Satsang Badrinath is Sainath and Sainath is Badrinath by Shri R. D. Nayak

Satsang Badrinath is Sainath and Sainath is Badrinath by Shri R. D. Nayak

Badrinath is Sainath and Sainath is Badrinath
When I stepped for the first time in Bombay on 6th June 1926 in search of
service, I was not aware of the name of Shirdi Sai Baba. By my good luck I
got service in a good institution. During the period of my service, I used
to hear often the words from the lips of my friends and others about Shri
Sai Baba of Shirdi, myself not knowing where Shirdi was and the route that
led to Shirdi. After the passage of some time, I came in contact with Shri
Gopal Ganesh Shriyan, whom I knew well, as a staunch devotee and also a
regular subscriber to "Shri Sai Leela" magazine. He used to receive the
copies of the said magazine -with a small packet of ‘Udi’. I was fortunate
to have the said magazines from him, which gave me immense pleasure and
peace of mind to go through the subsequent copies and thereby I came to know
the greatness of Shri Sai Baba and had a desire to go to Shirdi. Years
rolled on with this desire, but the opportune time did not come. Now, I am
turning to another story which has its link to the following narration.

Somewhere in March 1948, an impulse entered my mind to go on a pilgrimage to
Badrinath in the Himalayas; but I was all the while thinking whether I could
venture in such a hard task all alone without having a companion, who knew
the route and bad the experience of the route and the location of the
Shrine, to accompany me to make the journey comfortable. One day a close
neighbour of mine, staying in the adjacent building, came to know about my
intension to go to Badrinath. He told me that he had already gone to
Badrinath twice a few years ago and that he was thinking again to visit
Badri, if circumstances permitted. I thought it would be a pleasurable
journey to me also to accompany him, if God wills. On hearing this from him,
I thought it to be a good chance for me and I decided to accompany him. A
week's time was left for us to leave Bombay for Badri. Hence, I was
preparing myself with my bag and baggage. In the meanwhile
my companion, whom I had to accompany, got a telegram from his
daughter, in Delhi, stating that she was ill and that she expected his (her
father's) presence by her side. As a result of this my companion left Bombay
in haste for Delhi, of which I was not aware. A day prior to our fixed day
to start, I went as usual to his house to make sure of the day of our
starting from Bombay, I was told by his wife about the telegram
he received from his daughter, and he left Bombay for Delhi in a haste
and he had given his Delhi address for me to meet him at Delhi. At
this, I got disheartened as I did not know where I
have to contact him at Delhi, as I would be a stranger to that place. I.
reluctantly had to cancel my going to Delhi. So I was feeling
restless at heart. By this time, it was about 8 p. m. With these
disappointing thoughts alone, as there was no other alternative, I went
to sleep. At about 3 A.M., I had a dream in which, I saw that I was
walking on a jungle route of about two to two-and-a-half feet wide. It
was circuitous, full of thorns, pebbles and bushes on either side. On this
route leading to the Badrinath Shrine through the dense forest, I
and my companion were walking with a baggage hanging on
our shoulders. To my utter surprise, a big and horrible tiger suddenly
appeared before me at a distance of 10 to 12 feet from me, with its
terror-stricken mouth wide open, staring at me, I was aghast with full
perspiration and horrification all over the body. I knew not what to
do at this juncture; but remembered the life saving Holy names of Badrinath
and Sainath simultaneously. Lo, within a moment I perceived such a
horrible tiger being reduced gradually from its fearful form to that of a
cat and it jumped out of my way making it clear! No sooner this
happened, than I saw before me an old man having resemblance of Shri Sainath
staring at me. He reprimanded me thus:-
'You entertain difference between Badrinath and Sainath! What Badrinath
is, is Sainath and what Sainath is, is Badrinath Know
this well and do five thousand japa of my name". Telling me this He
disappeared. Accordingly I carried out His order, the next morning. It was
my good fortune to go to Shirdi for His darshan in January 1949.

Sri Sai Amrit Vani - 7th June 2007

Sri Sai Amrit Vani - 7th June 2007

DEVOTEES MAY FORWARD THIS LETTER TO THEIR FRIENDS/RELATIVES.
7th June 2007
Jai Sai Ram
Now and then Baba shows us some new Leela also in addition to the old ones. This Thursday also a new thing happened. When the Udi from Mrs Gupta’s Lap was being collected in the small container, ‘OM’ a Hindi word formed in the container with the Udi. The water from the Charans was also in much quantity. Every time it was upto the top in the thali. Few devotees were from Model Town, about 30 Kms from our house. They also want to start the group recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their home. After some time from the end of the Pooja many devotees were still sharing their experiences and then they distributed a very good photo of Baba. Few devotees kept the photo with them, but some devotees kept the photo in the mandir. With in no time Udi appeared on the photo. They themselves placed the photos and took back.
This Thursday also there was heavy rush of devotees and no space was left unoccupied in the main hall and the adjacent room.
The list of devotees, who ask us to pray, is not compiled as they are very much in nos, however they are prayed for. Following devotees participated in absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra by reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places on 7th June 2007. The list is sorted as per their email ids. However Mrs. Gupta prayed for all the devotees. In this list only those devotees are included, who themselves recited or read Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places. Kindly mention clearly, against each devotee’s name that he/she will recite or read or listen to Sri Sai Amrit Vani, or only for prayers. Please also give the name of the place.
This Thursday the 7th June we enjoyed the following Leelas.
1. Udi started appearing and oozing from the two photos on the wall from Saturday itself, Hindi words ‘RAM’ ‘SHAM’ and ‘OM’, and figure of Trishool were formed with Udi on one photo. Our daughter in law was having some operation on Saturday. It was blessings for her. On Tuesday Udi started oozing from the main photo in the mandir. ‘RAM’ ‘SHAM’ and ‘OM’ along with other figures were also formed on the photo. From Statue, Udi started oozing from Wednesday.
2. There was lot of Water from the Charans this week also. It even started in the early hours of the morning. A thali was placed below the Charans in the night itself. Thali was emptied several times. The taste of water was similar to gulab jal and kewara mix. After Sai Amrit Vani, this water was given to the devotees and again the Thali was filled with water. Devotees bring bottles to take the water home.
3. Lap of Mrs. Gupta was filled with Udi during the prayers. Udi was there between the falls of the Sari. ‘OM’ was formed in the container
4. Udi also appeared on many other devotees and also in the books of Sri Sai Amrit Vani.
5. On Thursday as soon as Bhog was offered, it was duly accepted by Baba and after the Sri Sai Amrit Vani we noticed that the box, which was placed before HIM was partially eaten and partially remained pieces of items in the box. Part of Bhog was on the lips of many photos and statue of Baba. These parts of the remains in the box were given to the devotees who offered that item of bhog to Baba. Partly eaten remains were having some figures on them.
6. Presence of Baba during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani, Prayer and Prayan of Sri Satcharitra was very strong. Many devotees felt HIS presence in different ways and few expressed their feelings.
7. All the boxes of Bhog which were kept on the table were blessed with Udi,
8. The Charnamrit, the water in which Baba took the bath in the morning was also sweet as if some honey has been mixed into it.
9. Many documents and photos of devotees kept in the mandir room, were blessed with lots of Udi as soon as they were placed before Baba.
Jai Sai Ram
Sri Sai Amrit Vani started at 11:04 AM. Noon Aartee started at 12:00 Hrs. followed by brief Meditation and the prayer, Prayan of Chapter 40 from Sai Satcharitra. Mrs. Gupta offered prayers and thanks to Baba. Finally distribution of Prasad, Udi and the water from the Charans. Satsang Miracles Happen Yet

Satsang Miracles Happen Yet

Miracles Happen Yet
Experiences of a Humble Devotee
Shri Sai Baba's devotees, who have read "Incredible Sai Baba" by Saint and
sage Shree Arthur Osborne of Bhagwan Shri Raman Ashram and first editor of
"Mountain Path", will find full confirmation that our Shree Sai Baba is ever
present and is living. He materializes in visible body to help any person in
distress, known or unknown. If the call of a devotee in distress is deep and
genuine, the help does come. The call (KIRTAN, in the real sense) must be
from the depth of the heart, even though the devotee in distress may not
have known before "Shri Sai Baba" in that form of body or description before
or after "Maha Samadhi" by books or other sources.

This incident, related below, is one of those which are
experienced by this writer in day to day life. I was drawn to "Shri Sai
Baba's" presence at Shirdi in 1959 for the first time in my life and through
books about five years earlier to that 'Sai' has always kept me near to
"HIM", He always helped me in distress and confirmed me in "HIS"
“faith” and “GRACE”. These incidents can be termed to be miracles in
common language. In reality these incidents and experiences are "HIS
LILAS" for favoring a devotee and looking after an ordinary "Jiva" like me
in the same manner as Lord Shri Krishna, the "Supreme personality of God
head” looked after his real devotees the five Pandvas, their mother Kunti,
their wife Draupadi and all their children in their life time.

Recalling this incident, it was four years back that I went to wish safe
flight and give blessings to my daughter and grandson returning back to
States. My daughter was staying at her husband's parent's place about 50
miles away from Santa Cruz Airport. Jumbo Jet 747 flight, by which
reservation was booked was at 21.00 hrs. on that date. Her in-laws and she,
decided to start in the nick of the time by train and then by taxi from the
nearest railway station to the Airport. I constantly prayed to "Sai Baba"
and I was commanded by him not to take risk of the train and other transport
as they delay due to unforeseen circumstances. I conveyed my intuitive
feelings to all and of warning that I was receiving from time to time from
Sai Baba. On great persuasions, the programme of start was made little
earlier than decided. There was little effect of my warning on the minds of
the family members. My daughter and present day teenagers and youngsters
were scoffing and laughing at me as superstitious.

When we came to the station, the trains were reported little late and
eventually we boarded the first train which stopped dead after proceeding
further by few furlongs due to some defect due to power failure. We waited
patiently for an hour but the train did not start.

I imploringly prayed to "Sai Baba for help and I was directed to detrain and
take a taxi, which might help me to reach the Airport in time with my
daughter and grand son. We took out the kit and walked back to the Railway
Station and with great difficulty could get a rickety old taxi, the driver
of which agreed to take us to the limits of Greater Bombay only (Mulund
Naka). I continuously prayed to Sai Baba as the old taxi ploughed through
distance coughing and crying at reasonable speed and we eventually reached
"Mulund Naka". To our surprise there was no taxi available for taking us to
the Airport. If we were delayed for fifteen or twenty minutes more, we could
miss the flight. I therefore cried in distress to "Sai Baba" and prayed from
my heart to help us in distress and fervently prayed to "HIM" to come to our
rescue. To our surprise, one taxi with passengers came to the spot and on
directions from "Sai Baba" I stopped the same and told them of our plight.
All the occupants came out and willingly gave us the use of taxi, agreeing
to take another one for their use. I later on continued praying to "Sai
Baba" and we could reach the Airport 20 minutes before the scheduled time, I
ran to Police Immigration Section and explained the situation where the
Officer on duty helped us to get the kit booked and gave us his van to
proceed to the plane along with himself where he was giving clearance
documents to commander of the plane to proceed and even delayed some time to
get completed other formalities. This saved us all from the loss of Rs.
13.000/- and from worries of change of programme and delay in reaching
States in time. This was all "GRACE" of Sai Baba".

I went next day to Shirdi to my "Sai Baba" to offer sincere thanks,
reverence and "Pranams" for the "Leela" and "Miracle" in saving me from bad
situations.

All Glory of Sai Baba - I make this incident public in view of the vow taken
by me at that moment.

Satsang The Miraculous Jyothi by Smt. Shakuntla Sharma

Satsang The Miraculous Jyothi by Smt. Shakuntla Sharma

The Miraculous Jyothi
"Akhanda Jyoti" has extinguished, Krishan Lal (aged 45) my brother was
thunder struck after seeing his frightful dream. He again tried to
recapitulate the dream which he had seen a few minutes before. He could very
well visualize that his head was completely shaven and the "Jyoti" which
used to burn continuously was extinguished all of a sudden. Krishan Lal's
cadaveric body was shaking very badly with terror. It was reputed to be a
bad omen.

He was a chronic patient for the last six months. He suffered from "Piles"
(Haemorrhoids) of severe degree which used to bleed profusely in huge
quantity with each motion. His face was giving a wan look as he was feeling
weak day after day. His body remained merely a skeleton with not enough
strength to walk without support. Everyone in the house was worried about
his deteriorating health. Respected Doctor Babaji was known to our family as
with his only grace my husband got promotion (Sri Gangaram Sharma) and son
Vijay (aged 18) was saved during his devastating disease. In short, God Sai
was having His mercy on our family. Respected Dr. Babaji asked to light
"Akhanda Jyoti" for the sake of my brother and my family for continuous five
years; I was prepared for this penance, because I have my utter faith in Sai
God.

So it was this very "Akhanda Jyoti", which was lit on the auspicious day of
1st October 1970, had extinguished. He immediately called me and explained
everything regarding his aghastness. We were sure some mishap might have
happened. I rushed to my room where Jyoti used to burn. I had a sigh of
relief as the "Akhanda Jyoti" was shining as usual. It all happened on 9th
Jan. 1971. On 23rd/24th Jan. That night I had a dream which could be
narrated as under;-

"There is a function in one of our relative's house where many other
relatives have also come to attend that function. In the court yard of that
house large quantity of fresh vegetables is kept on a charpoy. These
vegetables have been brought by my husband (Sri Ganga Ram Sharma) and niece
Dr. Miss Suman Sharma. She tells me to take some vegetables but I refuse.
Then my husband asks me to take some fresh vegetables and that we will pay
the cost. Then I select some brinjals and peas and keep them separately on
the charpoy. After this I asked my husband that we should rush back to the
house for the sake of Krishan Lal. God knows what will be his condition.

Satsang Swamiji to my Rescue By R.N. Venkatadri

Satsang Swamiji to my Rescue By R.N. Venkatadri

Swamiji to my Rescue
By R.N. Venkatadri

We have all heard and experienced the omnipotence and omniscience of Baba
and Swamiji in our daily life. We have also seen how they guide, protect,
look after and take us on the right path. Baba said "I draw my bhaktas from
the jaws of death" How true. The all merciful Baba and Swamiji have all
along looked after their devotees and continue to do so. I am saying this
after one more such rescue act which took place recently. On September 14,
1992, I was resting in the afternoon when I felt a squeeze on my heart and
pain in the left forearm. I asked my son to apply some ointment and in a few
minutes I felt normal. I moved my right arm and there was no pain or
discomfort. I had heard that there would be pain in the left arm when blood
supply to heart muscle is less, and concluded that there was no heart
problem. But I did feel very weak.

On the 16th evening, I had to meet a friend and my son would not permit me
to drive my scooter and took me on his motor cycle. At the friend's place, I
had to climb up and down to meet my friend. We came back home and I was
feeling too exhausted and weak to even have my dinner and went to bed
without it. My son examined my legs and arms. They were cold and I was
sweating all over. He phoned the doctor, who advised that I should have
something hot to drink and would visit us in the morning to see me. My
daughter had been to Palani and returned with 'panchamratam.' I had a
liberal helping of the same and a cup of hot milk with extra sugar. In a
short while the sweating stopped and I slept well.

The next morning, the doctor came home, checked me and advised me to get on
EGG, Chest X-ray, and blood sugar (as I am diabetic) and a stress test and
advised me to go to Wockhardt Hospital.

I was given an appointment for the stress test at 3 and my son took me there
at 2 to get the other tests done. The EGG was taken and I tried to persuade
the technician to show me the ECG which she refused. I went to give blood
for the next test and at that time my son told the technician that we were
anxious to know the report as I was not well. So they took the ECG to the
Doctor, who examined me and advised a blood enzyme test and confirmed that I
had a heart attack in the previous 72 hours. He said that I should be
admitted to the intensive care unit immediately, which was done.

On the 23rd September the Cardiologist performed an Angiogram and confirmed
that I had two blocks in the blood vessels on the heart. One block was only
40% and the other was 90%. The Cardiologist advised that an angioplasty be
performed. In this process, a tube is introduced in the blood vessel and at
the block a balloon is inflated and the block is compressed against the wall
of the blood vessel and the blood flow is restored to normal.

Angioplasty was performed in the morning of 25th and it went off well. The
duration of this process is hardly 30 minutes. You can see the whole process
on a video screen. I was wheeled back to the intensive care unit and was
given seven or eight intravenous drips. As these drips were being arranged,
I felt uncomfortable and told the Cardiologist about it. I was immediately
brought to an inclined position with my head down and feet up. The next
instant I lost sight of the doctors and I knew I was dead. I was not scared,
I did not scream or utter God's name, but I knew I was dead.

Immediately after, I found myself in a brightly illuminated place where
there were no shadows in any direction and everything was bright. There used
to be a wooden chair in front of Swamiji's ashram and this chair, I saw and
recognizing it, was wondering how this came to be there and lo! The next
instant I saw our Swamiji seated in this very chair and looking at me. I was
so excited to see our beloved Swamiji that I forgot all propriety and did
not fold my hands in prostration. I was wondering why there was no smile of
welcome on Swamiji's face but he kept on coking at me as though I was an
intruder, I kept walking towards him and all along I was immensely happy
that I was again in the august presence of our Swamiji. I was hardly a few
steps from Swamiji. He gave his characteristic smile and even before I could
realise this, Swamiji vanished and so did the chair and the brightness. I
was conscious of the doctors and nurses calling me my name. The
Cardiologist, Dr. Khanolkar asked me if I was thirsty and suggested I have
some tea which I did. On the 28th of September, I was discharged and came
back home a normal person.

Satsang At the Feet of Sai Baba

Satsang At the Feet of Sai Baba

At the Feet of Sai Baba
By PURUSHOTHAM R. AVASTHI

We are pleased to publish a portion of the autobiographical sketch of Late
Shri PR. Avasthi, an intimate devotee of Sai Baba. Sri Avasthi was a
spiritually advanced person and had the benefit of being a devotee of our
Master, introduced by Sri M.B. Rage Sahib. Further, the credit of bringing
Sri Narasimha Swamiji and Sri Rege Sahib together goes to Sri P.R. Avasthi –
Editor

It was Christmas holidays of 1914. My friend M.B. Rege took me to Shirdi
along with him to seek the blessings of Sai Baba. During the journey, I was
wondering as to whether I have transgressed the advice of my Guru not to
visit another saint. I was indeed in a repentant mood for having agreed to
go to Shirdi and was beginning to feel that I have been led astray by the
jugglery of the old fakir at Shirdi. I felt that I should overpower his
sorcery by utterance of Shri Ram Nam. Rege called me 'Crazy'.

At Shirdi, we met Sai Baba in the Chavdi. My friend Rege went to him and
prayed to him to rid of my fit of craziness. Baba looked at me and I was
cured of my spell instantly on hearing Baba's melodious and devout tone
'Allah Malik Hai'. I apologized to him mentally to pardon at my defects. I
put my head at his lotus feet. He blessed me by gently touching my head.
Then onwards every creature that I happened to look on our way began to
strike me as Sai Baba. In meeting Sai Baba, my quest for a Sadguru was over
and Sai Baba was everything for me.

We went to the residence of Mother Radhakrishna Ayi. She appeared to me like
the proto-type of my Guru Shanthi Devi. On seeing me Mother Radhakrishna Ayi
narrated a few earlier incidents of my life. I was stunned but still did not
accept her as a substitute for my Guru Shanthi Devi but as her sister.

Even as I was thinking on these lines, Mother Radhakrishna Ayi cried aloud
'I am dying' and fell flat on the ground. I ran up to her and putting her
head on my lap loudly chanted one after the other five mantras based on the
five letters of 'Shiv Panchakshari' which represented the five elements. I
implored the deities to revive her in exchange for all the virtues I had
acquired in 16 years of my spiritual sadhana. Mother Radhakrishna Ayi opened
her eyes and I felt exceedingly grateful to God for this recovery.

I was in Shirdi for four days. Sai Baba passed me through various stages and
phases of His miraculous powers and made me realize as to His being an
avatar. This visit proved to be a turning point in my life as it weeded out
the unholy thoughts about Him as a 'Muslim' and drove me towards Him to took
upon Him not only as my Sadguru but as my God in whose quest I had been so
long hankering after.

It was 'Ekadashi' - the last day of my visit. Sai Baba had returned to the
mosque from Chavadi after the Kakad Arathi. He sent for my friend M.B. Rege
and directed him to take me away. A cart-Tonga was got ready. As we started
to go he came out of the mosque to go on for his morning round and we had
the good fortune to salute him near the village gate and got his blessings
at the time of our departure.

After this visit, I used to go to Shirdi at least twice or thrice a year and
on every occasion I was fortunate to get His darshan and blessings. This
continued for four years or so without a break.

In November 1917, in the early hours Sai Baba manifested in our residence at
Ujjain. I got up from my bed and bowed to Him reverentially. He suddenly
disappeared. At that very moment I heard the familiar voice of Abdul Bhai
calling me by name from the garden. I opened the door and rushed out to find
Abdul Bhai. But I found only a friend of mine plucking flowers who on
enquiry told me that no one else had come and called me by name!

I was wondering about the significance of Sai Baba's visit to our house. On
the third day of this incident, I received a letter from Sri Waman Rao Patil
of Shirdi about the sad demise of Mother Radhakrishna Ayi in the early hours
of the very day Sai Baba had visited our residence.

In May 1918, I visited Shirdi along with my sister and niece. They wanted to
offer 'Naivedya' of pithala to Sai Baba and were preparing it in the very
room that used to be formerly occupied by Mother Radhakrishna Ayi. The fuel
was wet and smoke covered the entire room. Unable to bear the smoke, my
sister thought of Mother Radhakrishna Ayi to come and help in kindling the
fuel. At once they fancied that Mother had come downstairs and helped them
in enkindling the wet fuel and then disappeared. While they felt the
ethereal presence of the Mother amidst them, reality dawned that Mother had
cast off her mortal coil in November 1917 itself. But they were inwardly
happy for having her darshan.

Another incident I recall was in October 1918. At Ujjain, ladies in our
household had inadvertently washed the husked rice grain twice or thrice and
went into the kitchen. Soon they realized the mistake and were at their
wit's end as to what is to be done. By chance, I happened to go there and
when they told me about this, I casually asked them to prepare 'Sakhar Bath'
as Sai Baba liked it (rice mixed with sugar and fried in ghee and a little
quantity of saffron added to it). After we offered 'Naivedya' to Sai Baba
and partook ‘prasad’, we got a letter from Shirdi conveying the saddest news
of Sai Baba's 'Mahasamadhi'. The news was like a bolt from the blue and we
became benumbed and overtaken with grief.

A friend of mine who was there remarked that on such occasions, sweet rice
or Meeta Bath is generally prepared according to Muslim rites and Sai Baba,
in His own inimitable manner had received ‘Naivedya’ through me. What a
coincidence.

Sai Baba is blessing us for ever. I am totally incapable of penning them
adequately. Beyond the bounds of mind lies all comprehensive intelligence.
Beyond the compass of the heart pervades all embracing love infinite. This
great cause of all causes -The one Truth -God The Beloved of our heart, in
us resides He is the sweetest Companion Giver of true solace, peace and joy
Have Him and all your known and unknown Longings are fulfilled.

Satsang Where Is Baba - He Is Everywhere

Satsang Where Is Baba - He Is Everywhere

Where Is Baba - He Is Everywhere
By S. Muni

No matter what his caste and clan, lie who remembers Sai Baba will always he
taken care of.......
- Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

This is not a story or fiction but a real life situation in 1974 that
happened in TlSCO-owned Hathibari Limestone quarry in Sundargarh district of
Orissa.

My second son was aged five years then and on his way to the school had
consumed a few berries of a wild bushy plant which is very common in the
mining area. On reaching the school he had continuous vomiting and the
school authorities sent him home.

My wife arranged for him to be taken to the TISCO Camp Hospital. It was a
case of acute poisoning. His condition turned grave as he started vomiting
blood continuously. By the time I reached the hospital he had lost his
consciousness and was gasping for breath. Doctors wanted to shift him to
Rourkela - 32 km away for blood transfusion, if he regained consciousness in
the next thirty minutes.

The deadline of 30 minutes was a trying time for all of us. My only hope was
Lord Sainath. I prayed to Him for His help. If my son survives the crisis, I
vowed that I will take him to Shirdi and offer a rose-garland to His
Samadhi. Otherwise, I will forget Sai Baba once and for all, I cried
bitterly.

The clock was ticking and seconds grew into minutes. My pulse too was
heating faster. On a mental plane I was already at Shirdi prostrating to
Baba's Samadhi and seeking His blessings. As the deadline of thirty minutes
set by the Doctors was about to be over, my son cried out "Where is Baba?"
Doctors examined him and confirmed that his body is warming up. They had a
sigh of relief and told me: "Mr. Mani, your son is calling." In Hindi,
'Baba' refers to father and them though! Thai my son was looking for me. I
told them that my son is calling the Almighty Sai Baba who is everywhere.

The recovery phase was very fast- My son responded to the treatment and
became all right soon. Everyone was happy at the outcome. It is indeed His
grace and my son had a re-birth.

Fishing for FAILURE
Man swims in the sea of self-satisfaction,
Nibbles at the bait of procrastination.
Swallows the hook of mediocrity, and
Ends up in the net of failure.

There are some experiences which are beyond explanation. They exist as
sunlight. The manifestation of divinity is beyond all our limited
perceptions. As for myself, I cannot explain the cause of incidents; but
they exist as clear as sunlight. I humbly try to catch the spirit.

My parents and grandparents were indeed blessed to see Sai Baba when he was
physically alive. One day Baba gave to my father a coconut, some sweets and
two silver coins to my grandfather, who was then working as a Deputy
Collector at Nasik. He asked my father to give him a 'Dakshina' of nine
rupees and also gave him a chillim to smoke. Both my father and grandfather
started worshiping Sai Baba even after we shifted to Jamkhandi in Karnataka.
The elders in the family objected to this worship and in order not to hurt
their feelings, my grandfather put the photo of Sai into a suitcase. They
worshipped Sai Baba mentally till the last breath of their lives. As I was a
pet grandchild, my grandfather used to narrate miracles of Sai Baba. He
became Dewan of Bhor, later at Ramdurga and finally at Jamkhandi till it
merged in the independent India. In his retired life he spent on spiritual
quests and I remember Mr. B.D. Jatti (who later on became Vice-President of
India) visiting him now and then.

During this time, Gurudev Ranade, who was then the Vice-Chancellor of
Allahabad University frequently called on my grandfather at Jamkhandi. My
grandfather died in 1958.

Then the problems started for us. I graduated at Poona and had got into the
Law College when my grandfather passed away. Since the financial position
became critical after his death, I had to leave the Law college and work as
a teacher at Malvan. Here due to a strange coincidence, I came in contact
with a girl, I liked her and subsequently we married.

After marriage, I learnt that my wife was a very quiet devotee of Sai
Maharaj and as any other young man, in order to please the newly married
spouse; I also started worshipping Sai Baba. She had a photo of Sai Baba
with a horse. Along with her, I started reading 'Sai pothi'. I felt this was
more pretence than devotion!

In 1965, we were blessed with a son. My son was healthy but gave indications
of dumbness. We did not know what to do. We took him to Shirdi when he was
two-year old. He virtually slept off on the’ Samadhi’. When we returned home
two days later, he was saying 'Baba- Baba'. He picked up vocabulary and he
became normal in all respects. This miracle changed my attitude towards Baba
and I accepted him as my God!

We shifted to Goa in 1960. On seeing our worship of Sai Baba a good number
of neighbors also became His devotees. We hold ‘Satsang’ and the number is
ever increasing. In 1977, a devotee by name Avinash went to Shirdi and
brought a small bag of Udhi. My wife told him: "Avinash! You came from
Shirdi. Why did you not bring Baba with you"? He answered: "Baba is coming -
Baba is coming. He is on His way." Avinash's word turned out to be
prophetic. On 9th June 1977 my wife had a dream: "Your brother-in-law is
coming. Do not allow him straightaway. Take out ‘Dristi’ (evil eye) and then
allow him to meet your husband". My wife saw in her dream Sai Baba in orange
robes climbing the footsteps and herself taking out ‘Dristi’ with a piece of
bread and then Sai Baba entering the house. The dream ended. I did not
attach any importance to her dream but she had implicit faith that Baba is
coming to us:
On 22nd June 1977, in the afternoon, someone tapped the front door. I opened
the door and noticed that two cars were parked close to my house and around
20-30 people were standing near the cars. A Sai devotee by name Sri Abajee
Panshikar greeted me and said: "We have brought Sai Murthji to install in
the temple tomorrow. In the temple, arrangements are still to be made. So we
would like to keep the idol in your house for tonight".

We agreed. Baba's idol was brought inside and kept on a table. In the night,
we performed 'Arathi' and sang Sai-bhajans. My wife said: "Baba- you really
belong to us. You should not leave us." I laughed at her request and said
"Baba will go away to the temple."

Next day, around noon people started gathering near the temple. Sai-devotees
Kulkarni, Kishore Sahoo, Jaya Rao came to my house. News came that there was
some difficulty in installing the idol in the temple. Ultimately the crowd
came to my place and in a chorus said: "Let the Murthi be here". They
performed Ganapathi pooja, Sathyanarayana pooja and then the idol was
installed on a table in my house. Baba has stayed permanently with us since
then! In our own humble way we worship Him. People from different parts of
the world have attended ‘arati’ and ‘pooja’ in our house and everyone has
got some experience or the other. Prayers have been answered. Sai Baba is
blessing us and is close to us in every moment of life. Thus Sai Baba came
to us in an incredible manner.

Satsang Sai Baba's Help at Ahmadabad By Sri Narasimha Swamiji

Satsang Sai Baba's Help at Ahmadabad By Sri Narasimha Swamiji

Sai Baba's Help at Ahmadabad
By Sri Narasimha Swamiji
Life is for Service
Life is for service and for sacrifice
Spare life and you clog it with pain and sorrow
Expand it like clouds in the sky
And pour down the showers of joy and peace
On all the world's creatures
Reveal the hidden beauty of human nature
Like the verdure on the hills and plains
After the monsoon rains
Thus life is a potent power charged with goodness, kindness and love.

Sai Baba's chamatkars are very varied and have extended over a very long
period. Ahmadabad is a strange instance of Sai Baba's chamatkars. Here a
well-known lawyer of good standing, Sri C.C. Mankewatlah, was the person for
whose benefit Baba's leelas were performed. We may give his experience as it
appeared in the September 1953 issue of 'Sai Sudha', in the words of Sri
Mankewallah himself: -

"From 1948 to 1952, I suffered from Dropsy and Gastric ulcer. I had no
appetite. I vomited blood and could not eat anything or even take water. My
weight became abnormal, viz., 300 pounds. I was bedridden and Doctors
attended on me. In April 1952, the Doctors gave up hope of my recovery, when
I started vomiting blood profusely. They gave two days time for me to die!
Some friends had advised me to worship Sai Baba (his temple is opposite to
my house) and I had hung up Baba's picture in front of me and worshipped
Him. After looking into his photo, I got affection for him. The continuous
attraction of his photo on my mind and my relatives' talk gave me a sudden
vision of Sai Baba when I was awake at 6PM. He told me: 'I am not a fakir. I
am an incarnation of Datta. I will take care of you - don't worry.' The next
day, I got two books in Gujarathi on Sai Baba and read them.

"Two days later, when Doctors completely gave up hopes and said that I may
not survive till evening, Baba appeared in front of me at about 1 PM. First
a light came from the door and Baba came in that light and my mother. I
heard his words in Gujarathi which meant: "Child, fear not. I have taken
away all your troubles. Send your son Turt immediately to Shirdi." Then he
disappeared through the door.

I consulted my mother and we decided to send my son to Shirdi the same day.
Again Baba appeared at 6 PM and said: "Don't worry! I am with your son also.
Tomorrow by 12 noon you will receive a telegram from him saying that he has
reached Shirdi safe." When we told our visions to the Doctors they laughed
at us and made fun of me as well as Sai Baba. The Doctors felt them mere
hallucinations.

"Next day, as Sai Baba had promised we got the telegram from my son about
his reaching Shirdi safe. Then the turning point started. I began to purge.
I continuously purged for 24 hours. Urine also passed. No blood passed. My
body became light and the heart beat and pulse became normal. When weighed,
I was only 175 pounds, as against 300 earlier. Doctors were surprised at the
turn of events. From that time my health improved and in two months I became
my normal self. I have been attending to all work as a normal individual I
went to Shirdi and completed South Indian pilgrimage. Sai Baba commanded me
to visit His shrine in AISS, Madras, which I have done. Indeed Baba is
guiding me and. protecting me."

In 1953 was the first appearance of Baba to Sri Mankewalla but this did not
stop with 1953. He had repeated appearances and help of Sai Baba, 'Sai Baba
is ever active from His Samadhi' is illustrated from the message {published
in Sai Sudha - September 1954) from Sri Mankewalla runs as follows: " It is
with great sense of surprise, joy and blessedness that I am penning these
few lines to you, being yester night reminded by Sri Sai Baba, who, with His
habitual smiling face, inspired me in semi-awakened state at the dawn of the
morning to refer this matter to you, and to bring to your notice that 'Sri
Baba is always present before His bhaktas.' He is the guiding and all
pervading power that shapes the ends of devotees and even of the Universe.
He has once saved me from the jaws of death, and he only guides me in all my
and everybody's career, in this world. I saw Baba standing before me with
his stick laughing, and telling me the above fact and especially asking me
to refer the same to you (Narasimha Swamiji). Why? That I do not know.

By the grace of Sai Baba after I recovered from (attack of the icy hands of
pluto) death. I appeared in many civil and criminal cases and I have become
successful in all cases. Every moment in life, I feel the presence of Sai
Baba. I always feel that like a parent taking care of his child, He always
takes care of me. I have some times to pass through severe tests in life. I
had to struggle hard with worldly affairs, but in all, I am triumphant. Even
in spiritual worship, Baba's presence is felt. He always reminds me at the
proper time, and makes me feel that He is present watching all my movements,
and guiding and shaping my life's career in a wonderful way.

"I again remind you that I am writing you this at the express command of Sri
Baba, who has commanded me to refer this matter to you."

Sai Baba is undoubtedly now living and retaining the same nature and
carrying on the same mission. During His life in the flesh up to 1918 at
Shirdi, Baba said "Maim Allahum". His nature, functions, and mission were
all divine. These are undoubtedly to help people who put faith in God,
especially in the form of Sai. So, Sai is still carrying His mission of
removing the distress, of strengthening faith, of helping devotees’ in.
trouble and of leading those who surrender themselves to Him to the highest
goal that man can attain.

Satsang Boundless mercy of Baba and Swamiji

Satsang Boundless mercy of Baba and Swamiji

Boundless mercy of Baba and Swamiji
By Smt. Kamala Mani
Time comes in everybody's life to pay his gratitude to his Guru. During the
past seven years, Sai Baba and Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji have showered upon
me and my family their blessings and have pulled us out of many a difficult
situation. The purpose of this article would have been served if all the
devotees of Sai Baba and Swamiji cast their burden on them and wait to see
the results.

In 1985, my daughter passed her XII Standard examination. She wanted to
become a doctor and nothing else. Though she had secured good marks, they
were not good enough to get her automatic entry into a Government medical
college. As she was very adamant, we got her admitted to a private medical
college. Though this was much beyond our financial capacity, Baba and
Swamiji saw to it that her medical education was completed unhindered. The
moment I put her in the college, certain forces which were burning with
jealousy and were inimical to us, got my husband's salary reduced by 50% to
see that his daughter's education was discontinued (my husband is a partner
in a family business and takes his monthly salary). Sai Baba and Swamiji put
all of them to shame by helping at every step with money encouragement and
guidance through dreams and visions.

After finishing her MBBS in December '90, my daughter wanted to go to Saudi
Arabia and earn a lot of money. She could not succeed as three years'
experience is a must. Then we came across an alliance where the groom is
working as a doctor in Saudi Arabia and was confident of getting her a good
job even without the requisite experience. My daughter was married on
12-12-91 and joined her husband immediately thereafter. She got a nice job
and is doing well. What else is this except the mercy of Sai Baba and
Swamiji?

While trying to find a groom for her, because of my faith in Swamiji, I felt
that her would be husband would also be from Bangalore. Lo and behold,
without any effort we got a very good alliance from Bangalore from a
religious and pious family, who demanded nothing from us. As we had spent
heavily on our daughter's education, we were unprepared financially to
conduct the marriage. Help came to us unasked. Hail His mercy!

Swamiji also got our son admission in the National Defense Academy, Pune. He
saw to it that he passed out from there in December '91 and he is now in
"Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, waiting to be commissioned as 2nd
Lieutenant by the end of this year. As getting through NDA training is not
easy, we were worried throughout. But Baba and Swamiji appeared in my dreams
several times and assured "Don't worry. One day your son will become a very
big officer in the Army."

Swamiji once told me in my dream: "Then baytti ko meraj dhua hai".

Like me and my husband, my two children have also great faith in Baba and
Swamiji and that faith has not gone in vain.

I have read umpty times Baba Satcharitra and Sri R. Parthasarathi's "Apostle
of Love". I and my family have been amply rewarded.
OM SAI SRI SAI JAVA JAYA SAI!

Satsang Destiny-Baba's Distribution By Prahlad Hulyaikar

Satsang Destiny-Baba's Distribution By Prahlad Hulyaikar

Destiny-Baba's Distribution
By Prahlad Hulyaikar
The Lord has no favorites; He loves all equally. The sun shines the same on
fire charcoal and on the diamond, but the diamond receives and reflects the
light. Most persons have “charcoal” mentalities; that is why they think that
God does not bless them. The love and blessings are there; man has only to
receive them.
- Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

It was the year 1980. The Dipavali Holidays had begun. Sri Jai Rao
(son-in-law of late Kishor Sahu) started visiting us frequently. He used to
attend Arathi session in the evening and then go home to Vasco. On one
Friday, during Aarati session, my wife saw some events taking place in the
space, close to Baba's Murthi. She saw that Sri Rao had fallen down from his
Motor Cycle and his head was sprayed with a white powder. On the same night
Baba appeared in her dream and said, "Your Rao has fallen down and broken
his hand. Do not worry much, it is predestined, but I am distributing the
quantum of suffering". My wife woke up suddenly and narrated the strange
dream to me. I told her that it was a dream and not to worry.

On Saturday Jai Rao came to Calangule in the morning. He talked to me on
different subjects. As it was noon, we sat for lunch. A boy named Bhanudas
(Noti) happened to come to take Baba's Darshan. He is my neighbor and is a
motor cycle pilot. My wife said to Rao, as she was serving "Noti is a real
devotee of Sai Baba. He always helps those who are in difficulty." Shree Jai
Rao exchanged greetings with him. Noti went home. The evening Aarati session
was over and then Rao also left.

As Rao was leaving my wife cautioned him and advised him to go slow. Rao
said, "Bai. I have been riding a motorcycle even in States. I am a seasoned
driver. Your fears are baseless." My wife said to him. "Rao, nobody can
escape destiny. Devotion to God mitigates the intensity less suffering". Rao
said jokingly, “I do not understand the philosophy the destiny. Nothing is
going to happen to me. You will see me tomorrow perfectly safe". Rao reached
Vasco safely that night. On Monday Rao came as usual. He had lunch with us.
He had his meal and then decided lo go to Vasco at 5 p.m. My wife insisted
he should stay and go to Vasco the next day. Rao said, he could not stay as
his wife was waiting for him. Rao left Calangule at 5.10 p.m. At 5.45 p.m.
he dashed against a cycle rider at a place called Agashi. The cycle rider
was carrying wheat flour. The cycle was badly damaged but the rider escaped
unhurt. Rao fell down on his face and the whole flour was sprayed all over
his body.

The lamp was damaged, his spectacles were broken to pieces and Rao got an
injury to his left hand. People gathered. Rao could not get up. Just at the
moment Noli was coming from Vasco to Calangute, He saw the crowd on the
road. He slopped his vehicle to find out who was injured. He could not
believe it - it was the same person Rao, who had exchanged greetings with
him in my house, two days back. Noli lifted Rao and took him to a clinic.
After first aid, he took him to Vasco in a private car.

Noli came to us and reported what had happened. At the same time when Rao
fell down at Agashi a big bee stung a fingered my wife and her hand started
swelling. She said tome "Rao has fallen down, Baba hesitated his
distribution. Let us accept it. One Mr.Lucio Miranda. (Rao's close friend)
was in Bombay when the incident took place. On the same day and at the same
time, some goondas attacked him near Strand Cinema and forcibly pulled off
his wrist-watch causing an injury to his left hand. On the next day we all
went to Vasco to see Rao. There he got a phone message from Lucio about his
encounter with goondas. Rao greeted us with one hand and said to my wife,
"Bai, put a little Udi on my hand".

This incident profoundly speaks that we are all inter-related. Destiny is
not absolute. We are brothers and sisters in Sai family. We all have to
share pleasure and pain without any compliant. This is Baba’s Spiritual
Communism, or calls it Socialism.

Satsang Sai Ka Aangan -World's first replica of Dwarkamayee Masjid after Shirdi

Satsang Sai Ka Aangan -World's first replica of Dwarkamayee Masjid after Shirdi

Sai Ka Aangan
Delhi is the heart of India ,they say and reflects the state of the Nation. Indeed it does,

for the growing urbanization ,fast paced life and concrete jungle that has come to

represent the obvious repercussions of modernity is beginning to tell its own tale.So as

one winds the way from Delhi and onward towards Sushant Lok Gurgaon, broad roads lined with

matchbox shaped buildings under construction can be seen throughout. The hustle - bustle of

life ,the glittering shops that justify consumerism ,all stare back at the visitor.
As one drives further down towards the end of Sushant Lok ,one suddenly sees an old relic

on the horizon. A piece of architecture from the 18th /19th century , a slanting brick roof

and an expanse, that leaves one dazed. This is the replica of Dwarkamai from Shirdi. With the

inspiration of revered Guruji Shri C.B Satpathy and Mrs Meera Satpathy a dream of Ms Kumkum

Bhatia of the Sai Prakash Spiritual and Charitable Trust, that is slowly taking shape since

Oct 2000,when the Bhumi Poojan was conducted.
Several auspicious events have already been held at the temple even when it had no concrete

roof and one could see the stars at night .On 18th March 2002 on Maha Shivratri day,Guruji

Shri C.B Satpathyji and just a handful of devotees congregated at the temple premises in

the morning. The temple had a large "aangan" still not paved or constructed ,giving it an

aesthetic look coupled with sylvan surroundings. The temple was decorated with lamps and

flowers and the place wore a festive look.Guruji, conducted Puja of Shri Sainath. There

after Mrs Mangla Apte ,who had come all the way from New Jersey USA,rendered beautiful

Marathi bhajans on Shri Sainath.
In the impending dusk, surrounded by devotees who sang Bhajans,Guruji Shri Satpathyji

presided over the Holi festival on 28th March 2002, Smt Meera Satpathy also graced this

evening.
Ram Navmi, which has a very special significance with Sainath and Shirdi as it was on this

day that Hindus and Muslims decided to celebrate the Urs and the Navami procession

together.Hence , Guruji Shri C. B Satpathyji decided to have the inaugration of this temple

on 21st April,2002 the Ram Navmi day.
On this day, amidst Navagraha Pooja, chanting of " Shri Sainathaya Namaha" and devotional

songs, two beautiful Moorties of Sainath were consecrated. One of them is made of white

marble which sits high on the stone. The other life size Moorti of Baba , in sitting

posture in Dwarkamayee, made of fibre glass communicates to the devotees.

Since the consecration ceremony, 4 Aartis are being conducted every morning at 9 a.m, 12

noon, evening at 6:30 p.m, and 9 pm at night. The Palki is taken in a procession every

Thursday.
It is also proposed to construct a replica of the Samadhi Mandir at Shirdi, Chavadi, and

Hanuman temple. Undoubtely, Sai Ka Aagan will be an oasis for those seeking spiritual

solace and moments of peace amidst the hustle bustle of Delhi.

About The Temple
The temple has stone walls, old lamps from the times in Shirdi and artifacts just like one

is used to seeing in Dwarakamai- the favourite residence of Shri Shirdi Sainath. No effort

has been spared to identify every detail and replicate so that those who wish to visit

Shirdi as often as possible can at least still fulfil their heart's desire by being in

these environs for a few moments.
The horse Shyam Karna, the tiger who died at Sai Baba's feet, the Chulla where he cooked

food, and the Chakki with which he is said to have ground the ailments of His devotees are

all replicated.

The life size statue of Baba ,in sitting posture made of fibre glass takes one back to the

times when Sainath would sit among His followers and lovingly distribute Udi and food

cooked with His own hands. The statue embodies and emits an aura of resplendence to all the

devotees and countless others.
The sacred embers of Lord Sai's Dhuni at Shirdi were brought from the sanctum sanctorium at

Sai temple at Chhatarpur.

Inauguration of Dwarkamai in Sushant Lok
The formal innauguration of Dwarkamayee Masjid was done by revered Guruji C.B Satpathy ji

on Sunday 21st April ,2002 which was the RamNavami day.
After the formal Pooja at dusk, Deepavli Utsav was celebrated by lighting candles all along

a 40 X 30 feet bust sketch of Shirdi Sai Nath.At the same time star studded sky was strewn

with glittering and colourful "Atishbazi".
This was followed by a procession of a palanquin decorated with Zari and flowers on red

satin. The Palki was carried by the devotees on their shoulders under a beautiful deep red

velvet umbrella decorated with an intricate Zardosi work. This procession was taken out

through the temple precincts led by Guruji. The Palki proceeded along with the sounds of

Nadyaswaram,Mridung, Jhanj,Dhol and Shankh. The chanting of "OM SAI SHRI SAI JAI JAI SAI"

made the environment auspicious, heavenly and intoxicating.
As the Palki swayed towards the Gurustahn with the tune of melodious combination of musical

notes through the unpaved grounds of the temple there was an intermittent shower of

fragrant rose petals from the sky.
Gurusthan, the place where Guruji had planted the neem sapling was lit up with Diyas, incense

sticks. The atmosphere became nostalgic with the fragrance of marigold and Loban. The framed

picture of Shri Sainath placed in the Palki was welcomed with chandan, kumkum, garland and

coconut, by Guruji.
The ceremony ended with Shej Aarti followed by Satguru Ka Langar which included Baba's

favourite Kacharya and Pooran Poli. All the devotees carried along with them the memory of

this auspicious day.

Dusshera Celebrations
Dusshera, which happens to be the Mahasamadhi Day of Shirdi Sai Baba, was clebrated on

Tuesday the 15th October 2002, at Dwarka Mai Temple in Sai Ka Aangan at Sushant Lok

Gurgaon. This was the first Mahasamadhi Day celebration here in this Aangan as this temple

was inaugurated on 21st April 2002, the Ram Navami Day.
After many years three things coincided, Dusshera 15th October and Tuesday. This was the

exact combination of the day Baba took his Mahasamadhi in the year 1918.
The day started with Havans, Pujas and MahaAbhishek of Baba followed by Langar. Bhajan

Sandhya was organised in the evening. The Chief Patron Guruji Shri C.B.satpathy and his

wife Mrs. Mera Satpathy blessed the occasion.

An experience of a devotee from USA - Thakur Mukund Raj
It was on Saturday December 7th 2002 morning that we had a chance to visit “Sai ka Angan”,

Baba’s abode on the outskirts of Delhi. Baba seems to have taken on after the popular

Indian mantra, “Chalo Delhi”, Delhi being capital of India. Once someone steps inside the

door, then the difference between Shirdi and this place dissolves. The layout, the

structure, interior and everything up to the nails in walls is so carefully done that one

can’t say the difference between Baba’s abode in Shirdi and here. Not only that, HE himself

sits next to the railing in the form of a life sized replica of HIS form as though saying

to his visitors; “When this masjid was not built, then also I was present here but no one

recognized me; hence I have come with the masjid, so that my devotees can recognize this

place also as my abode!”
It is not mere coincidence that at that moment a family arrived here just returning from

their trip to Shirdi and the lady’s statement bears truth when she exclaimed “It seems that

we did not even leave and we are still in Shirdi!” Such is the magic of this place. Not to

be carried away just by emotions and people’s reactions we decided to put our faith to

test. The first thought that came to the mind was that no one speaks Marathi here, so this

place can’t be Shirdi! What a cheap thought one may say! But pat came back the reply from

the master sitting in his court. All of a sudden the speakers started blazing the glory of

Shirdi and the Master in Marathi. Where from and who played the tape is not of importance

so much that the tape played in Marathi and it was glorifying the Lord as was done by the

villagers each morning in Shirdi. It started looking and feeling like the stories and

characters were rising from the pages of Sai Satcharita to enact and replay the scenes that

took place almost a century ago!
Not still satisfied, the eyes and the mind wanted more! The body stood in the “Sabha

Mandap” or courtyard outside the famous three steps of the Masjid and prayed to Baba.

“Baba, if this is you then I can’t climb the steps with out your permission. So, hey lord,

till you give express permission, we can’t come up!” Not even a minute passed after this

mental prayer was offered then came the result from the master. Some one walked up and

said, “Please step into the masjid and do “phanka” (fan the master)”. With tears in eyes,

hair standing up on its edges and ego crushed, the command was instantly accepted and

obeyed.
Then as if to satisfy more, the Master continued to play his game. All of a sudden from no

where long lines of children, mothers and fathers, started queuing in front of the masjid.

Upon inquiry, it was informed that on this day, there was a comprehensive health camp being

organized by “Sukarya” a non governmental organization for the benefit of poor and needy

followed by “annadan” or feeding the poor. Baba’s Handi and Radha krihsna Mayi’s kitchen

started playing in the very front of our eyes. Many ladies donning the roles of Laxmi and

Radha Krishna Mayi relived the days of Baba’s Shirdi, some cutting vegetables, some serving

the food, some cooking but all of them very immersed in telling tales of Baba’s influence

in their lives!
Came the time for Arathis, one could clearly hear the conch of the shell loud and clear for

miles, inviting and informing one and all of the time for Arathi. The masjid roared with

live singing of “Ghevooni Pancharathi..”. And our feeble minds wanted to test Baba’s

strength merely on the language of Marathi! “Shame on us! O’ Lord of Lords, please forgive

this sinner! How many times have you told and explained to us and how many times we have

not listened we know not, by you know it all! Hey Baba, have mercy. At this moment, we do

not even feel worthy of your grace but out of your kindness, please do forgive us for we

are not even worthy of that!”. The mind presently came back as the arathi was ending. Then

came the time for “langar” or partaking of food. Men and women got busy in serving the food

that was being prepared since morning. Seeing there were big lines, we thought of waiting

on the side. Stepping on the dirt, all of sudden the eyes fell on a long line of ants

walking very briskly in a great hurry. Curiosity arisen, we started to follow the long line

of ants very busily going and coming from somewhere. The trail led straight to the back of

the masjid, where there was a small hole and through which were seen ants carrying on their

back, a pinch of food for a human, but as big as a cart load no doubt for the little ant in

a line. The same food that was being served on the other side of the wall! Reminds of food

served from Baba’s daily begging rounds? By this time, the heart was begging the Master to

stop proving his point!
The jet lag started to set in, the body was very tired from the long journey and the back

was hurting immensely. The body was screaming to rest and lie down but the crowds were

still looming. How can one leave without taking Baba’s prasad and his permission. After

all, He has already shown his presence! The mind started its game once again. “Why not ask

Baba to cure this hurt and avoid bearing the pain? He is here isn’t it, then why can’t he

provide relief for it?” Not even a moment passed after the thought arose that the eyes fell

on a sign declaring that place to be where Baba stood leaning and distributing Udhi. Having

read the sign, we quickly walked there and standing against the wall started rubbing our

backs to the wall. In less than few minutes, all the pain in the back vanished and the body

felt well rested with out any signs of tiredness at all!
Thus the day continued with sharing and listening to Baba’s leelas and stories from many.

While taking his leave, a though arose to pen this day down for whose benefit and for whom

we know not! We are sure though that through this he will reach his intended audience. The

Dwarkamayee of North India, “Sai Ka Angan”, is located in Sushant Lok, Gurgaon, Haryana on

the outskirts of Delhi.
If one is in Delhi for a visit, one should surely check out this place of Baba that brings

Shirdi and its experience away from Shirdi.

success; success awaits such a person. If you perform each action as worship
of Sai Baba then you will not have to remember Sai Baba; Sai Baba Himself
will remember you."
- Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

It was during 1960-61. I was working as an Assistant Engineer, Western
Railway at Botad, about 100 miles from Ahmadabad. A mail train met with an
accident at a Railway Station - 'Bhimnath' in my jurisdiction, resulting in
the loss of lives. I had to rush to the site of accident to restore the
railway line, to attend to the transshipment of hundreds of stranded
passengers, to arrange medical aid, to face interrogation by the local
police and press reporters, and answering nerve breaking queries of my
superiors. All these happened from 7 pm and the entire night. Though I was
sure, that I was not at fault, still people around me including some of the
railway officials, were talking that I would be suspended the following day
by the Chief Engineer, coming from Bombay, and further disciplinary action
would be taken. There was none to support me and at least to sympathize with
me. I was thinking of Sai Baba and mentally asking him: “Baba, what wrong
have I done? Why this torture”?

Thus praying, I was doing my duty of arranging transshipment of stranded
passengers at dead of night from the site of accident to the relief train
which was at a distance of nearly one kilometer. At about 1 a.m., one old
gentlemen about 6 ft. tall, well built, wearing a white long, soiled jubba
and a scarf with a knot tied round his head and carrying a long stick and a
bag hanging from his shoulder came slowly towards me. He spoke to me in
Hindi thus: "What a big accident? How to go?" I did not respond to him, as
my mind was totally pre-occupied. He passed a few steps, almost brushing my
shoulder. Then somehow I asked him to wait and called one of assistants who
was having a lantern and told him to escort this old gentleman carefully to
the other train. On hearing this, this old man came back to me and patted my
shoulders and said "Pikhir math karo, sab teek ho jayega” (Don't worry,
everything will be alright). So saying he stared at me for a few seconds and
left. Hardly few more seconds must have passed when I shouted: "Baba, where
are you" and ran like a mad man in search of him. But I could not find him
anywhere.

I am quite sure that he was none other than Lord Sainath and I got solace.
Next day the Chief Engineer came from Bombay and told me ‘not to worry’ and
handled the rest of the work. This in spite of other officials insisting
that I be suspended. Thereafter, other routine enquiry was conducted and I
was appreciated in my work. The savior is none but all merciful Sai BABA.

The mouth of man is a Temple of the Lord. Alas! We desecrate it by indulging
the tongue in useless talk and speaking ill of others. "O my soul! Sing the
praises of the Lord, day and night, so that not a single harsh or negative
word leaves the lips!"

Om Shree Ganeshaya Namah!
Om Sai Ram!
Dear Shirdi Sai Baba Devotees,
With the advent of modern communication, the world is becoming small, and many Sai devotees

in various professions travel around the world. Being away from their family and friends,

going to a Sai temple makes a lot of Sai bhakts feel closer to home and it also helps them

stay connected to their spiritual side. But the only problem is that a lot of devotees

wished, that if they only knew where the nearest temple or satsang was where they could

visit and pray to our Shri Sadguru Sainath. There may be a argument that Sai is present in

our hearts and is everywhere, but for some, - going to a temple or a satsang makes a lot of

difference since this gives them moral support in a foreign country..
To bridge this gap and to help Sai devotees, we have decided to build up a database of Sai

Temples, Sai Satsangs, Sai Groups , Sai websites etc which are around the world.. I ,

personally know of a place in Bellevue ,WA [USA] -where a few microsoft employees have

gathered and rented a small appartment where they all meet and do Sai bhajans and also do

the aartis every day. I am sure there are more places like those everywhere around the

world but the only problem is that very few sai bhakts are aware of it.. So I , hereby

request all Sai devotees to send me addresses of Sai temples or small Sai groups where

satsangs are held in the city that you live in -- including cities in India , Africa, UAE,

USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Rome, Paris,London , Thailand , Korea, China ,Hongkong, Singapore

etc etc --Just anywhere around the world..We will try to upload it in various Websites and

forward it to various groups to spread the word, so that devotees can visit the sites and

gather the relevant information and thereby be able to go to a Sai temple where ever they

are and get the bliss of Sai darshan .. Kindly send the following information at

debu7366@yahoo.com about the Sai temple nearest to where you live and please forward this

message to other Sai bhakts :::

"It is nothing but to invite pain and suffering, if you make your defective
intellect your guide for your life in the world. Victory ties in giving" the
reins of your mind to Sai Baba, and then, be free from any danger
whatsoever. He will surely take your life safely away with success from the
battlefield of this world. He is a renowned expert in driving (he chariots
of life.)
- Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

I participated in the Guru Poornima celebrations at Sai Spiritual Centre,
Bangalore on the 7th July 1990. We had 'Satsang' with several Guru-bandhus
like Sri Bhaskara Rao, Sri Seshadri and others. Sai Baba prompted me to
propose an additional one-hour program of daily chanting of 'Om Sai Sri Sai
Jaya Jaya Sai' from 5 pm to 6 pm. everyone agreed and this divine program
commenced from the 8th July 1990 onwards.

I stay in 'Doopanahally' area far away from Thyagarajanagar. However Sai
Baba enabled me to daily travel in a city bus from Doopanahally and am
present at 5 pm for the 'Nama Japam'. There was no problem for three days on
8th, 9th and 10th July 1990. However on the 11th July '90, I left my house
at 3-30 pm and came to the bus stop. Someone told me that the direct bus
from Doopanahally to NR Colony is cancelled and advised me to try
alternative bus service to reach Sai Mandir. Accordingly I got into a bus
and got down at down at Richmond Circle bus stop by about 4-10 pm. A bus
from Shivaji Nagar side came and was fully crowded. In my enthusiasm to be
on time at the Mandir, I tried to board the crowded bus. 'No -1, could not'
and I was pushed aside. I fell down on the ground and by Sai-grace nothing
happened.

As I got up, a school boy came to me and handed over to me a two-rupee note
saying that it fell down from my pocket when I was pushed aside. I was
astonished as I had taken a ten-rupee note from home and after purchasing a
ticket for one-rupee the balance amount of nine rupees was intact in my
purse. Then I remembered Baba's offering of two-pice 'Dakshina' to his Guru.
In the form of the school-boy Sai Baba was warning me of 'faith' and
'patience' and not to do things in haste. The boy shoved the two-rupee note
in my hand and mysteriously vanished in the crowd at the bus stop.

True to the warning given by Sai Baba, I got into another bus which was
quite empty and traveled comfortably to the Mandir. My eyes were full of
tears of gratitude to Sai Maharaj for saving me from a calamity.

Life after Death
All questions at Sai Spiritual Centre one day were about 'Life after Death'.
Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji only smiled and did not give a simple answer. To
his devotees who requested to know the reason for his evasiveness, Swamiji
later said: 'Have you observed that it is precisely those who do not know
what to do with this life who want another that will last forever?" "But is
there life after death or is there not?" persisted a devotee. "Is there life
before death? - that is the question" said the Swamiji enigmatically.

Satsang His Living Presence

Satsang His Living Presence

His Living Presence
By S. Natarajan

"He who has realized the pure joy derived from renunciation never cares even
to look at worldly enjoyments. The temptation of enjoyment, no doubt, appear
before him, assuming various charming forms, in order to attract him towards
them; but he rejects them all, like a person in possession of a jewel,
throwing away worthless pieces of glass and pebbles of various beautiful
colors."
- Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

The more we realise our Sadguru Sai Baba and think about our Radhakrishna
Swamiji, our faith in him is firmed up that Swamiji's grace and blessings
are nothing but Sai Baba's actions.

I recall an occasion in 1980 when our Swamiji's birthday was celebrated from
4th May 1980 to 6th May 1980 in our residence. Swamiji had attained
'Mahasamadhi' earlier in that year. We had Vishnu Sahasranama Parayan and
later 'archana' to Swamiji. After the puja, 'prasad' was offered to all. A
devotee-couple sat in the sacred place where our Swamiji had his
'Mahaprasad' for the last time in our house in 1978. The significance of
this sacred spot was mentioned to the devotee-couple. They were very happy
about it.

Ladies started serving the dishes, and I was chanting Vishnu Sahasra Namam
facing Swamiji's picture and the guests. As the 'prasad' was about to be
concluded, the devotee-couple sitting in the sacred spot where Swamiji had
his 'prasad' started exclaiming: "See, Swamiji is here - Swamiji is here".
Everyone could not for a moment realise what was happening. Then, we saw a
bunch of flowers floating in the hall and coming down with a whizzing sound.
It settled down a nearby window where our Swamiji had sat for the last
occasion. The flowers were distributed as 'prasad' to the devotees. We
continue to experience Swamiji's living presence in our life. His spiritual
force guides and protects us in every thing we do.

"The human life is full of funny jokes. One complains of the lack of
opportunities but do you know how many times 'Enlightenment' comes and
knocks at your door but returns disappointed finding you in the sleep of
unawareness? Understand this and rise above these funny jokes of life."
- Radhakrishna Swamiji

It was sometimes during April-May '90 around 9.00 A.M. my boss in the office
called me and said: "There was a phone call just now from our Mani who seems
to be awfully upset that his little son has put a groundnut
(Cheenabadam/Mungfalli) into his nose and it is stuck up inside neither
coming out nor going down chocking his nose. Please rush, get a vehicle from
our garage and take the baby to the nearest doctor for removing the
groundnut from his nose. Please go and waste no time." I left immediately.

When I met the parents they were very much upset and worried. We went to the
local clinic and though the doctor tried his best to remove the seed from
the baby's nose he could not pull it out smoothly without causing any injury
for want of proper surgical instrument and he suggested us to rush to an
E.N.T. Specialist. We proceeded to Rourkela where there is a big nursing
home with specialists but were told that the ENT specialist had left the
hospital for lunch. We rushed to his residence. Meanwhile, when we were
traveling, I remembered BABA's Holy Udhi in my purse which I always keep. I
took some Udhi, applied on the baby's forehead and gave a little in his
mouth and consoled and assured the parents that they need not worry at this
and Baba will take care of their baby. When we reached the ENT specialist's
residence he had just finished his lunch. He immediately attended to the
baby and believe it or not, within seconds he pulled out the groundnut seed
from the baby's nose without causing the slightest pain or injury. The
doctor told me it was all God's grace we have reached in time and brought
the baby to him! He showed us the big half portion of the groundnut which
was stuck up in the nose of the baby.

The parents were happy at the outcome. They said it is SAILEELA. They
promised me that certainly they would attend Sai Baba Puja on a Thursday
with their offerings to Sai Baba. On the last occasion when I met him he
told me the baby suffered from some minor injuries on 2/3 occasions by
falling and hitting on hard objects and he remembered their vow and he would
certainly come on 30-8-1990 (Thursday). I told him they are most welcome to
Sai-Home any time for Divine Darshan of Sai Maharaj and their prayers. He
joined us in our ceremonies on 30-8-90 with great devotion to show his
gratitude to Shirdi Nath Sai Baba in our Sai-Home. How Baba pulls His
devotees towards Him in His own style. "Even if you discard Me, I drag you
(my devotee) towards me and be ever with you, once you have taken refuge in
me and I rush to your rescue wherever you may be" - SAI BABA

The Substance
Sage Vyasa is reputed to have compiled the four Vedas, and composed the
eighteen Puranas and some other works. One day a student approached him and
put the question:-
"Revered Master, you have written so much. Where is the time to read it?
Can't you tell me the substance of your entire writings?"
Quick came the following reply from the profound sage: "Yes, my son, half a
sloka will do: To help others is virtue or religion; to hurt others is sin.

Sri Sai Amrit Vani - 31st May 2007

Sri Sai Amrit Vani

DEVOTEES MAY FORWARD THIS LETTER TO OTHER DEVOTEES.
31st May 2007
Jai Sai Ram
Strange are the ways of Baba to show HIS Leelas, as it appears to us. Today Chapter 39 of Sai Satcharitra was read in the Pooja. It is the chapter in which knowledge of Sanskrit of Baba has been shown. Which is also the current topic of the Serial of Baba on Star TV. When Mrs Gupta was reading the Sai Satcharitra her hands were filled with Udi , then the page was sprinkled with so much Udi that Mrs Gupta had to wipe it out to read it. Then Udi was all over her blouse and Saree in addition to the large quantity in her laps.
There was heavy rush of devotees this Thursday also and no space was left unoccupied in the main hall and the adjacent room. Few devotees had to sit on the mat in the varanda and two devotees even had to remain outside with their small kids. I have to rush to the ‘Halwai’ to bring more bhog for distribution , after the Pooja.\
Following devotees participated in absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra by reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places on 24th May 2007. The list is sorted as per their email ids. However Mrs. Gupta prayed for all the devotees. In this list only those devotees are included, who themselves recited or read Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places. The names of the devotees “for prayer”, are prayed for, but not included in the list. Kindly mention clearly, against each devotee’s name that he/she will recite or read or listen to Sri Sai Amrit Vani, or only for prayers. Please also give the name of the place.
Few letters without the name of the place have been left out.
This Thursday the 31st May we enjoyed the following Leelas.
1. Udi started appearing and oozing from the two photos on the wall from Monday itself, Hindi words ‘RAM’ ‘SHAM’ and ‘OM’, and figure of Trishool were formed with Udi on one photo.
Udi was there between the falls of the Sari and all over the sari, blouse and the Sai Satcharitra, which she was reading.
Baba was seen in the white dress near the mandir by few devotees.
Jai Sai Ram
