now he started praying to Sai Baba mentally, “Oh God, Sainath! You are omnipotent. I don’t have that much courage to understand your sweet words. I am not very intelligent and my devotion to You is also less than that. Oh God! Bless me. You have promised me to give one-two thousand rupees, but I cannot understand the exact meaning of your words”. Now he reached to a place named Sinnor.

There was a big business of cigarettes and tobacco of Gujarati traders in Sinnor and Laxmanrao was initially introduced to a Gujarati Trader. After a couple of meetings, the trader generated trust on Laxmanrao. So he gave Laxmanrao 30 Tolas (a tola means 10 gram of gold), a nose ring, which is considered to be very important in Marathi Tradition and a diamond studded pair anklets. In this way Sai Baba arranged money for the expenses of Laxmanrao’s marriage being a poor Fakir. Is it not Sai Baba's Leela He Laxmanrao met the Gujarati trader and in turn was helped by a stranger. Thus by Sai Baba’s grace, Laxmanrao’s marriage went off without any trouble and he was ever grateful to Sai Baba.

Satsang Let us celebrate SRI RAMANAVAMI festival.
Dear Saibandhus,

SaiRam - Let us celebrate SRI RAMANAVAMI festival on 13-4-2008 (Sunday) and receive the Blessings of Lord Sainath. SREERAMA-NAVAMI FESTIVAL in Shirdi - from Sai Satcharita-Chapter VI “This day (Sree RamaNavami) was very dear and sacred to the devotees of Sai Baba. Most of them turned out on the occasion, and took a leading part in the management of the fair. Tatya Kote Patil took charge of all outside affairs, while the internal management was totally looked after by Radha Krishna Mai, a devotee of Baba. Her house was full of guests on the occasion, and she had to look after their needs, besides arranging paraphernalia related to the fair.. Feeding the poor, which was so dear to Sai Baba, was also an important item in this fair.” Please view the VIDEO “Sai in Ramayan” (Saidarbar presentation) from the below link http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4750532170420342389 and give your feedback on saidarbar@gmail.com With best regards, SaiSevak SrinivasaRao Kasturi. For http://www.saidarbar.org/

5 Reasons Why God Uses Problems

Some Sai Bhakth sent me the following..and I wanted to share with you all..

5 Reasons Why God Uses Problems

The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you - depending on how you respond to them.
Unfortunately, most people fail to see how God wants touse problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring.
Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life:
1.God Uses Problems To DIRECT U
Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention? "Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways."
2. God Uses Problems To INSPECT U
People are like tea bags...if you want to know what's inside them, just drop them into hot ever water! Has God tested your faith with a problem What do problems reveal about you? "When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience."
3. God Uses Problems To CORRECT U
Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned. Sometimes we only learn the value of something... health, money, a relationship. .. by losing it. "It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to your laws."
4. God Uses Problems To PROTECT U
A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem - but it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year later when management's actions were eventually discovered. "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good...
5. God Uses Problems To PERFECT U
Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders.God is far more interested in your character than your comfort. Your relationship to God and your character are the only two things you're going to take with you into eternity."We can rejoice when we run into problems... they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady."
Here's the point Ad:God is at work in your life - even when you do not recognize it or understand it. But it's much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him.
"Success can be measured not only in achievements, but in lessons learned, lives touched and moments shared along the way"

श्री साई अमृत वाणी एंड परायण ऑफ़ साई लीलामृत

श्री साई अमृत वाणी एंड परायण ऑफ़ साई लीलामृत
१७थ् अप्रिल २००८
जै साई राम
At the beginning of the week Udi and Sindoor was oozing from the Photos and the statue of Baba and different swaroops of Maa. On Asthmi Mrs. Gupta collected all the sindoor. Udi continued to ooz. I had already sent the photos of different swaroops of Maa with Sindoor.
Following devotees participated in absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers to Baba ( Shirdi) and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra/ Sai Leelamrit by reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places on 17th April 2008. However Mrs. Gupta prayed for all the devotees, who wrote to us. In this list only those devotees are included, who themselves recited or read/listen Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places.
This Thursday the 17th April 2008 , we enjoyed the following Leelas of Baba (of Shirdi).
1. Udi continued to ooz from Sunday from the different photos and Statue of Baba.
6. On Thursday as soon as Bhog was offered, it was duly accepted by Baba. We noticed that the Bhog , which was placed before HIM was partially eaten. Part of Bhog was on the lips of photo and statue of Baba. Different items were there on lips in different photos. Parts of the remains in the box were given to the devotees who offered that item of bhog to Baba.
7. Some portion of the bhog were also found on the Statues of Baba, brought by the devotees.
8. The feeling of Presence of Baba was very strong during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja and Prayer.
9. All the boxes of Bhog, which were kept on the table were blessed with Udi.
10. Many photos, papers and documents etc. which were placed before Baba and the same were blessed without any delay.

Present Shirdi as said by Sai Baba a century ago

The following message has been sent to me by some Sai bhakth
Present Shirdi as said by Sai Baba about a Century ago:
In Shirdi village, when there were no arrangements for lights also, when Baba wrote the future of Shirdi as:
“Yahaa Bazaar Bharegaa, Bade Bade Log Aayenge, Subedaar Aayegaa, Fozdaar Aayegaa,
Naach Hogaa, Kanchan Hogaa, Mere Allaah Ki Kudrat Aabaad Hai,
Mungi Sarikhe Lok Aayegaa, Haathi Aayegaa, Ghodaa Aayegaa,
Bade Bade Khel Tamaashaa Hoyegaa,
Yah Mere Guru Ki Jagaah Hai, Yahaa Guruvaar – Sukravaar Dhoop Daalna Betaa,
Chaavadi Se Le Kar Sadak Tak Tak Mere Allaaah Ki Jagah Hai,
Zameen Ke Pet Mein Haddi Hogi,
Tab Bhi Meri Haddiyaa Logo Ke Saath Baate Karegi,
Meraa Dhyaan Karke Jo Khadaa Rahegaa,
Unke Saath Saat Samundar Paar Bhi Main Khadaa Hoon,
Koi Saat Tukade Karnewaalaaa Ayaa, To Use Se Main Daadha Se Nikaalnewaalaa Hoon,
Waisi Meri Allaah Ki Kudrat Hain”

Thses words of Baba would seem to be simple to the person hearing by ears only, but many learned men like Kakasaheb Dixit, Raosaheb Khaparde were unable to come out with the meaning of these words.

Meaning of Baba’s words:

In the year 1882-1887 A.D., Baba had said these words for Shirdi, which was somewhere in the darkness of some corner of Maharashtra State .
“Here multistoried buildings would be built, there would be a big market. Many rich men would come, many high post learned men would come.
Oh what should I say! God has not given introduction of his full grace yet (to Shirdi village).
Many people will flock like ants. Great kings (ministers and prime ministers) sitting on the elephants would come.
Son! Whosoever lights Dhoop on my Guru’s place on Thursday and Friday all his wishes and desires will be fulfilled.
From Chaavadi till the road, the place is of my Master.
Although when My Sagun Roop (Bodily form) will not be visible my bones would speak to people. They will give courage to my sad devotees.
I will run to My devotees even if they are across seven seas.
I will save My devotees from any type of difficulties and troubles.”
In this way Sai Baba had said about the future of Shirdi to Mhlasapati when they slept together in Dwarkamaee and Chaavadi on every alternate day.

Sai Baba’s each and every word has come out to be true and we can see how present Shirdi is flocked by people like ants. This only suggests that Sai Baba is Creator, Protector and Destroyer of this world. Though He is not with us physically, we can feel His presence not only in Shirdi but everywhere.

AMBROSIA AFTER MAHASAMADHI

Some Sai Bhakth sent me the following
AMBROSIA AFTER MAHASAMADHI
AMBROSIA IN SHIRDI
(A BOOK NEVER BEFORE)
DEDICATED TO
ANTARYAMIN SHIRI SAI BABA, SHIRDI
STORIES AFTER BABA'S MAHASAMADHI ON 15-10-1918
WRITTEN
BY
RAMALINGASWAMY, LIFE MEMBER
SHRI SAI BABA SANSTHAN, SHIRDI,
AT MUNJA BABA STHAN, SHIRDI
1. BABA PROVED HIMSELF THAT THERE WERE NO SISHYAS NO RELATIVES, NO INCARNATIONS NO SUCCESSORS AND NO HEREDITARY TO HIM
Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi took His Mahasamadhi on 15-10-1918. After His Mahasamadhi, Baba's Samadhi was not looked after in a fit manner upto 1922. Having seen the maintenance of Baba's Samadhi by the villagers, Shri Kakasaheb Dixit came to Shirdi, settled an office with a managing committee under Public Trust Act with the approval of the District Court, Ahmednagar. At that time, Shri Abdul Baba was performing Abhishek to Baba's Samadhi and the Maha Naivedyam food was given to him and he was allowed to take his residence in the room situated in the left side of the Samadhi Mandir. Shri Abdul Baba was the then only local leading devotee of Baba. He was then having about four or five thousand rupees of Baba's dakshina amount with him offered by Baba's devotees. Some well wishers of him induced him that he was the legal heir to Baba and that the formation of the Trust was against justice. Thereby Abdul Baba filed a suit stating that he was the legal heir to Baba, against the Trust Body in the District Court, Ahmednagar. The bellowed District Court by the grace of Baba passed orders that Abdul Baba has no connection of the maintenance of the Sansthan of Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi and that there was no heir or successor to Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi. On the strength of this order the Maha Naivedyam food given to him was stopped by the Sansthan and he was made to vacate his room in Baba's Samadhi Mandir. As Baba said, that He would be with the same power for one thousand years and looking after the welfare of His devotees, He himself proved that there were no Sishyas, no relatives, no hereditary, no successor, no rebirth and no reincarnation to Him.
Surrender Shri Sai Completely Stupendous Delectation and Deliverance be there
2. HOW SHRI MUKTHARAM, A STAUNCH DEVOTEE OF BASA FARED WHEN HE WANTED TO OCCUPY BABA'S GADI
Shri Muktharam was a staunch devotee of Baba. Baba gave a Kupni to him. He lived in Dixit Wada by keeping a Dhuni. After some days of Baba's Samadhi, he came and sat in Baba's Gadi in Dwarakamayee. As soon as he sat in Baba's Gadi against the wishes of the villagers he began to vomit blood and he was taken to his residence in the Dixit Wada. The devotees decided to take him to Kopargaon Hospital . Before the decision was taken with whom he was to be sent to Kopargaon, he died in Dixit Wada itself. His Samadhi is in Lendi Baug. This incident also goes to show that Baba was not willing to allow anybody to occupy His Gadi.
Surrender Shri Sai Completely Stupendous Delectation and Deliverance be there
3. BABA PROVED THAT THIS WAS NO REBIRTH TO HIM
When Baba was in flesh and blood He told that I would take rebirth. Having ground on this word of Baba, people in some places pose that they were Sai and their words were Sai's words. In 1943 a boy in Amravati was directing people that he was Sai Himself and that he earned a lot of money and began to utilize for himself. Then the people realised his deceit and found that there was not even a bit of Sai's cult in him and ignored him afterwards.
Secondly, another person near Madras began to tell people's aim in their mind for the present and the past (Mind reading) and began to earn in Sai's name due to his greediness. Once he told to the people "why are you people wandering for the dead Sai Baba. I am with life here". On hearing these words from him, people determined that he was not the rebirth of Sai Baba as Baba Himself told that "Saints never die".
Surrender Shri Sai Completely Stupendous Delectation and Deliverance be there
4. HOW BABA HADE MADHAVRAO DEHSPANDE (SHAMA) TO HAND OVER HIS PADUKAS, PHOTOS ETC. TO BABA'S SANSTHAN WHICH HE KEPT IN HIS HOUSE AFTER BABA'S MAHASAMADHI
After Baba's Mahasarradhi, Madhava Rao Deshpande alias Shama an intimate local devotee of Baba was managing the Dixit Wada. He was looking after the welfare of the devotees and resided in Dixit Wada itself. After the formation of Baba's Sansthan Committee the Committee demanded agreement (Baada Chitti in Marathi) from him for his residence in Dixit Wada. Madhava Rao first refused. But later, Shri S. B. Dhumal and Shri B. V. Dec intervened and Madhava Rao gave the agreement. After some days, the committee vacated Madhava Rao from his residence in Dixit Wada. At the time of vacating, he had taken away Baba's silver Padukas, Baba's Photos etc. to his house from Dixit Wada. After knowing this, the committee asked Madhava Rao to hand over the above articles of Baba to the Sansthan. He refused first. But Shri S. B, Dhumal went to his house with a big procession of bhajan, band etc. On seeing this procession Madhava Rao handed over all the above articles of Baba to Shri S. B. Dhumal. These Baba's Padukas were placed before Baba's Photo in Dwarakamayee wherein lakhs of devotees are taking darshan of the above Baba's Padukas now.
By reading these items (I) to (4) it is clear, evident and proved beyond all reasonable doubts by the grace of Baba that there were no sishyas, no hereditary, no relatives, no successor, no rebirth and no reincarnation to Him. Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi from His Mahasamadhi till date and even upto the year 2918 as was told by Him, He Himself is affecting the welfare of His devotees. Now let us read how Baba was effecting and is now affecting the welfare of His devotees.

In Sai's Proximity

Some Sa Bhakth forwarded me this message...I'm enclosing here for all the devotees
In Sai's Proximity
– Mrs. Mugdha Divadkar
BhAUSAHEB DHUMAL
ShrI Sakharam Balwant Dhumal, an ardent devotee of Baba, was a well-known lawyer from Nasik. His word carried considerable weight in government offices. He was a staunch social reformer. From 1917 to 1925, he worked as the first non-government chairman of district local board. Due to his pre-occupation with this chairmanship, he could devote limited time to his private practice. However, the government considered his this sacrifice and honored him as `Rao Bahaddur'. After 1925, Dhumal once again concentrated on his private practice. Due to Baba's blessings, his practice flourished in spite of being away from the field for 8 long years.
He was extremely pious. Before he became a devotee of Baba, he was a follower of Shri Gajanan Maharaj. He first went to avail Darshan of Shri Sai Baba in the year 1907. And he was at once got attracted with the radiant personality. In the first visit itself, Baba asked him for a Dakshina of Rs. 2. On receiving it Baba promptly returned the amount to Dhumal and said, "Preserve these ! Don't spend or give them away !!"
He was a close friend of Bapusaheb Butti of Nagpur. Therefore, soon Dhumal took Bapusaheb Butti with him to Shirdi. Like Dhumal, Butti also became an ardent devotee of Baba in the very first visit.
Once, Baba said to Dhumal, "Are Bhau, I take care of you at every moment. If I don't do so, I don't know what will happen." On one more occasion, Baba said to him, ``Bhau, whole night I was unable to sleep." Bhausaheb enquired "What was the reason Baba ?" Baba replied, ``The etire night I thought about you and only about you." Hearing these words of Baba, Bhausaheb was moved with mixed emotions – surprise, love and gratitude. He was sad that Baba was doing so much for a mere mortal like him. But, he was convinced that Baba was the only saviour Who will protect him from evil happening in future.
Dhumal's entire life was spent in his ancestral house at Nasik. Once, there was an epidemic of plague all around and on top of that he found a dead rat – a deadly carrier of a fatal epidemic of plague – in his house. He did not know whether he should move his family out of the house for sometime and save everyone's life. He sent his query in a letter to Baba, Who asked him to move into another house. He did accordingly. However, in this also another dead rat was found in the same night. Dhumal again enquired, whether he should leave the second house also. Baba replied in negative. Dhumal acted accordingly keeping full faith in Baba.
A few days later, some more dead rats were spotted at different places in the same house. Dhumal once again sent a letter to Baba and in the meantime, anticipating a positive reply, packed his belongings to move to a third house. Baba replied, "Why move ? Stay where you are !" Dhumal did likewise and continued staying in the house. Around him, he saw daily 14-15 deaths because of the epidemic. But, no harm came to him or his family.
In 1909, when Dhumal was only 36 years old, his wife died an untimely death. He was young, dashing and a well-known lawyer. His friends and relatives began persuading him to get married once again. However, Dhumal was firmly of view that such a marriage was possible only if permitted by Baba. A famous lawyer from Nagpur – Bapusaheb Kinkhede – took him to Baba to seek the permission. Baba just glanced at him and Kinkhede realized that the permission has been declined. Till his death, Dhumal adhered to Baba's wishes and remained single. He had earned a lot of fame and money in his profession. However, he gradually absolved himself of family responsibilities and turned toward Virakti.
After the death of his wife, Dhumal concentrated his energies on further studies in the legal professional and started planning for Barrister-ship. Bapusaheb Butti showed readiness to finance his study abroad as well as expenses of Dhumal's family in India. However, Baba declined permission saying, "Your Vilayat (England) is here only." Dhumal adhered to Baba's wishes.
This is an incident which took place in the year 1910. At that time, there were two warring groups in Shirdi. One of the groups targeted Raghuji Shinde (elder brother of Bhagoji Shinde, a Sevekari of Baba) and 4 others and falsely implicated them in a case of molestation of a Marwadi woman. Tatya Patil was confident that these people are innocent. But, several learned persons like Dadasaheb Khaparde, Kakasaheb Dixit, Raobahadur Sathe etc. felt that it was difficult to prove so.
Tatya Patil approached Baba and He advised him to go to Dhumal. Dhumal felt that a lawyer from Mumbai would be necessary to handle the case. However, Tatya pointed out that Baba had Himself suggested his name. Then, Dhumal studied the matter in detail and prepared necessary papers. He visited the British district magistrate at his residence and presented his papers.
The district magistrate said, "At a first glance, there appears to be a prima facie evidence. What do you say ?" Dhumal replied that "This case and its witnesses is a work of fabrication and is a result of enmity between two warring factions." The district magistrate enquired, "Are, you fully convinced about this ?" Dhumal expressed his utmost faith. The district magistrate issued orders releasing the persons. British district magistrate expressed interest in Sai Baba and said that he would like to visit Him.
The persons were released without discussing the matter with police prosecutor or without studying and reading any other papers. Dhumal knew, what power had come to the rescue of the concerned persons.
At the same time in Shirdi, Kakasaheb Dixit's 7 years daughter passed away. Everyone was making preparations for her funeral when Baba uttered, "Wait for a while ! I am going to show you a miracle." Everyone thought, there would be a miracle concerning the dead girl. However, as nothing happened, after sometime they went ahead with the funeral. Just then Dhumal reached there and declared that the innocent persons had been released. First, people found it difficult to believe the good news. But, after sometime they realized that this was the miracle Baba was referring to.
From 1930 to 1932, Dhumal worked as revenue member of Devas Sansthan. During that time he often travelled between Devas and Nasik. During the journey, he carried Baba's photos with him. His nephew, as well as the cook did not approve of this practice and expressed their displeasure. To take a decision on the matter, Dhumal – as was his practice – placed two chits in front of Baba's photo. The answer came, "Keep the photos always with you !"
One of the photos that Dhumal carried with him was given to him by Radhakrishnaai. Whenever he looked at it, he remembered Baba's sentence, "The entire night I thought about you and only about you."
Once, he was carrying this photo while passing from Dwarkamai. Baba called him and enquired, "What are you carrying ?" Dhumal replied, "You are here." Baba asked him to give Him the photo. Baba kept it in His hands for sometime and turned His gaze all over it. Baba returned it to him and said, "Keep it with you !" Dhumal always craved that Baba should give him a photo for performing daily Pooja. His silent desire was thus answered. He never parted company from this photo.
From time to time Baba gave a total sum of Rs. 67 to Dhumal. Then in 1918, He suddenly took back the money and demanded Rs. 7 more. Dhumal said, "I don't have any more money." Baba replied, "Borrow from someone else !" This was Baba's way of teaching Dhumal not to have false pride about money. Dhumal always remembered this lesson. After Baba's Mahanirvan, he even followed Baba's practice of collecting Bhiksha from selected houses.
In 1918, just prior to Baba's Maha-nirvan, Dhumal's sister-in-law became seriously ill at Pune. Dhumal took about Rs. 80 and set on his journey from Nasik to Pune. En-route he halted at Shirdi to avail Baba's blessings and Udi. However, Baba took away the Rs. 80 that he had and also denied him permission to go to Pune. In the meantime, Dhumal received a telegram informing him that the lady had passed away.
After a few days, Baba set on His last journey. Dhumal realized the reason for Baba keeping him back at Shirdi. Baba knew that the lady's death was inevitable. Further, if he had gone to Pune, he would have missed the few last memorable days in company of Baba.
After Baba's Mahanirvan, the district court appointed 5 trustees to administer the Sansthan property. After one of the trustees expired, Dhumal was appointed in his place. In his capacity as a trustee, he used his legal knowledge and experience to set the rules and bye-laws for the Shirdi Sansthan.
On Saturday 29th June 1940, Bhausaheb breathed his last at his own home. He always wished that at the time of his death, he should be in Shirdi. But, Baba desired otherwise.

श्री साई अमृत वाणी एंड परायण ऑफ़ साई लीलामृत

श्री साई अमृत वाणी एंड परायण ऑफ़ साई लीलामृत
१०थ् अप्रिल २००८
जै साई राम
It was a Thursday falling during the Navratre days. Besides Udi oozing from the photo of Baba, Sindoor (Kumkum) was also oozing from different photos of Maa. Oozing of Sindoor during Navratre days, has also become the usual phenomenon. It started on the first day of Navrtre. Quantity of Sindoor increased day by day. Mrs Gupta will finally collect the sindoor and Udi only on Ram Naumi. I am appending few photos, taken on this day.

For quite some time devotees and Mrs. Gupta also had a feeling as if they are in Dwarka Mai when siiting in the hall. This Thursday also there was a strong feeling of this. Some devotees had the same feeling. During recitation there was a strong light in the mandir room. Baba in the Photo of Dwarka Mai, came out. His Size was of normal size and blessed the devotees. Mrs Gupta and many devotees had the same feeling and were quite awake with open eyes.
There was large number of devotees who attended the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani and so few devotees even had to sit in the kitchen.
Following devotees participated in absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers to Baba ( Shirdi) and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra/ Sai Leelamrit by reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places on 10th April 2008. However Mrs. Gupta prayed for all the devotees, who wrote to us. In this list only those devotees are included, who themselves recited or read/listen Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places.
This Thursday the 10th April 2008 , we enjoyed the following Leelas of Baba (of Shirdi).
1. Udi and even Sindoor started oozing from Sunday from the different photos and Statue of Baba and Maa. Sunday was th first day of Navratre. Hindi words `RAM' `SHAM' `OM' were formed with Udi on one photo in the mandir and another photo on the wall. Sindoor was oozing from different swaroops of Maa.
7. Some portion of the bhog was also found with one Statue of Baba, brought by one devotee.
8. The feeling of Presence of Baba was very strong during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja and Prayer. Devotees had the feeling as if they all are in Dwarka Mai.
9. All the boxes of Bhog, which were kept on the table were blessed with Udi.
10. Many photos, papers and documents etc which were placed before Baba and the same were blessed without any delay.
11. Few statues of Baba, which were also placed before HIM were all blessed.

Ambrosia After Mahasamadhi (Contd)

Ambrosia After Mahasamadhi (Contd)
41. BABA GAVE DARSHAN AND HELPED SRI NAVIN BHAGWANJI DESAI, JALALPUR, GUJARAT
I got my father, mother, wife and children I became a Sai devotee since 1967 and I am completely attached to His feet thinking that He is the only guide, saviour and God to me. Baba gave Darshan to me in my dream in my house. He asked me to come to His Samadhi in Shirdi. I went to His Samadhi. Baba put thilak on my forehead, spread a towel and poured on it 300 silver one rupee coins tied it, gave it to me and asked me to go away. I got down from the Samadhi. He again called me. I got up His Samadhi. He put some jaggery into my mouth by taking it from a Katturi and asked me to go away. Then I came to my place". I thought it was an auspicious symptom for me to visit Shirdi. I first went to Shirdi in 1967 and got accommodation in Baba's Gurusthan building. I requested Baba to give His darshan to prove to me that He has accepted me as His devotee. Accordingly to my wish, Baba gave me darshan as he was watering the plants behind the Samadhi Mandir".
Afterwards, I resigned my job which fetched me Rs. 1,800/- P. M. I was fully emerged in Baba's devotion. My wife was a teacher. All on a sudden she became mad and talking indifferently. I tried all sorts of medicines for her cure by spending nearly Rs. 10,000/-. The doctor told me at length that there is no use of medical treatment to her and that I have to seek her Divine aid. One day night at about 2-30 A. M. she told me that she had given her earnings of about Rs. 40,000/- to me and wanted divorce from me with Rs. 40,000/-. I was too much worried and prayed to Baba heartily, “That if you do not find solution for her status within 24 hours, you will not be considered as Baba”. Daily one singer used to come to our house in the morning at about 5 A.M. for alms. Next day morning my wife gave her alms. At that time he told her that she was not a mad woman and that somebody had done evil things to her. She will be cured shortly. I too heard this with her and ascertained Baba's dictum through Him. I took her to the adjacent village where such cases are attended to in a Maruthi Mandir. She was cured of from her evil spirits by an expense of Rs. 1-50 by the grace of Baba and she became more devoted to Shri Sai Baba than myself.
Again in 1967, I visited Shirdi for the second time with my family and I got my room in the ground floor of the Gurusthan. When I went out for shopping a well built dog gone before me and stopped in front of one shop. I purchased my required article from that shop. Again the dog directed me to follow and took me to 4 or 5 shops and I purchased from all the shops my required articles and finally took me straight away to my room in Baba's Gurusthan and entered in my room and seated in my Gadi. At that time, my mother was serving dishes for us. The dog without any haste went to one dish took onething in each variety and came back and sat in the same gadi. We took our food and we wanted to vacate our room as we wanted to go to Surat by bus at 11 A.M. Then the time was 10-30. I requested the dog in my mind, "Baba I am satisfied for your guidance and help. I want to vacate my room and proceed to Surat , please I kindly request you to enable me to vacate my room". As soon as I thought likewise, the dog suddenly got up and went away. Afterwards, we vacated and proceeded to our place.
My brother is an illiterate. His marriage was a great problem to us as no one is forthcoming to give him daughter as to an illiterate. The neighbouring village friends' son has to be married with the daughter of our village. Both of them Bride and Bridegroom came to our house for betrothal. At that time, my heart so sickened that I stood before Baba's photo and requested heartily whether Baba would perform my brother's marriage. The betrothal party has gone from my house. After one week, one old man who had attended the betrothal had seen my brother, our house, our routine, our influence and determined to give his daughter to my brother for marriage. Baba has yielded to my prayer and settled my brother's marriage. I came to Shirdi with marriage invitation and placed it in all the places of Baba and prayed heartily to come to the marriage and bless the couples. I performed the marriage of my brother in a grand scale in such a manner that the villagers are even now telling that they have not ever seen such kind of marriage in our village. At about 12 noon an unknown Fakir came very hastily, straight away to me and requested me for meals. I fed him in a fit manner. After his meals, I gave him the remaining amount in my packet i.e., Rs. 21/- as dakshina thinking that no other than Baba Himself came and satisfied my vision.

42. BABA GAVE DARSHAN TO SHRI BALASAHEB REGE OF POONA A DEVOTEE OF SHRI MADHAVNATH
Bharat is a place of Rishi and Munis and Baba is such a great Rishi. Shri Madhavnath Chithrakot in Madhya Pradesh was also such a Saint. When once Balasaheb was on way to Poona , Shri Madhavanath gave a chit to him to be handedover to Baba in Shirdi. It was written on the chit only "DEVIDARSHAN" and nothing else. When he came to Shirdi, it was night and the Samadhi Mandir was closed. He placed the chit on the window and waited. Baba's Samadhi Mandir was covered by mosquito net and he stood on the left side of the Samadhi. On the right side of the Samadhi a tiger was standing and on the left side of Samadhi, Devi was standing. He thought whether he was in dream and that word written on the chit "DEVI DARSHAN" was then understood by him. Afterwards he saw Baba within the mosquite net and smoking chillim and Madhavnath was sitting before Baba and Baba was knee-ding front and back. These darshan last long and he himself astonished about these peculiar darshan.

43. BABA GAVE DARSHAN TO THE SON OF SHRI V. B. NANDWANI, MAHIM, BOMBAY IN BABA'S GURUSTHAN BUILDING
On 7-5-1973, I reached Shirdi with my son aged 17 years. Expecting heavy rush due to vacation, I had written in advance to the Sansthan for reservation of a particular room for us. Although the letter has not yet been posted on to the accommodation incharge he offered the same room I wanted. He was also kind enough to invite us for lunch that day at about 2 P.M. However, for some reasons, it was little after 3 P.M. that he came to call us for lunch in Bhojangriha. By then, my son had gone to sleep although he was hungry. I had earlier asked him to go and eat something, but he did not agree. Now when we both asked him to get up for meals, he refused to eat anything in anger. Knowing his nature and habit of eating earlier, I left him and went with that Sansthan officer. My son got up at about 4 P.M. and said angrily "I would not go to Samadhi Mandir. I will not bow before Baba. I do not want to stay here. I will go back to Bombay even if I have to go alone”. I knew all this outburst was due to his hunger and anger and so kept quiet. A little while latter he got up and went out to eat something. Instead of eating in the hotel, he brought four "Dosas" and asked me also to have one. To please him, I did. He could eat only two. The one left untouched, he gave it to a beggar.
We were in the room on ground floor touching the road inside Sansthan compound and parallel to the then Accommodation Office. In Gurupadukasthan, there is an "L" shaped passage between the two rooms. The entrance is from longer leg of "L". The shorter has the bath rooms and is closed at the other end. Thus anybody going out and coming in must be seen by us if the door of our room is open. After eating the "Dosas" my son went to wash the plate at the open tap fixed in the line of bath rooms. Suddenly he rushed back to the room and said that someone look like Baba standing in the passage outside the bath rooms with a stick in His hand and that he got frightened. He talked all this standing on the threshold of the room keeping the door open. I was sitting in such a position that anybody coming in or going out must be visible to me. I got immediately and went with him to the bath room side and found none there. I feel it was "Sai Himself who gave him darshan". I did not see anyone going out of the passage. How could someone vanish like that? None dressed like that was staying in the other rooms. On questioning, my son told me that his Kupni was torn on one arm and lower ends of it were flayed badly. He was pointing to the stick (Satka) towards the Samadhi Mandir. Then afterwards at about 6 P. M. my son quietly accompanied me to the Samadhi Mandir, Dwarakamayee and Chawdi and everywhere he bowed Baba as I did. During the rest of the seven days stay, he was extremely happy and made many friends.

44. BABA GIVEN DARSHAN TO MISS. SHOBNA RAO
My father is a devotee of Baba and he visits yearly His Shrine at Shirdi. Oh yes, now I recollect one small incident that took place during my school days when my Daddy has booked tickets for us to go to Baba's Shrine at Shirdi, but ill luck befalled upon me, I was down with high temperature, even then my daddy proceeded as per his plan leaving me with my sister and my mother. But lo and behold the day passed into night. I was restless, sleepless and tossing about in the bed. It was I think midnight when I saw a Sadhu clad in robe, sitting too close to my bed side with a hand raised. I was about to shout due to fear but my throat was chocked and I soon felt fast asleep. Next day my Mummy was surprised, I was well the next day. My fever came to normal. It was no other than our Baba. I was asked by my mother to light a Nandadeep to our Holy Baba. It was my daily work to stand before His photo and to ask for forgiveness for whatever I do. His eyes are my destination. I always take His permission whenever I do anything whether good or bad. I leave it to Baba He is there with me and is guiding me in all my daily routine. He smiled when I do good and gets angry when I do a wrong thing. My father used to say always:"Do your best and leave the rest to the Almighty Shri Sai Baba. He will do the rest". I am now studying in Inter Arts by His grace and hope that His blessings will always befall upon me to become a graduate very soon so that I can thank Baba one day with tears of joy, hoping to he blessed throughout my life.

Saibaba Of Shirdi - Begging Food

Some Sai Bhakt forwarded me this email about Saibaba....I'm enclosing this here for everyone...
Blessed are the people in Shirdi , in front of whom Baba stood as a beggar and called out, " O Mai, give me a piece of bread.!" And spread out His hands to receive the same. In one hand He carried a Tumrel ( a tin pot) and in the other a Zoli or a Choupadari i.e. a rectangular piece of cloth. He daily visited certain houses and went from door to door.
Liquid or semi liquid things such as soups, vegetables, milk or buttermilk were received in the tin pot while cooked rice, bread and such solid things were taken in the Zoli. Baba's tongue knew no taste, as He had acquired control over it. So how could He care for the taste of different things mixed up together?
Whatever things He got in the Zoli and in the tin pot were mixed together and partaken by Baba to His heart content. Whether particular thing was tasty or otherwise, was never noticed by Baba as His tongue was devoid of sense of taste all together. Baba begged till noon but His begging was very irregular. Some days He went up to few rounds and other days up to twelve noon.
The food thus collected was kept in the kundi an earthen pot. Dog, cat and crows freely ate from it and Baba never drove them away.
The woman who swept the floor of the masjid took some 10 to 12 pieces of bread to her house and nobody prevented her from doing so. How could He, Who, even in dreams never warded off cats and dogs by harsh words or signs, refuse food to the poor helpless people?
Blessed indeed is the life of such a Noble Person! People in Shirdi took Him in the beginning for a mad Fakir. He was known in the village by this name. The Fakir was very liberal at heart, detached and charitable. Though He looked restless from outside , He was firm and steady inside. His way was inscrutable. Still in that small village. There were a few kind and blessed people, who recognized and regarded Him as a Great Soul.
Moral: The lives of Saints are only meant for the benefit of Humanity.

AMBROSIA AFTER MAHASAMADHI

9. HOW BABA INSPIRED SHRI M. K. RAJAGOPALACHARY TO BUILD BABA'S MANDIR AT NELLORE (A.P)
Doctor M. K. Rajagopalachari of Nellore had got a photo and UDI of Shri Sai Baba, Shirdi, through Rao Saheb Chandu Subbaiah Setty after his return from Shirdi visit, as he was his family doctor. He put the photo on the top of his Almyrah in his dispensary in Rajaji Street , Nellore without evincing much interest and in a most casual way. After some days, the doctor had a dream one night. A tall Fakir in long torn gown walked up to him and showed some wounds and eruptions on his skin below his two knees and asked him to dress up his wounds. Seeing the Fakir, the doctor was wonder struck with his extraordinary appearance, graceful and kind personality and the doctor immediately dressed up His wounds in his own hands with great care and interest. Then the Fakir said that he was very much relieved of the pain and blessed him and left. After two or three days of this incident while the doctor cleaning the dust and debris on the Almyrahs he happened to look at the Baba's photo and that the portions down below Baba's knee was eaten away by white ants and this condition reminded the doctor of the incident in his dream. The doctor came to know that the Fakir who blessed him in his dream was no other than Shri Sai Baba Shirdi and his eager grew more to know about Baba. In 1939, he invited his Holiness B. V. Narasimhaswamy to Nellore . The Swamiji gave lectures about the life and leelas of Shri Sai Baba. In October, 1940, the doctor made a trip to Shirdi. He met His Holiness Shri B. V. Narasimhaswamy and Shri Kesavaiah Swamiji. The doctor returned from Shirdi with a firm determination to build a regular mandir immediately after his return to Nellore . Accordingly with his tireless effort along with other Sai devotees a pucka mandir of Shri Sai Baba Shirdi was erected at Nellore with a Mandali by name "The Nellore Shri Sai Baba Baktha Mandali" for its maintenance.

10. HOW BABA SAVED THE SISTER OF SHRI BHIKAJI MOHEDJI
A servant drawing a monthly salary of Rs. 36/- Bhikaji Mohedji has a sister Chhaboo. She had been ill for about 4 months. On 5-12-1951, her illness took a critical turn, so he was very anxious to get for her the benefit of a good doctor's advice and medicine, but within the meager salary, it was not at all possible for him to get there. Having sighs upon sighs, bemoaning his inability he carried on his office duties, chanting Sai Baba's name when suddenly there came in a doctor for some enquiry. Though Bhikaji could not recognise him, through Sai's grace the doctor himself reminded Bhikaji of his previous connection with him. So Bhikaji narrated to him the difficulty and requested him to examine her and prescribed the necessary medicines. The doctor readily complied with Bhikaji’s request. Bhikaji thus got over his worries and felt assured that Baba was ever ready to shower His grace ever on a poor man like himself.

11. BABA MADE SHRI KAKASAHEB DIXIT TO ATTEND THE DINNER PARTY ARRANGED BY SHRI KRISHNA RAO NARAYAN PARULKAR HARDA AND SATISFIED HIM
Shri Krishna Rao Narayan Parulkar, Honorary Magistrate of Harda has been celebrating "Shri Datta Festival” for several years usually falling in December and feeding one hundred Brahmins on that occasion and whenever for some reason or other he was not able to do so in a year, he would feed double the usual number i. e. two hundred brahmin in the next year. As per that self imposed rule, he was to feed two hundred brahmins in respect of that celebration in the year 1925. One Saturday was fixed for dinner, only when five days were left to it, that is on Monday. On Tuesday when Parulkar was merged in meditation as per his daily routine, he heard a voice saying,"If you desire that on the day you are feeding the brahmins, I should come and dine with them, you call Sri Dixit from Bombay .” Parulkar however thought to himself whether it was proper for him to request Shri Dixit to come such a long distance simply for taking dinner while he was in the midst of such conflict of thoughts, he again heard the voice, "Why did you puzzle? Write to Dixit, feed him with all the other brahmins and when you have done so, know it for certain that I joined the party taking dinner at yours.” So Parulkar wrote to Shri Dixit on Wednesday requesting him to attend the dinner on Saturday. Failing to hear from Shri Dixit all preparations were made for serving the dinner on Saturday, Parulkar with tearful eyes requested Baba to set matters right and then taking his bath, so soon as he started doing his midday routine prayers, he got a telegram from Shri Dixit informing him that he and Madhavrao Deshpande were on the way to Harda. All were gladdened to receive the news. They all went to the station to receive them, accorded them a hearty welcome and gave them a sumptuous feast in the company of the two hundred brahmins. Sri Parulkar was overjoyed and he now felt that Baba is still there to satisfy all the Godly craving of his heart.

12. BABA SATISFIED THE WISHES OF SMT. MANI SAHUKAR BY GIVING MEDICINE FOR HER SUFFERINGS IN HER THROAT
Smt Mani Sahukar author of the book Saint of Shirdi about the year 1950 started suffering from the peculiar ailment of the throat. She was a sincere student of vocal Hindustani classical music. Owing to the sufferings in the throat she was not able to sing continuously for ten minutes. She consulted many doctors but in vain. After six months, she came to Shirdi and stood before the Samadhi of Shri Sai Baba, her heart and eyes suddenly wetted with tears. She came out of the Samadhi Mandir and went over to visit a friend. After discussion with her friend, she came to her room behind the Gurusthan at about 7-30 P.M. In order to make herself comfortable, she started removing her sari from her left shoulder. As she removed, she heard something rustling in the sari and a small packet about 2 inches long made up in white paper fell from her sari to the ground. She was perplexed for a moment and looked around her wondering what had happened. There was no one. She picked and unfolded it. To her amazement in contained six or seven tiny white tablets which may commonly used in homeopathy. When she realised the significance of this, she wrapped her sari again and went to her friend with the tablets. Her friend told her, "You understand, don't you know that this is Baba's Prasad. What are you going to do with it?” She replied that she will take all these tablets.
So saying she put all these tablets in her mouth. When she returned home from Shirdi, she found that she should sing without any hindrance and all the congestion in her throat entirely disappeared. Her heart overflowed gratitude to Baba.

Jai Sai Ram
There was no new Leela of Baba, this Thursday the 20th March.
All were old and continued Leelas, which are mentioned below in this report letter.
Due to malfunction of my laptop I lost few files and have to reconstruct them. How ever I could not construct the compilation of the letters received for 13th March but were received after the compiled letter for 13th was dispatched. Please post your emails by Tuesday night ( Indian Standard Time), so that I may consolidate them by Wednesday and the final list of the devotees, who are going to recite Sri Sai Amrit Vani by Wednesday night.

श्री साई अमृत वाणी एंड परायण ऑफ़ साई लीलामृत
१३थ् मार्च २००८
जै साई राम
Letters are received after posting the `letter and requests for prayers', so in that letter We included all the current letters received upto that time for this week and the remaining letters of the last week, which were received after posting that letter and before the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani.
Please post your emails by Tuesday night ( Indian Standard Time), so that I may consolidate them by Wednesday and the final list of the devotees, who are going to recite Sri Sai Amrit Vani by Wednesday night.
Leelas of Baba have become so routine to us that they have become our way of life and we feel, if some Leela does not happen. Like we feel that honey does not ooze so reqularly and it generally happens at the end and the beginning of the year. Sindoor(Kumkum ) oozes only on some important days. Leelas of Baba are different on Ganesh Chaturthi days. We wait eagerly for such occasions.
Today a photo of Baba which was placed before Baba was not blessed with Udi. Devotees were surprised to this Leela of Baba. After some discussion some devotee pointed that the photo was brought in the polythene bag of shoes. Mystery was so soon solved. Apologies were made to Baba and the photo was thoroughly cleaned by Mrs. Gupta. Baba was prayed and again the photo was placed
in the Mandir. There was no surprise and Baba blessed the photo with Udi .
Following devotees participated in absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers to Baba ( Shirdi) and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra/ Sai Leelamrit by reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places on 13th March 2008 (The list is sorted as per their email ids, to avoid duplications) . However Mrs. Gupta prayed for all the devotees, who wrote to us. In this list only those devotees are included, who themselves recited or read/listen Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places.
This Thursday the 13th march 2008 , we enjoyed the following Leelas of Baba (of Shirdi).
1. Udi started oozing from Monday itself from the two photos on the wall and Hindi words `RAM' `SHAM' `OM' were formed with Udi on one photo. From Photo in the mandir Udi started oozing from Tuesday and also forming the words `RAM' `SHAM' and `OM' on it. Udi started oozing from the statue of Baba from Wednesday.
7. The feeling of Presence of Baba was very strong during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja and Prayer.
8. All the boxes of Bhog, which were kept on the table were blessed with Udi.
9. Many photos, papers and documents etc which were placed before Baba and same were blessed without any delay.
10. On One photo Udi started oozing when it was placed again after cleaning it, as it was brought in the shoes polythene bag. The photo was taken back with due respect.
