Sri Sai Amrit Vani and Prayan of Sai Satcharitra
30th August 2007

Jai Sai Ram

On 13th Sept 2007 Recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani will be held at Chandigarh instead of Sidhartha Extension, New Delhi.

Devotees are also requested to send their names, (i) for recitation of Sri Sai Amrit vani and (ii) for prayers separately in the same letter and send it directly to veena_gupta_ 2000@yahoo. com rather then sending to the yahoogroup. Only such letters should be sent to the group which are ment for all the members.
Today it was the completion of Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra by reading the last chapter ie of 51&52. It was completed with Baba's blessings. Every week Prayan of only one chapter was done every Thursday. Next cycle of Prayan of Sai Satcharitra will start from 20th Sept 2007. Devotees may follow with us in this regard and they also read the same chapter on Thursday along with recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani and have the blessings of Baba.

There was large gathering this Thursday, from far off places. Mr Manish and family was there from UAE, a family was from Malaysia, besides from far off places in Delhi.

Following devotees participated in absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers to Baba ( Shirdi) and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra by reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places on 30th August 2007 (The list is sorted as per their email ids, to avoid duplications) . However Mrs. Gupta prayed for all the devotees. In this list only those devotees are included, who themselves recited or read Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places. Kindly mention clearly, against each devotee's name that he/she will recite or read or listen to Sri Sai Amrit Vani, or the names are for prayers. Please also give the name of the place of all devotees, named in the email. Place is also important without it, the letter is not complete.

This Thursday the 30th Aug. we enjoyed the following Leelas of Baba (of Shirdi). It may seems to be repitative for the old members, but when the Leela are repetative, so the discription is also repitative. Every week many new members join the group, so I have to repeat the whole events that happen on this day.

1. On Tuesday, as it was Raksha Bandhan, many devotees tied the holy thread ( Rakhi ) to Baba here at Sidhartha Extension, New Delhi and Baba also blessed with Udi from almost all the photos and from statue in good quantity.

2. On Wednesday again Udi started oozing from the two photos on the wall and Hindi words `RAM' `SHAM' and `OM', and figure of Trishool were formed with Udi on one photo. Udi also started oozing from the main photo in the mandir. `RAM' `SHAM' and `OM' along with other figures were also formed on the photo. From Statue also, Udi started oozing from Wednesday.

3. There was lot of Water from the Charans this week also. Thali was emptied several times. The taste of water was similar to gulab jal and kewara mix. After distribution of Prasad, this water was also given to the devotees and again the Thali was filled with water. Devotees bring bottles to take the water home.

4. Lap of Mrs. Gupta was filled with Udi during the prayers.

5. Several devotees had Udi in the books of Sri Sai Amrit Vani.

6. On Thursday as soon as Bhog was offered, it was duly accepted by Baba and after the Sri Sai Amrit Vani we noticed that the box, which was placed before HIM was partially eaten and partially remained pieces of items in the box. Part of Bhog was on the lips of many photos and statue of Baba. These parts of the remains in the box were given to the devotees who offered that item of bhog to Baba. Partly eaten remains were having some figures on them. Several items were commen and parts of it were given to several other devotees.

7. Presence of Baba during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani, Prayer and Prayan of Sri Satcharitra was very strong. Several devotees, besides Mrs Gupta saw Baba in the white robe.

8. All the boxes of Bhog which were kept on the table were blessed with Udi,

9. The Charnamrit, the water in which Baba took the bath in the morning was also sweet as if some honey has been mixed into it.

10. Udi was there on the Documents, Photos of Baba, and also on and inside of many Sai Satcharitras which were placed on the table before Baba.

Satsang Surrender to Lord Sai By B. Umamaheswara Rao

Satsang Surrender to Lord Sai By B. Umamaheswara Rao

Surrender to Lord Sai
By B. Umamaheswara Rao

(Founder Editor - 'Sai Prabha and Editor 'Sainatha Prabha')

It is not Easy

IT IS NOT EASY

- to apologize

- to begin again

- to admit error

- to be unselfish

- to face a sneer

- to be considerate

- to endure success and prosperity

- to keep on trying in difficulties

- to profit by mistakes

- to forgive and forget

- to think and then act manfully

- to make best of what is God-given

- to shoulder deserved blame

- to subdue an ugly temper

- to master a critical tongue NO IT IS NOT EASY AT ALL.

'Shraddha' and 'Saburi' are the two-paisa dakshina that Lord Sai asked his devotees to give him to be led to His holy feet. The devotee loves Sai, as the child its mother, as the servant his master with complete dependence on Him.

Let us open out our hearts fully before Lord Sainath. Let us lay our hearts bare, confess all our shortcomings and weaknesses and appeal for strength to conquer them.

To increase bhakti in Sai, three things are necessary.

1. Constant repetition of Sai-nam 'OM SAI SRI SAIJAYA JAYA SAI'.

2. To see Lord Sai in all objects and beings.

3. To undergo all difficulties and sorrows in a spirit of resignation and renunciation.

All our weaknesses are destroyed the moment we surrender ourselves to Lord Sainath. The self surrender should not be only for a time. It must be continuous and the consciousness of the ego must leave us entirely and forever.

1. Acknowledgement of Sai-will as supreme:

Our ego refuses to submit to this truth and makes us suffer from disappointments and doubts. Let us always remember that Sai is the sole-doer and we are all merely instruments in His hands.

2. Realisation that Sai is always good, loving and compassionate:

So Sai-will works only for good. He is kind and compassionate. This gives us the necessary strength to patiently endure every trial and grief, seeing in it the hidden good, as in the apparent harsh treatment of the child by its mother when she chastises her child for its good.

3. Every moment is a part of Sai-eternity: Acceptance of the fact that Sai has assured the form

of the Universe of all creatures, of all beings and things in it. Let us consider every thing and every being as manifestation of Lord Sai. Then we have nothing to dislike or hate. Here we create an ocean of love in which we immerse ourselves and enjoy eternal bliss. "BE EVER IN SHIRDI SAI-BE-THUS IN SAIJOY".

4. This is an ideal that every Sai-devotee must have. Let us all strive to achieve it one hundred percent.

Diamond-Life

In this age of affluence many people...... .. When they meet obstacles... .... give up and take the course of least resistance. They refuse to stand up and face their problems eye-to-eye.

Little do they realize that sometimes the things against which they rebel most in life and look upon as obstacles are what they need most to develop their highest usefulness and efficiency.

If a diamond could talk, it would undoubtedly express resentment against the abrasive, grinding contact of the jeweler's wheel that grinds and polishes its facets. Yet.... without the jeweler's grinding wheel, the diamond has little commercial value. The swiftly revolving wheel cuts into the surface of the diamond and from a common-appearing pebble produces a gem of beauty that is admired and sought after. There is no other way to make a diamond except by grinding and polishing.

In the same way, human life must be subjected to difficulties, adversities, and discipline in order to bring out those qualities that will make life of value to the owner.

Prayer

Charles V called his son one day and showing him a beautiful sword and a sacred book, said, ''Choose between these two objects." The son preferred the breviary, and when the Emperor asked the reason for his decision, he simply replied, "My Father, with the sword I could conquer a kingdom, but with prayer I could gain Heaven which is more lasting and happier."

Satsang I carry on your burden - Baba By Chakor Ajgaonkar

Satsang I carry on your burden - Baba By Chakor Ajgaonkar

I carry on your burden - Baba
By Chakor Ajgaonkar (Former Editor of 'Sai Leela]

"Do you love dolls?" a little girl asked the guest "Yes, I do", he replied.

At once she ran and brought a heap of dolls. The guest asked her, "Which one do you love the most?"

"Promise not to laugh at it I tell you?" He said, "I promise".

She picked a doll whose hair had come off, with a broken nose, scratched cheek, one leg and one arm missing.

"This one"

"Why?” asked the visitor.

"Because", she answered, "If I don't love this one, no body else would!"

What a great lesson from a child! God loves the broken ones, those no one else loves!

In Gita, Lord Krishna has given express assurance that those who are totally dedicated to Him with implicit faith and those who worship Him incessantly are helped and protected by Him. Sai Baba has given a similar promise to His devotees. His symbolic discourse with Shyama fully reflects his divine assurance to devotees who place unflinching faith in his protection as guardian Godfather.

Shyama was a school teacher. He became the first knowledgeable and conscious follower, devotee and propagator of Sai Baba's glory among the incoming educated and elite persons who visited Shirdi occasionally during olden days.

At first Shyama considered Sai Baba as a crazy fakhir. He was attracted to Baba as he was fond of tobacco and Baba used to give him sips of chili. After having a close company of Baba, the intelligence and education of Shyama brought home the understanding to him, that the strange behavior of the Master has some scheme behind it. He used to select good and pious persons for blessing and granting udhi with boons, whereas Baba at once found out the black sheep and wicked persons in society and remonstrated them. Thus Shyama who used to treat Baba as a mad fakhir and came only to enjoy and relish tobacco smoking, came to realise that Baba was the wisest among men and greatest among the sadhus of contemporary decades. Slowly he became the introducer, mediator and follower of Baba and used his affinity as a media to incoming devotees.

Once Baba gave a book of Vishnu Sahasra Namam taken by Him form the bundle of a Ramadasi, Shyama refused to accept it. Instead he requested Baba to protect him, remove his worries directly without the mediation of book or name. Baba then assured (in the words of Sai Geetayan) as follows:-

"O! Shyama is it necessary for me to repeat this to you every time that I carry the burden of my devotees for ever. I swear by the sacred flames burning in the Dhuni. There will be nothing short in the house of my devotee. He will be never destitute of food and clothing. Those who forget their body consciousness in my memory are blessed by me. I carry their burden. Those who will climb the footsteps of this mosque will be lifted up from the mire of this magic and transitory samsara. I will carry them on my shoulders to the yonder bank of peace, tranquility and deliverance. These devotees are dearer to me than my own soul because they forget themselves in the recitation of my name and meditation of my form. Shyama - I carry their burdens. I have repeated this a million times to you".

Baba has not left the world of devotees although he has left his human body. He is beside, before, behind and accompanying his devout followers. All burdens are to be placed at his feet by the devotees and behave in the world with 'Shraddha' and 'Saburi'. In fact this is the summing up of what Baba did and said during his lifetime. Shyama is the first and foremost comrade devotee assured in straight and direct terms.

Satsang A Thursday Sai Message

Satsang A Thursday Sai Message
by - Mrs. Usha Ranganathan

A Thursday Sai Message
I had the privilege of having 'darshan' of Lord Sainath in the
Sai-temple at New York, when we went to the U.S.A.
in 1984. I came across an unforgettable incident on a Thursday
evening.

An elderly white-haired Gujarat-born Sai-brother was next to me.
After the worship, I noticed that this brother put a small slip of
paper, but no money in the 'Arathi' plate. Just then, a gust of
wind from the open window blew the paper on to the floor. Bending
over to retrieve it, I could not help but see these words printed
in large letters: "I will pray one hour a day".
I became curious and as such requested him to explain the message
he had put in the 'Arathi' plate. What he told me is quite moving.

His wife had died following a long and very expensive illness and
he lay been forced to sell his home to pay medical bills.
Now he lived with his married daughter. "I am too old to work and
I have no money" he said:
"but I can pray." Lord Sainath has assured, "If you spread your palms
with devotion before Me, I am with you day and night'. So He is taking
care of me".

His story brought to my mind Sai Baba's assurance - 'I always think
of him who remembers Me and reminded me once again that when we give
sincerely what we have, no gift brought before Lord Sainath is too
small or insignificant.

Satsang Sai Baba Sheds Tears for His Devotees

Satsang Sai Baba Sheds Tears for His Devotees

Sai Baba Sheds Tears for His Devotees

Swami Shuddhananda Brahmachari, Founder of the Lokenath Divine Mission, Calcutta, in a communication to the President of Sri Sai Spiritual Centre, Bangalore, mentions about a great Sai miracle - Sai's newly installed 'murthy' sheding tears during the 'pranaprathishta' recently.

The Swamiji, doing noble social work and a staunch devotee of Baba, writes: "It was indeed such a holy influence of Sai Devotees at the Calcutta Conference and our meeting was such a deep spiritual experience for one another due to the strong presence of the Living God Sri Sainath. I am happy you wrote such a loving letter and invited me to come over to Bangalore during the Anniversary of Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji Maharaj. Incidentally, the month of April, the time that you mentioned, does not provide me with a chance to be with you. But my spirit and my heart will always be with each one of you in all your efforts to offer your love and service to the divine feet of your Guru and the Eternal God.

Ramesh Mehta, a staunch devotee of Sai Nath, came to meet me yesterday and narrated to me about his visit to Gujarat, where about 120 km from Ahmedabad on the National Highway, a young Sai devotee has established a wonderful Sai Temple with Akhand Dhuni visited by hundreds and thousands every day. The miracle of miracles was on the auspicious occasion of the PranPratistha Utsav when thousands of devotees were chanting Sai Naama and the priests performed the rituals, suddenly the devotees saw tears of happiness rolling down the cheeks of Sainath. The stone melting into divine.

Swami Shuddhananda Brahmachari (Founder -Lokenath Divine Mission, Calcutta) express of happiness and Life. He brought along with him a copy of the photograph which clearly shows the tears on his cheeks. No Sai devotees in the world can hold their tears to see this Unique Lila of the Lord.

I could not wait to share this with you and all my Sai brothers and Sai Sisters this incredible Sai Lila. Yes, the truth is it is not only the devotees who cry for the Satguru but the Satguru also cries for the devotees. The pains and agonies of the surrendered children touches and the heart of Satguru melt. This Lila brings to light that God lives. He lives for all of us, in us, with us, around us, everywhere!

Sai Lila is eternal manifestation of the truth of God's Compassion for all the earthly beings for those who believe and those who do not. May we all wake up from our slumber of Maya and attachments to trifles of life and worship the Sai in all the beings in and around us. Love and share what ever Sai has given us. Give, Give and Give till we are empty and we are filled to the brim with SAI KRIPA. MAY LOVE FLOW OUT OF US AS FRAGRANCE FROM FLOWERS. That would be true celebrations of Radhakrishna Swamiji Maharaja's Anniversary and the right tribute to the dedicated apostle of Satguru Sainath.

With my love and Blessings of Baba Lokenath to you all my very dear sisters and brothers of Sai family. This is my humble sharing with you on the eve of the Utsav and the magazine's Completion of 10 years.

Jai Sai Nath Maharaj Ki Jai.
