Satsang Destiny-Baba's Distribution By Prahlad Hulyaikar

Destiny-Baba's Distribution
By Prahlad Hulyaikar
The Lord has no favorites; He loves all equally. The sun shines the same on
fire charcoal and on the diamond, but the diamond receives and reflects the
light. Most persons have “charcoal” mentalities; that is why they think that
God does not bless them. The love and blessings are there; man has only to
receive them.
- Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

It was the year 1980. The Dipavali Holidays had begun. Sri Jai Rao
(son-in-law of late Kishor Sahu) started visiting us frequently. He used to
attend Arathi session in the evening and then go home to Vasco. On one
Friday, during Aarati session, my wife saw some events taking place in the
space, close to Baba's Murthi. She saw that Sri Rao had fallen down from his
Motor Cycle and his head was sprayed with a white powder. On the same night
Baba appeared in her dream and said, "Your Rao has fallen down and broken
his hand. Do not worry much, it is predestined, but I am distributing the
quantum of suffering". My wife woke up suddenly and narrated the strange
dream to me. I told her that it was a dream and not to worry.

On Saturday Jai Rao came to Calangule in the morning. He talked to me on
different subjects. As it was noon, we sat for lunch. A boy named Bhanudas
(Noti) happened to come to take Baba's Darshan. He is my neighbor and is a
motor cycle pilot. My wife said to Rao, as she was serving "Noti is a real
devotee of Sai Baba. He always helps those who are in difficulty." Shree Jai
Rao exchanged greetings with him. Noti went home. The evening Aarati session
was over and then Rao also left.

As Rao was leaving my wife cautioned him and advised him to go slow. Rao
said, "Bai. I have been riding a motorcycle even in States. I am a seasoned
driver. Your fears are baseless." My wife said to him. "Rao, nobody can
escape destiny. Devotion to God mitigates the intensity less suffering". Rao
said jokingly, “I do not understand the philosophy the destiny. Nothing is
going to happen to me. You will see me tomorrow perfectly safe". Rao reached
Vasco safely that night. On Monday Rao came as usual. He had lunch with us.
He had his meal and then decided lo go to Vasco at 5 p.m. My wife insisted
he should stay and go to Vasco the next day. Rao said, he could not stay as
his wife was waiting for him. Rao left Calangule at 5.10 p.m. At 5.45 p.m.
he dashed against a cycle rider at a place called Agashi. The cycle rider
was carrying wheat flour. The cycle was badly damaged but the rider escaped
unhurt. Rao fell down on his face and the whole flour was sprayed all over
his body.

The lamp was damaged, his spectacles were broken to pieces and Rao got an
injury to his left hand. People gathered. Rao could not get up. Just at the
moment Noli was coming from Vasco to Calangute, He saw the crowd on the
road. He slopped his vehicle to find out who was injured. He could not
believe it - it was the same person Rao, who had exchanged greetings with
him in my house, two days back. Noli lifted Rao and took him to a clinic.
After first aid, he took him to Vasco in a private car.

Noli came to us and reported what had happened. At the same time when Rao
fell down at Agashi a big bee stung a fingered my wife and her hand started
swelling. She said tome "Rao has fallen down, Baba hesitated his
distribution. Let us accept it. One Mr.Lucio Miranda. (Rao's close friend)
was in Bombay when the incident took place. On the same day and at the same
time, some goondas attacked him near Strand Cinema and forcibly pulled off
his wrist-watch causing an injury to his left hand. On the next day we all
went to Vasco to see Rao. There he got a phone message from Lucio about his
encounter with goondas. Rao greeted us with one hand and said to my wife,
"Bai, put a little Udi on my hand".

This incident profoundly speaks that we are all inter-related. Destiny is
not absolute. We are brothers and sisters in Sai family. We all have to
share pleasure and pain without any compliant. This is Baba’s Spiritual
Communism, or calls it Socialism.

Satsang Sai Ka Aangan -World's first replica of Dwarkamayee Masjid after Shirdi

Satsang Sai Ka Aangan -World's first replica of Dwarkamayee Masjid after Shirdi

Sai Ka Aangan
Delhi is the heart of India ,they say and reflects the state of the Nation. Indeed it does,

for the growing urbanization ,fast paced life and concrete jungle that has come to

represent the obvious repercussions of modernity is beginning to tell its own tale.So as

one winds the way from Delhi and onward towards Sushant Lok Gurgaon, broad roads lined with

matchbox shaped buildings under construction can be seen throughout. The hustle - bustle of

life ,the glittering shops that justify consumerism ,all stare back at the visitor.
As one drives further down towards the end of Sushant Lok ,one suddenly sees an old relic

on the horizon. A piece of architecture from the 18th /19th century , a slanting brick roof

and an expanse, that leaves one dazed. This is the replica of Dwarkamai from Shirdi. With the

inspiration of revered Guruji Shri C.B Satpathy and Mrs Meera Satpathy a dream of Ms Kumkum

Bhatia of the Sai Prakash Spiritual and Charitable Trust, that is slowly taking shape since

Oct 2000,when the Bhumi Poojan was conducted.
Several auspicious events have already been held at the temple even when it had no concrete

roof and one could see the stars at night .On 18th March 2002 on Maha Shivratri day,Guruji

Shri C.B Satpathyji and just a handful of devotees congregated at the temple premises in

the morning. The temple had a large "aangan" still not paved or constructed ,giving it an

aesthetic look coupled with sylvan surroundings. The temple was decorated with lamps and

flowers and the place wore a festive look.Guruji, conducted Puja of Shri Sainath. There

after Mrs Mangla Apte ,who had come all the way from New Jersey USA,rendered beautiful

Marathi bhajans on Shri Sainath.
In the impending dusk, surrounded by devotees who sang Bhajans,Guruji Shri Satpathyji

presided over the Holi festival on 28th March 2002, Smt Meera Satpathy also graced this

evening.
Ram Navmi, which has a very special significance with Sainath and Shirdi as it was on this

day that Hindus and Muslims decided to celebrate the Urs and the Navami procession

together.Hence , Guruji Shri C. B Satpathyji decided to have the inaugration of this temple

on 21st April,2002 the Ram Navmi day.
On this day, amidst Navagraha Pooja, chanting of " Shri Sainathaya Namaha" and devotional

songs, two beautiful Moorties of Sainath were consecrated. One of them is made of white

marble which sits high on the stone. The other life size Moorti of Baba , in sitting

posture in Dwarkamayee, made of fibre glass communicates to the devotees.

Since the consecration ceremony, 4 Aartis are being conducted every morning at 9 a.m, 12

noon, evening at 6:30 p.m, and 9 pm at night. The Palki is taken in a procession every

Thursday.
It is also proposed to construct a replica of the Samadhi Mandir at Shirdi, Chavadi, and

Hanuman temple. Undoubtely, Sai Ka Aagan will be an oasis for those seeking spiritual

solace and moments of peace amidst the hustle bustle of Delhi.

About The Temple
The temple has stone walls, old lamps from the times in Shirdi and artifacts just like one

is used to seeing in Dwarakamai- the favourite residence of Shri Shirdi Sainath. No effort

has been spared to identify every detail and replicate so that those who wish to visit

Shirdi as often as possible can at least still fulfil their heart's desire by being in

these environs for a few moments.
The horse Shyam Karna, the tiger who died at Sai Baba's feet, the Chulla where he cooked

food, and the Chakki with which he is said to have ground the ailments of His devotees are

all replicated.

The life size statue of Baba ,in sitting posture made of fibre glass takes one back to the

times when Sainath would sit among His followers and lovingly distribute Udi and food

cooked with His own hands. The statue embodies and emits an aura of resplendence to all the

devotees and countless others.
The sacred embers of Lord Sai's Dhuni at Shirdi were brought from the sanctum sanctorium at

Sai temple at Chhatarpur.

Inauguration of Dwarkamai in Sushant Lok
The formal innauguration of Dwarkamayee Masjid was done by revered Guruji C.B Satpathy ji

on Sunday 21st April ,2002 which was the RamNavami day.
After the formal Pooja at dusk, Deepavli Utsav was celebrated by lighting candles all along

a 40 X 30 feet bust sketch of Shirdi Sai Nath.At the same time star studded sky was strewn

with glittering and colourful "Atishbazi".
This was followed by a procession of a palanquin decorated with Zari and flowers on red

satin. The Palki was carried by the devotees on their shoulders under a beautiful deep red

velvet umbrella decorated with an intricate Zardosi work. This procession was taken out

through the temple precincts led by Guruji. The Palki proceeded along with the sounds of

Nadyaswaram,Mridung, Jhanj,Dhol and Shankh. The chanting of "OM SAI SHRI SAI JAI JAI SAI"

made the environment auspicious, heavenly and intoxicating.
As the Palki swayed towards the Gurustahn with the tune of melodious combination of musical

notes through the unpaved grounds of the temple there was an intermittent shower of

fragrant rose petals from the sky.
Gurusthan, the place where Guruji had planted the neem sapling was lit up with Diyas, incense

sticks. The atmosphere became nostalgic with the fragrance of marigold and Loban. The framed

picture of Shri Sainath placed in the Palki was welcomed with chandan, kumkum, garland and

coconut, by Guruji.
The ceremony ended with Shej Aarti followed by Satguru Ka Langar which included Baba's

favourite Kacharya and Pooran Poli. All the devotees carried along with them the memory of

this auspicious day.

Dusshera Celebrations
Dusshera, which happens to be the Mahasamadhi Day of Shirdi Sai Baba, was clebrated on

Tuesday the 15th October 2002, at Dwarka Mai Temple in Sai Ka Aangan at Sushant Lok

Gurgaon. This was the first Mahasamadhi Day celebration here in this Aangan as this temple

was inaugurated on 21st April 2002, the Ram Navami Day.
After many years three things coincided, Dusshera 15th October and Tuesday. This was the

exact combination of the day Baba took his Mahasamadhi in the year 1918.
The day started with Havans, Pujas and MahaAbhishek of Baba followed by Langar. Bhajan

Sandhya was organised in the evening. The Chief Patron Guruji Shri C.B.satpathy and his

wife Mrs. Mera Satpathy blessed the occasion.

An experience of a devotee from USA - Thakur Mukund Raj
It was on Saturday December 7th 2002 morning that we had a chance to visit “Sai ka Angan”,

Baba’s abode on the outskirts of Delhi. Baba seems to have taken on after the popular

Indian mantra, “Chalo Delhi”, Delhi being capital of India. Once someone steps inside the

door, then the difference between Shirdi and this place dissolves. The layout, the

structure, interior and everything up to the nails in walls is so carefully done that one

can’t say the difference between Baba’s abode in Shirdi and here. Not only that, HE himself

sits next to the railing in the form of a life sized replica of HIS form as though saying

to his visitors; “When this masjid was not built, then also I was present here but no one

recognized me; hence I have come with the masjid, so that my devotees can recognize this

place also as my abode!”
It is not mere coincidence that at that moment a family arrived here just returning from

their trip to Shirdi and the lady’s statement bears truth when she exclaimed “It seems that

we did not even leave and we are still in Shirdi!” Such is the magic of this place. Not to

be carried away just by emotions and people’s reactions we decided to put our faith to

test. The first thought that came to the mind was that no one speaks Marathi here, so this

place can’t be Shirdi! What a cheap thought one may say! But pat came back the reply from

the master sitting in his court. All of a sudden the speakers started blazing the glory of

Shirdi and the Master in Marathi. Where from and who played the tape is not of importance

so much that the tape played in Marathi and it was glorifying the Lord as was done by the

villagers each morning in Shirdi. It started looking and feeling like the stories and

characters were rising from the pages of Sai Satcharita to enact and replay the scenes that

took place almost a century ago!
Not still satisfied, the eyes and the mind wanted more! The body stood in the “Sabha

Mandap” or courtyard outside the famous three steps of the Masjid and prayed to Baba.

“Baba, if this is you then I can’t climb the steps with out your permission. So, hey lord,

till you give express permission, we can’t come up!” Not even a minute passed after this

mental prayer was offered then came the result from the master. Some one walked up and

said, “Please step into the masjid and do “phanka” (fan the master)”. With tears in eyes,

hair standing up on its edges and ego crushed, the command was instantly accepted and

obeyed.
Then as if to satisfy more, the Master continued to play his game. All of a sudden from no

where long lines of children, mothers and fathers, started queuing in front of the masjid.

Upon inquiry, it was informed that on this day, there was a comprehensive health camp being

organized by “Sukarya” a non governmental organization for the benefit of poor and needy

followed by “annadan” or feeding the poor. Baba’s Handi and Radha krihsna Mayi’s kitchen

started playing in the very front of our eyes. Many ladies donning the roles of Laxmi and

Radha Krishna Mayi relived the days of Baba’s Shirdi, some cutting vegetables, some serving

the food, some cooking but all of them very immersed in telling tales of Baba’s influence

in their lives!
Came the time for Arathis, one could clearly hear the conch of the shell loud and clear for

miles, inviting and informing one and all of the time for Arathi. The masjid roared with

live singing of “Ghevooni Pancharathi..”. And our feeble minds wanted to test Baba’s

strength merely on the language of Marathi! “Shame on us! O’ Lord of Lords, please forgive

this sinner! How many times have you told and explained to us and how many times we have

not listened we know not, by you know it all! Hey Baba, have mercy. At this moment, we do

not even feel worthy of your grace but out of your kindness, please do forgive us for we

are not even worthy of that!”. The mind presently came back as the arathi was ending. Then

came the time for “langar” or partaking of food. Men and women got busy in serving the food

that was being prepared since morning. Seeing there were big lines, we thought of waiting

on the side. Stepping on the dirt, all of sudden the eyes fell on a long line of ants

walking very briskly in a great hurry. Curiosity arisen, we started to follow the long line

of ants very busily going and coming from somewhere. The trail led straight to the back of

the masjid, where there was a small hole and through which were seen ants carrying on their

back, a pinch of food for a human, but as big as a cart load no doubt for the little ant in

a line. The same food that was being served on the other side of the wall! Reminds of food

served from Baba’s daily begging rounds? By this time, the heart was begging the Master to

stop proving his point!
The jet lag started to set in, the body was very tired from the long journey and the back

was hurting immensely. The body was screaming to rest and lie down but the crowds were

still looming. How can one leave without taking Baba’s prasad and his permission. After

all, He has already shown his presence! The mind started its game once again. “Why not ask

Baba to cure this hurt and avoid bearing the pain? He is here isn’t it, then why can’t he

provide relief for it?” Not even a moment passed after the thought arose that the eyes fell

on a sign declaring that place to be where Baba stood leaning and distributing Udhi. Having

read the sign, we quickly walked there and standing against the wall started rubbing our

backs to the wall. In less than few minutes, all the pain in the back vanished and the body

felt well rested with out any signs of tiredness at all!
Thus the day continued with sharing and listening to Baba’s leelas and stories from many.

While taking his leave, a though arose to pen this day down for whose benefit and for whom

we know not! We are sure though that through this he will reach his intended audience. The

Dwarkamayee of North India, “Sai Ka Angan”, is located in Sushant Lok, Gurgaon, Haryana on

the outskirts of Delhi.
If one is in Delhi for a visit, one should surely check out this place of Baba that brings

Shirdi and its experience away from Shirdi.

Satsang The Ever-Vigilant SaiBaba By B. Sathyanarayana

Satsang The Ever-Vigilant SaiBaba By B. Sathyanarayana

The Ever-Vigilant SaiBaba
By B. Sathyanarayana

"One making proper use of existing circumstances does not have to await
success; success awaits such a person. If you perform each action as worship
of Sai Baba then you will not have to remember Sai Baba; Sai Baba Himself
will remember you."
- Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

It was during 1960-61. I was working as an Assistant Engineer, Western
Railway at Botad, about 100 miles from Ahmadabad. A mail train met with an
accident at a Railway Station - 'Bhimnath' in my jurisdiction, resulting in
the loss of lives. I had to rush to the site of accident to restore the
railway line, to attend to the transshipment of hundreds of stranded
passengers, to arrange medical aid, to face interrogation by the local
police and press reporters, and answering nerve breaking queries of my
superiors. All these happened from 7 pm and the entire night. Though I was
sure, that I was not at fault, still people around me including some of the
railway officials, were talking that I would be suspended the following day
by the Chief Engineer, coming from Bombay, and further disciplinary action
would be taken. There was none to support me and at least to sympathize with
me. I was thinking of Sai Baba and mentally asking him: “Baba, what wrong
have I done? Why this torture”?

Thus praying, I was doing my duty of arranging transshipment of stranded
passengers at dead of night from the site of accident to the relief train
which was at a distance of nearly one kilometer. At about 1 a.m., one old
gentlemen about 6 ft. tall, well built, wearing a white long, soiled jubba
and a scarf with a knot tied round his head and carrying a long stick and a
bag hanging from his shoulder came slowly towards me. He spoke to me in
Hindi thus: "What a big accident? How to go?" I did not respond to him, as
my mind was totally pre-occupied. He passed a few steps, almost brushing my
shoulder. Then somehow I asked him to wait and called one of assistants who
was having a lantern and told him to escort this old gentleman carefully to
the other train. On hearing this, this old man came back to me and patted my
shoulders and said "Pikhir math karo, sab teek ho jayega” (Don't worry,
everything will be alright). So saying he stared at me for a few seconds and
left. Hardly few more seconds must have passed when I shouted: "Baba, where
are you" and ran like a mad man in search of him. But I could not find him
anywhere.

I am quite sure that he was none other than Lord Sainath and I got solace.
Next day the Chief Engineer came from Bombay and told me ‘not to worry’ and
handled the rest of the work. This in spite of other officials insisting
that I be suspended. Thereafter, other routine enquiry was conducted and I
was appreciated in my work. The savior is none but all merciful Sai BABA.

The mouth of man is a Temple of the Lord. Alas! We desecrate it by indulging
the tongue in useless talk and speaking ill of others. "O my soul! Sing the
praises of the Lord, day and night, so that not a single harsh or negative
word leaves the lips!"

Om Shree Ganeshaya Namah!
Om Sai Ram!
Dear Shirdi Sai Baba Devotees,
With the advent of modern communication, the world is becoming small, and many Sai devotees

in various professions travel around the world. Being away from their family and friends,

going to a Sai temple makes a lot of Sai bhakts feel closer to home and it also helps them

stay connected to their spiritual side. But the only problem is that a lot of devotees

wished, that if they only knew where the nearest temple or satsang was where they could

visit and pray to our Shri Sadguru Sainath. There may be a argument that Sai is present in

our hearts and is everywhere, but for some, - going to a temple or a satsang makes a lot of

difference since this gives them moral support in a foreign country..
To bridge this gap and to help Sai devotees, we have decided to build up a database of Sai

Temples, Sai Satsangs, Sai Groups , Sai websites etc which are around the world.. I ,

personally know of a place in Bellevue ,WA [USA] -where a few microsoft employees have

gathered and rented a small appartment where they all meet and do Sai bhajans and also do

the aartis every day. I am sure there are more places like those everywhere around the

world but the only problem is that very few sai bhakts are aware of it.. So I , hereby

request all Sai devotees to send me addresses of Sai temples or small Sai groups where

satsangs are held in the city that you live in -- including cities in India , Africa, UAE,

USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Rome, Paris,London , Thailand , Korea, China ,Hongkong, Singapore

etc etc --Just anywhere around the world..We will try to upload it in various Websites and

forward it to various groups to spread the word, so that devotees can visit the sites and

gather the relevant information and thereby be able to go to a Sai temple where ever they

are and get the bliss of Sai darshan .. Kindly send the following information at

message to other Sai bhakts :::

The Lord of all Lords

"It is nothing but to invite pain and suffering, if you make your defective
intellect your guide for your life in the world. Victory ties in giving" the
reins of your mind to Sai Baba, and then, be free from any danger
whatsoever. He will surely take your life safely away with success from the
battlefield of this world. He is a renowned expert in driving (he chariots
of life.)
- Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

I participated in the Guru Poornima celebrations at Sai Spiritual Centre,
Bangalore on the 7th July 1990. We had 'Satsang' with several Guru-bandhus
like Sri Bhaskara Rao, Sri Seshadri and others. Sai Baba prompted me to
propose an additional one-hour program of daily chanting of 'Om Sai Sri Sai
Jaya Jaya Sai' from 5 pm to 6 pm. everyone agreed and this divine program
commenced from the 8th July 1990 onwards.

I stay in 'Doopanahally' area far away from Thyagarajanagar. However Sai
Baba enabled me to daily travel in a city bus from Doopanahally and am
present at 5 pm for the 'Nama Japam'. There was no problem for three days on
8th, 9th and 10th July 1990. However on the 11th July '90, I left my house
at 3-30 pm and came to the bus stop. Someone told me that the direct bus
from Doopanahally to NR Colony is cancelled and advised me to try
alternative bus service to reach Sai Mandir. Accordingly I got into a bus
and got down at down at Richmond Circle bus stop by about 4-10 pm. A bus
from Shivaji Nagar side came and was fully crowded. In my enthusiasm to be
on time at the Mandir, I tried to board the crowded bus. 'No -1, could not'
and I was pushed aside. I fell down on the ground and by Sai-grace nothing
happened.

As I got up, a school boy came to me and handed over to me a two-rupee note
saying that it fell down from my pocket when I was pushed aside. I was
astonished as I had taken a ten-rupee note from home and after purchasing a
ticket for one-rupee the balance amount of nine rupees was intact in my
purse. Then I remembered Baba's offering of two-pice 'Dakshina' to his Guru.
In the form of the school-boy Sai Baba was warning me of 'faith' and
'patience' and not to do things in haste. The boy shoved the two-rupee note
in my hand and mysteriously vanished in the crowd at the bus stop.

True to the warning given by Sai Baba, I got into another bus which was
quite empty and traveled comfortably to the Mandir. My eyes were full of
tears of gratitude to Sai Maharaj for saving me from a calamity.

Life after Death
All questions at Sai Spiritual Centre one day were about 'Life after Death'.
Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji only smiled and did not give a simple answer. To
his devotees who requested to know the reason for his evasiveness, Swamiji
later said: 'Have you observed that it is precisely those who do not know
what to do with this life who want another that will last forever?" "But is
there life after death or is there not?" persisted a devotee. "Is there life
before death? - that is the question" said the Swamiji enigmatically.

Satsang His Living Presence

Satsang His Living Presence

His Living Presence
By S. Natarajan

"He who has realized the pure joy derived from renunciation never cares even
to look at worldly enjoyments. The temptation of enjoyment, no doubt, appear
before him, assuming various charming forms, in order to attract him towards
them; but he rejects them all, like a person in possession of a jewel,
throwing away worthless pieces of glass and pebbles of various beautiful
colors."
- Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

The more we realise our Sadguru Sai Baba and think about our Radhakrishna
Swamiji, our faith in him is firmed up that Swamiji's grace and blessings
are nothing but Sai Baba's actions.

I recall an occasion in 1980 when our Swamiji's birthday was celebrated from
4th May 1980 to 6th May 1980 in our residence. Swamiji had attained
'Mahasamadhi' earlier in that year. We had Vishnu Sahasranama Parayan and
later 'archana' to Swamiji. After the puja, 'prasad' was offered to all. A
devotee-couple sat in the sacred place where our Swamiji had his
'Mahaprasad' for the last time in our house in 1978. The significance of
this sacred spot was mentioned to the devotee-couple. They were very happy
about it.

Ladies started serving the dishes, and I was chanting Vishnu Sahasra Namam
facing Swamiji's picture and the guests. As the 'prasad' was about to be
concluded, the devotee-couple sitting in the sacred spot where Swamiji had
his 'prasad' started exclaiming: "See, Swamiji is here - Swamiji is here".
Everyone could not for a moment realise what was happening. Then, we saw a
bunch of flowers floating in the hall and coming down with a whizzing sound.
It settled down a nearby window where our Swamiji had sat for the last
occasion. The flowers were distributed as 'prasad' to the devotees. We
continue to experience Swamiji's living presence in our life. His spiritual
force guides and protects us in every thing we do.
-By K.N. Narayanswamy

"The human life is full of funny jokes. One complains of the lack of
opportunities but do you know how many times 'Enlightenment' comes and
knocks at your door but returns disappointed finding you in the sleep of
unawareness? Understand this and rise above these funny jokes of life."
- Radhakrishna Swamiji

It was sometimes during April-May '90 around 9.00 A.M. my boss in the office
called me and said: "There was a phone call just now from our Mani who seems
to be awfully upset that his little son has put a groundnut
(Cheenabadam/Mungfalli) into his nose and it is stuck up inside neither
coming out nor going down chocking his nose. Please rush, get a vehicle from
our garage and take the baby to the nearest doctor for removing the
groundnut from his nose. Please go and waste no time." I left immediately.

When I met the parents they were very much upset and worried. We went to the
local clinic and though the doctor tried his best to remove the seed from
the baby's nose he could not pull it out smoothly without causing any injury
for want of proper surgical instrument and he suggested us to rush to an
E.N.T. Specialist. We proceeded to Rourkela where there is a big nursing
home with specialists but were told that the ENT specialist had left the
hospital for lunch. We rushed to his residence. Meanwhile, when we were
traveling, I remembered BABA's Holy Udhi in my purse which I always keep. I
took some Udhi, applied on the baby's forehead and gave a little in his
mouth and consoled and assured the parents that they need not worry at this
and Baba will take care of their baby. When we reached the ENT specialist's
residence he had just finished his lunch. He immediately attended to the
baby and believe it or not, within seconds he pulled out the groundnut seed
from the baby's nose without causing the slightest pain or injury. The
doctor told me it was all God's grace we have reached in time and brought
the baby to him! He showed us the big half portion of the groundnut which
was stuck up in the nose of the baby.

The parents were happy at the outcome. They said it is SAILEELA. They
promised me that certainly they would attend Sai Baba Puja on a Thursday
with their offerings to Sai Baba. On the last occasion when I met him he
told me the baby suffered from some minor injuries on 2/3 occasions by
falling and hitting on hard objects and he remembered their vow and he would
certainly come on 30-8-1990 (Thursday). I told him they are most welcome to
Sai-Home any time for Divine Darshan of Sai Maharaj and their prayers. He
joined us in our ceremonies on 30-8-90 with great devotion to show his
gratitude to Shirdi Nath Sai Baba in our Sai-Home. How Baba pulls His
devotees towards Him in His own style. "Even if you discard Me, I drag you
(my devotee) towards me and be ever with you, once you have taken refuge in
me and I rush to your rescue wherever you may be" - SAI BABA

The Substance
Sage Vyasa is reputed to have compiled the four Vedas, and composed the
eighteen Puranas and some other works. One day a student approached him and
put the question:-
"Revered Master, you have written so much. Where is the time to read it?
Can't you tell me the substance of your entire writings?"
Quick came the following reply from the profound sage: "Yes, my son, half a
sloka will do: To help others is virtue or religion; to hurt others is sin.

Sri Sai Amrit Vani - 31st May 2007

Sri Sai Amrit Vani

DEVOTEES MAY FORWARD THIS LETTER TO OTHER DEVOTEES.
31st May 2007
Jai Sai Ram
Strange are the ways of Baba to show HIS Leelas, as it appears to us. Today Chapter 39 of Sai Satcharitra was read in the Pooja. It is the chapter in which knowledge of Sanskrit of Baba has been shown. Which is also the current topic of the Serial of Baba on Star TV. When Mrs Gupta was reading the Sai Satcharitra her hands were filled with Udi , then the page was sprinkled with so much Udi that Mrs Gupta had to wipe it out to read it. Then Udi was all over her blouse and Saree in addition to the large quantity in her laps.
There was heavy rush of devotees this Thursday also and no space was left unoccupied in the main hall and the adjacent room. Few devotees had to sit on the mat in the varanda and two devotees even had to remain outside with their small kids. I have to rush to the ‘Halwai’ to bring more bhog for distribution , after the Pooja.\
Following devotees participated in absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani, Pooja, prayers and Prayan of Sri Sai Satcharitra by reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places on 24th May 2007. The list is sorted as per their email ids. However Mrs. Gupta prayed for all the devotees. In this list only those devotees are included, who themselves recited or read Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places. The names of the devotees “for prayer”, are prayed for, but not included in the list. Kindly mention clearly, against each devotee’s name that he/she will recite or read or listen to Sri Sai Amrit Vani, or only for prayers. Please also give the name of the place.
Few letters without the name of the place have been left out.
This Thursday the 31st May we enjoyed the following Leelas.
1. Udi started appearing and oozing from the two photos on the wall from Monday itself, Hindi words ‘RAM’ ‘SHAM’ and ‘OM’, and figure of Trishool were formed with Udi on one photo. On Tuesday Udi started oozing from the main photo in the mandir. ‘RAM’ ‘SHAM’ and ‘OM’ along with other figures were also formed on the photo. From Statue, Udi started oozing from Wednesday.
2. There was lot of Water from the Charans this week also. It even started in the early hours of the morning. A thali was placed below the Charans in the night itself. Thali was emptied several times. The taste of water was similar to gulab jal and kewara mix. After Sai Amrit Vani, this water was given to the devotees and again the Thali was filled with water. Devotees bring bottles to take the water home.
3. Lap of Mrs. Gupta was filled with Udi during the prayers. Udi was there between the falls of the Sari and all over the sari, blouse and the Sai Satcharitra, which she was reading.
4. Udi also appeared on many other devotees and also in the books of Sri Sai Amrit Vani.
5. On Thursday as soon as Bhog was offered, it was duly accepted by Baba and after the Sri Sai Amrit Vani we noticed that the box, which was placed before HIM was partially eaten and partially remained pieces of items in the box. Part of Bhog was on the lips of many photos and statue of Baba. These parts of the remains in the box were given to the devotees who offered that item of bhog to Baba. Partly eaten remains were having some figures on them.
6. Presence of Baba during the recitation of Sai Amrit Vani, Prayer and Prayan of Sri Satcharitra was very strong. Many devotees felt HIS presence in different ways and few expressed their feelings. Baba was seen in the white dress near the mandir by few devotees.
7. All the boxes of Bhog which were kept on the table were blessed with Udi,
8. The Charnamrit, the water in which Baba took the bath in the morning was also sweet as if some honey has been mixed into it.
9. Many documents and photos of devotees kept in the mandir room, were blessed with lots of Udi as soon as they were placed before Baba.
Jai Sai Ram
Sri Sai Amrit Vani started at 11:04 AM. Noon Aartee started at 12:00 Hrs. followed by brief Meditation and the prayer, Prayan of Chapter 39 from Sai Satcharitra. Mrs. Gupta offered prayers and thanks to Baba. Finally distribution of Prasad, Udi and the water from the Charans. Devotees narrated their experiences and the benefits they are have with Baba’s Blessings.

Satsang Hail the Savior

Satsang Hail the Savior

Hail the Savior
By R. Radhakrishnan

"I shall draw out my devotees from the jaws of death" is Sai Baba's DICTUM.
How many times He has saved me from the jaws of death. I am writing this
article today on account of, His grace and blessings. Otherwise, I would
have been buried fathoms deep long, long ago and many births (janmas)
according to "Law of Karma" would have taken place. It is really the
wonderful leelas of Baba which are inconceivable, inscrutable and beyond our
mind and intellect. He knows or anticipates and forestalls the calamities of
His devotees and wards them off in time. His debts (obligations) will never
be repaid by us in this birth as well as in many future births. We can at
best chant His Taraka Mantra", "OM SAI, SRI SAI, JAYA JAYA SAI" day and
night which is simple, easy, powerful and a sadhana for the
aspirants/devotees to attain 'Sai Joy' and 'Sai Bliss'.

Baba assured His devotees as under:
"If you simply say Sai, Sai, I will take you over the Seven Seas." In this
connection, it is to be remembered, when Goddess Parvathi asked Siva which
is the most powerful Name (among the thousand names in Vishnu Sahasranama)
to be meditated upon for one to achieve salvation Siva recommended Sri
RAMA'S to be always chanted or meditated upon with love and devotion
(Shradda and Bhakti) to attain salvation. Our Baba also advised Mrs.
Khaparde (wife of Dada Saheb Khaparde of Amrotr) to always chant" 'Raja Ram,
Raja Ram," Our Baba is no other than Shri Ram. He is 'Sairam'.

Now I wish to relate here a recent incident (experience) showing how our
kind Mother takes care of Her children (more than a mother) and averts the
calamities/dangers that were to befall them in life. On 23-1-90 at about 5
a.m., Baba appearing as a well dressed Doctor woke me up, examined me
thoroughly and told me "Your heart is strong. There is no danger to your
life. You will survive". Saying so, He disappeared. (The dream vision was so
realistic - it was not a dream but actual vision). On that day, I with my
wife had been to Sai Spiritual Centre, Bangalore, to participate in the
"Punya Thithi of H.H. Saipadananda Radhakrishna Swamiji and received His
blessings. We left on the same night for Erachakulam (a modern village 30
miles from the famous (Nagarcoil) via Madras to attend a marriage on
29-1-90. On 28-1-90 itself, perhaps due to change of climate or some other
reasons, I started coughing continuously for two or three hours with the
result, breathing trouble prevented me from getting sleep and also taking
any food.

RESCUED
The next day, I was rushed to Raman Nursing Home at Nagarcoil where I was
treated, but was unable to lie down on the cot and sleep as the breathing
was hard. I was simply sitting on a chair and remembering 'Baba's Name'
shedding tears due to unbearable mental agony. At about 10p.m. or so, I
could hardly breathe and thought that my end was nearing. In a flash Baba
appeared before me with "Abhaya Hasta" (protecting hand) blessed and
disappeared. From that moment my breathing trouble began to abate and after
half an hour or so, it became normal and I could breathe easily and
naturally.

The next day (30-1-90), I was discharged from the nursing home and every one
of my relations was surprised to see me hale hearty and in normal health.
We left Nagarcoil on 20-2-90 for Bangalore and participated in the "Akhanda
Sai Nama Japam" from 6p.m. to 6 a.m. for 12 hrs on the auspicious day of
"Maha Sivarathri" on 23-2-90 at Benson Town, Bangalore. Before leaving
Bangalore, I promised Sai Sister Mrs. C. Sharadamma and Sai Brother Sri
Ananthakrishna, that I would be back from Nagarcoil and join them in the
"Sai Nama Japam" on 23-2-90 arranged in Mrs. Sharadamma's home. It was
really Baba who enabled me to keep up the promise by saving me on 29-1-90.

I request all the Sai bandhus to pin complete 'Faith' in Lord Sai and
surrender to Him with tan, man and dhan so that we can cross over the sea of
mundane Existence, easily and smoothly and attain Eternal Bliss.

inclusion of names in the prayers that it is difficult
to prepare a list every week. However all the devotees
are prayed for. A list is prepared of only those
devotees who says that they will recite or read or
listen to Sri Sai Amrit Vani. If you are reciting Sri
Sai Amrit Vani, please give the names in the summary
form after the main letter, enabling me to cut and
paste. Letters should reach by Wednesday evening
(Indian Time).

Group recitation of Sri Sai
Amrit Vani on 3rd May 2007 will be held at Chandigarh

interested in attending it in person may contact on
Chandigarh phone no. 0172-3244900 after 30th April. No

This Thursday was again normal and usual with HIS
usual Leelas except that Udi from the Statue also
started oozing from Tuesday. Bhog from the vendor
(Halwai) arrived at 8:30 AM and was kept temporarily
at the dinning table. When Mrs. Gupta came from the
bathroom after taking bath at 8:35, Udi was already
there on all the boxes of Bhog. She started her Pooja
after placing the boxes on the table before Baba. Baba
had the Bhog even before the pooja and and even before
it was offered to HIM . It seems Baba does not believe
in formalities and HIS presence in the house at that
time also. Pooja should be from the heart and not just
show off. HE is everywhere and HE should be remembered
all the time. Jai Sai Ram.

Satsang Saipadananda - The Ever Vigilant Parent

Satsang Saipadananda - The Ever Vigilant Parent

Saipadananda - The Ever Vigilant Parent
By a Doctor devotee of Swamiji who wishes to remain anonymous.

It was 11 a.m. on the 18th March 1989. I was just anticipating a happy
blissful evening at Sai Spiritual Centre as the 'Akhanda Sai Nama Saptaham'
was going on. Just then a patient entered who had cracks in feet and sought
a prescription for an ointment to heal these fissures of feet, which is
quite common. As I was writing the prescription, Saipadananda Radhakrishna
Swamiji talked to me from the small desk photograph I had kept on my table:
"Have you seen Krishna Murthy's feet". The message came twice. Immediately I
got up from my seat to get one small jar of the ointment used in cracked
feet.

Devotees who regularly visit the Thyagarajanagar shrine of Sai Baba are
familiar with Shri D. Krishna Murthy, the most intimate devotee of Sri
Radhakrishna Swamiji and is more or less Swamiji's 'foster son'. When I met
Shri Krishna Murthy and handed him the jar of ointment, tears flowed from
his eyes and told me "Doctor, my feet gave me so much trouble yesterday that
I could hardly walk. I prayed to Swamiji who has taken care much more than a
true father to his infant son".

Shri Krishna Murthy gave me Baba's prasad and then listened to my story. For
a minute he was flabbergasted. He could only say : ''As Sai Baba is blessing
from his tomb at Shirdi, Radhakrishna Swamiji is taking care of us in every
moment of our life".

Sri Swamiji is our Guru and it is needless to say that Guru is greater than
God. Pranams to Swamiji and Sai Baba.

Satsang Children: Love ye one another By H. H. Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

Satsang Children: Love ye one another By H. H. Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji

Children: Love ye one another
By H. H. Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji
(H. H. Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji was the chief guest at the gathering of
Contributors to SAI LEELA magazine held on the 28th and 29th January 1979,
held at Shirdi. Dr. S. D. Parchure, an ardent devotee of Swamiji was then
the Executive Editor of Sai Leela magazine and has recorded Swamiji's speech
for posterity. We are presenting this inspiring speech to our readers on the
eve of Swamiji's Tenth Aradhana - EDITOR)

I thank the Shirdi Samsthan for having given me an opportunity to partake in
this illustrious gathering of the contributors to SAI LEELA magazine. It is
indeed a great day for me to meet all sincere devotees on this holy soil of
Shirdi.

Lord Krishna gave an assurance in the 'Bhagavad-Gita' that He will be taking
'avatar' whenever there is some danger to religion. We find that Lord
Krishna is fulfilling his promise by appearing on this earth in the form of
saints. Sai Baba is such an 'avatar' which has tried for the uplift of all
who came into his contact. The life of Sai Baba is like the fragrant
'agarbathi' which burns away all the time and which ultimately disappears,
but when it is burning it continues to give over fragrance all the time. Sai
Baba's greatness as a 'Guru' is beyond our expression.

Sai Baba fulfilled the desires of everyone. We call him as our father,
mother, friend and we offer all our learning and wealth to him. Sometimes a
doubt arises in our mind as to how Sai Baba can act as a mother. I will give
you an example.

One lady got a child and she wanted that her child should be fed on her
milk, but to her dismay her breasts were dry. She tried all remedies but
they were not of any avail. The lady conceived again and when she was in her
8th month of pregnancy she came to me along with her husband, and requested
me to pray to Sai Baba to give milk to her second child. I assured her that
this time she will get milk in the breasts after her delivery, by the grace
of Sai Baba. I gave her Udhi and asked her to pray to Sai Baba with full
devotion. The lady went away and in course of time gave birth to a child.
Her husband came to me saying that her breasts were dry totally and that he
was afraid that his second child also may not get mother's milk. I asked the
husband to go and pray to Sai Baba after giving him Udhi and directing him
to apply it to the lady's breasts. After the gentleman had gone I prayed to
Sai Baba to fulfill the wishes of the lady and lo, on the third day, this
mother could feed her baby as the breasts were full of milk. This is one
example wherein Sai Baba acted as a mother, because this is one thing which
only a mother can really understand.

Missing Boy Returns
Once, a gentleman came to me and informed that his son had run away and his
whereabouts were not known for 2-3 days. I told him to pray to Sai Baba and
by His grace, his son would return. On the fifth day he got a telegram from
Calcutta that his son was safe and he would reach Madras in a day or two.
After the boy returned to Madras, he was brought to me by his father. When I
enquired with the boy about the reason for his running away, he told me that
his parents were angry with him and therefore he ran away from the house.
The boy said that when he was at Calcutta, Sai Baba appeared in his dream
and told him to go to the station. There he met a person who enquired about
him and gave a telegram to Madras and arranged to send the boy back to
Madras. On further enquiries with the boy, he said that Sai Baba was seen by
him with the tin-pot in his hand as he was proceeding to beg for alms.

Here again, we find the motherly behavior of Sai Baba. His ways are unique
and inimitable. When we come to Shirdi, we forget all our differences and
become one. If our entire nation brings into practice the teachings of Sai
Baba, national unity is not a far off possibility.

The desires of various people are fulfilled in various ways by Sai Baba.
Somebody needing money for his daughter's marriage is given money while
those needing service get the service by the grace of Sai Baba.

In order to meet Sai Baba, you have to enter Dwarakamayi after crossing
three steps. What are these three steps you have to cross in order to be
successful in life? Out of the six enemies of man, lust, anger and greed are
the foremost, which you have to conquer before you are blessed by Sai Baba.
The three 'Gunas' - Satva, Rajas, and Tamas are also indicated by these
three steps and the 'prakriti' and 'purush' are attached to each other by
the Gunas.

I see the image of Sai Baba on the face of everyone sitting here. Sai Baba
has assured us that as soon as we call Him, He would rush to our help. So
keep faith in Him and invoke His favor. He never fails His devotees.

I wish happiness to everybody. Any sort of sorrow let nobody suffer from.

Satsang Thought for the day

Satsang Thought for the day

Submitted by "sreeraj guruvayoor"

Living in the present:

A Sadhak (student) once asked his teacher, "Master, Why can't I remain peaceful, in spite of doing so many spiritual sadhanas (practices). Why can't I be devoid of suffering in spite of reading so many spiritual books and listening to religious discourses? Is enlightenment possible for such as I?"
Sri Bhagavan says, "To be liberated from suffering, you must first understand what suffering is. Suffering is nothing but the continuous thought processing that happens in the mind over an event or incident of the past. Suffering is nothing but the ‘carry over' of the past events of our life."
There are two kinds of people who have walked on these sands, enlightened and unenlightened. Enlightened ones are those who are 'ordinary' and unenlightened are those who are 'extraordinary' (extra suffering). An enlightened one does not suffer because he is constantly living in the present - experiencing every bit of what life is offering him. But for those who are unenlightened, life itself is reduced to suffering.
To be aware is to be enlightened.
The whole purpose of life is to live life moment to moment.
If one observes the thought process in oneself, it can be easily discovered that this tendency of the mind to 'carry over', of not living life in the present, is the root of all suffering.
For example, there were two friends who were very close right from their childhood. Out of sheer misunderstanding, they landed in a bitter quarrel and they broke up. The fight by itself is nothing but mere ‘calling names'. But it doesn't end there, the event continues to plague the mind, be it in the kitchen, the office, watching TV, or even at a party! It follows you… It continues to live in your mind and emotions.
Suffering arises only when your mind indulges in unnecessary thoughts about living in past or the future, without living in the present. This constant commentary or dialogue in the mind is the cause for all suffering, where even after an event has ended it is continued within where we still talk to the other person who has hurt us.
An enlightened person experiences everything, which makes his life rich, eternal and ever fresh. But for the unenlightened, life is mechanical and repetitive, hence boring. One who is enlightened enjoys the ice cream whereas one who is unenlightened does not enjoy the ice cream because he would be busy with the question – Who made the ice cream? Which factory did it come from? Which cow's milk? What grass did the cow eat? One who is truly living will never question the purpose of life. Why would he. He is only experiencing.

To be aware is to be enlightened.
The whole purpose of life is to live life moment to moment.

Satsang can any one guide on this

Satsang can any one guide on this

""King Janaka used to gather many rishis in his palace and take delight
in discussing with them about spiritual problems; he was a great adept at
sadhana and he attained the highest stage of samadhi through Raja yoga.
One day, while in the midst of the court, with the Queen and the maids,
even while he was conversing with them, he fell asleep. He had a dream. He
dreamt that he was deprived of his kingdom, that he was roaming half-mad,
hungry and deserted in the jungle, begging for food from whoever he met, that he
came upon some men washing dishes and vessels after a feast which they had
shared, that he ran towards them seeking some crumbs, that they gave him
some little quantity of rice scraped from the vessels, that he was about
to put it into his mouth when a big bird flew in and swooped it out of his
grasp; so, he yelled in pain and grief, and the Queen heard it and she
woke him up.
Of course, when he woke, he knew he was the King. He remembered that a
second previously, he was a beggar. He questioned within himself, which is
real, this or that? To every one who inquired what the matter was, he put
the same question. "Am I a king or a beggar?" The queen and others were
frightened at this behaviour; they sent for the ministers and with them
came, Ashtavakra, the preceptor. He discovered the situation as soon as he
saw the King; so, to the question that the King put him, he answered,
"Raja!
This is unreal; that is unreal; you, who experienced this as well as that,
you alone are real."
The waking stage is real until the sleeping stage; the sleeping stage is
real, until the waking stage. But, both are unreal, because one cancels
the other.""

I just read this story and could understand everything except that one
question keeps bothering me....
How can we explain the continuity of the waking state and the
discontinuity of the dream state... if both are as unreal as the other,
then how is it that life is continuous when we wake up every morning...
also in the dream state we do not continue our dream we had the previous
night.... please help me understand this..

*LOVE,*
*KARTIK IYER*

Satsang can any one guide on this

Satsang can any one guide on this

Om Sai Ram
Dear Kartikiyer ji,
Well, there are two different ways that this could be explained--
The first one is that we all agree that we see dreams in the night while we are sleeping but we also agree that we all do not remember everything that we see when we wake up in the morning and thus are able to continue with our daily so called 'real lives' that we beleive it to be without having any confusions. Since we just sometimes remember bits and pieces of one dream that was over whelming to us, the fact is that it can not make us rule out the possibility of whether indeed we do have a continuity of our dreams in our sleeping state just like our lives continue normally when we wake up in the morning. So the fact remains, everything is maya- what we experience during our waking state and what we see during our sleeping state.Nothing is real-its all maya. The only thing that is real is ur soul which is waiting for you to realize that all what u see around you is maya and to come out of it and only then u will be able to see something that is actually real and that is the great power -- the bright light---God ,who created this universe and something to fascinate all of us which is nothing but MAYA...
Another logical explaination could also be this --
We all know that what ever we see in our dreams during the sleeping state is representing our so called real lives. The feelings and emotions that for some reason remain supressed in our normal day to day life -are experienced in our sleeping state. King Janaka dreampt that he was a beggar and was alone in a jungle, he had lost his mind and was hungry for food ---- Well, this could be interpreted as his hunger for spiritual knowledge .In the path of spiritual knowledge , are'nt we all alone loosing our minds with what is right and what is wrong - what is real and what is unreal--- our desires pull us one way and temptations attract us making us do things which only a mad person can do .. If u go to think of it -we all are in a jungle-it is just that we are trying to save ourselves not from tigers ,lions and other wild animals instead we are all trying to be away from the wild beast which actually are nothing but bad temptations like greed ,ego ,selfishness ,pride , cheating and the list goes on and on.. King Janaka dreampt that he saw some men washing dishes and vessels after a feast which they shared and that he ran towards them seeking some crumbs, some little quantity of rice scraped from the vessels ,that he was about to eat but a bird swooped it out of his grasp and so he was left hungry ,angry and in pain--- this could be interpreted as:: the men whom he met who were washing dishes after a feast were the learned men in his court whom he gained spiritual knowledge from and who had the pleasure of being with the king and getting a royal treatment. The learned men did share a little knowledge with the king which were the crumbs but maya swooped it all when the king went to sleep. The pain and grief of the king were nothing but his disappointments in the path of gaining spiritual knowledge.
In the end , it is just God what is real and the rest is all a dream.A dream that sometimes we see when we are sleeping and sometimes we see when we are awake.
Allaah Maalik!

Satsang Swamiji Welcomes Us

Satsang Swamiji Welcomes Us

Swamiji Welcomes Us
By Hemendra Nath Bannerjee
I live in Calcutta and have been a devotee of Sai Baba for almost two
decades. Every Sai Bandhu I have come across has narrated the greatness of
H.H. Saipadananda Radhakrishna Swamiji. Unfortunately I could never have his
'darshan' when he was amidst us in flesh and blood. But the ever -living
Swamiji made me feel his presence the moment we entered the Sai Spiritual
Centre on February 26th, 1989.

As we steped into the 'Dwarakamayi' of the Mandir, the life size portrait of
Swamiji greeted us. Then the 'Abhisheka' started and we had the rare
privilege of performing Abhisheka to Baba's murthy as well as Swamiji.
Swamiji took me and my wife Lathika into his fold and blessed us with his
ever glowing eyes.

There was a good crowd and I was introduced to several of the devotees
present there. They all talked to me of the greatness of Sai Baba and as to
how Swamiji blessed all by asking them to chant 'Vishnu Sahasranama'.
Instantly I had an urge to perform 'Vishnu Sahasranamarchana' worshipping
Sai Baba with 1000 flowers by chanting Vishnu's thousand names.

I prayed to Swamiji and requested him to fulfill my wish. But I was shy to
ask the priest to help me as this was my maiden visit. But where is the end
to Swamiji's compassion? The priest beckoned one of the devotees to come
forward and perform 'Archana'. That devotee told him that he has to attend a
meeting. So immediately the priest beckoned me and my wife and asked us as
to whether we could do this 'Archana'. My heart was thrilled to the core.

As soon as we finished the 'archana', I sought for a book of 'Vishnu
Sahasranamam' in Devnagari script, Lo, even this was forthcoming. The office
Manager very kindly gifted me a copy of this book in Devnagari script. I
read this daily as an affectionate gift from Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji. There
was a meeting going on to discuss about holding 'Akhanda Sai Nama Japam' for
one week. They invited me to participate in it and offer my views. I only
wished I could participate in this Saptaha. My visit to Sai Mandir at
Bangalore is memorable.

GLASS OF MILK

GLASS OF MILK

One day, a poor boy who was selling goods from door to door to pay his way through school, found he had only one thin dime left, and he was hungry.

He decided he would ask for a meal at the next house. However, he lost his nerve when a lovely young woman opened the door.

Instead of a meal he asked for a drink of water. She thought he looked hungry so brought him a large glass of milk. He drank it so slowly, and then asked, "How much do I owe you?"

"You don't owe me anything," she replied. "Mother has taught us never to accept pay for a kindness."

He said ... "Then I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

As Howard Kelly left that house, he not only felt stronger physically, but his faith in God and man was strong also. He had been ready to give up and quit..

Many year's later that same young woman became critically ill. The local doctors were baffled. They finally sent her to the big city, where they called in specialists to study her rare disease.

Dr. Howard Kelly was called in for the consultation. When he heard the name of the town she came from, a strange light filled his eyes.

Immediately he rose and went down the hall of the hospital to her room.

Dressed in his doctor's gown he went in to see her. He recognized her at once.

He went back to the consultation room determined to do his best to save her life. From that day he gave special attention to her case.

After a long struggle, the battle was won.

Dr. Kelly requested the business office to pass the final bill to him for approval. He looked at it, then wrote something on the edge and the bill was sent to her room. She feared to open it, for she was sure it would take the rest of her life to pay for it all. Finally she looked, and something caught her attention on the side of the bill. Tears of joy flooded her eyes as she read the words ..
"Paid in full with one glass of milk"

(Signed) Dr. Howard Kelly.

There's a saying which goes something like this: Bread cast on the waters comes back to you. The good deed you do today may benefit you or someone you love at the least expected time. If you never see the deed again at least you will have made the world a better place - And, after all, isn't that what life is all about?!

Now you have two choices.

1. You can send this page on and spread a positive message.

2. Or ignore it and pretend it never touched your heart

The hardest thing to learn in life is which bridge to cross and which -- To burn

Satsang Swamiji's Offer of Job

Satsang Swamiji's Offer of Job

Swamiji's Offer of Job
By M. R. Sanjeev
I am a devotee of H. H. Radhakrishna Swamiji since childhood. It is indeed a
great privilege which is only due to merits of my previous births that I was
associated with this "great God" who existed amidst us in flesh and blood. I
have followed his instructions to chant 'Vishnu Sahasra Namam' and this has
protected me as a shield.

After my matriculation, I underwent Industrial Apprentice Training and was
employed in a private factory. Soon by Sainath Swamiji's grace, I got a job
in Government service. I was posted at Holenarasipur as an Instructor in the
Industrial Training Institute there. With the blessings of Swamiji and Sai
Baba, I reported for duty.

For three months there was no problem. Suddenly I was told that some persons
have filed a writ petition in the High Court challenging our appointments.
While I was happy all along that I got a Government job without any
influence or bribe but by the grace of Sai Baba and Swamiji, this
information was a bolt from the blue.

I do not know how many times I have repeated Vishnu Sahasra Namam and
remembered Swamiji on this dreadful day. Ultimately I left it to Sai and
Swamiji that let no circumstance be changed but change my attitude to
receive everything in a spirit of surrender. Then I slept off. I had a dream
that night. I was standing in front of a Raghavendra Mutt. Two old men were
singing bhajans. While one said 'SADGURUNATH', the other said SAINATH. Then
they switched over, to SATCHI DAN AN DA and SAI PADA-NANDA. As I heard the
name 'SAIPADANANDA' I offered my pranams to them. They blessed me and told
me that I need not worry about losing my job. Then the dream ended.

True to the indication given in my dream, I was continued in my appointment.
When Sai Baba and Swamiji are protecting me in every moment of my life, why
should I at all worry?

Satsang Baba's Grace on Me

Satsang Baba's Grace on Me

Baba's Grace on Me
By GAYATHRI S. BELLUR
HUMILITY - BABA'S OMNIPRESENCE
On one occasion when Hemad Pant (Anna Saheb Dabolkar) came to him, there was
in the fold of his coat some channa, that is, fried grains, and it fell from
his coat; and people were joking at him. That was a day of fair at Shirdi,
and Dabolkar had perhaps been to the fair. Baba wanting to have a joke at
him, said, "Oh! This channa shows that he is in the habit of eating things
all by himself without sharing it with others." Dabolkar was much upset and
he protested that he had no such habit. But how the channa got into his
dress, he could not explain. Then Baba made further use of the occasion and
told him, ‘when you eat, do you give things to me? Am I not always by your
side’, thus impressing on him a very valuable lesson that Baba was present
everywhere and that they should first offer their food to him as their
Gurudeva, before taking their food. This is a sacred lesson and this
teaching is divine. But it came out of Baba's humor and fun poked at Anna
Saheb Dabolkar.

Sri Sai Baba is everywhere present
This incident occurred some years ago during my stay in Bandra West in
Mumbai. I had gone on a vacation to my cousin's place at East Muland. One
day, my cousins wanted to go to Muland West for shopping and insisted that
we cross the railway track, as it is of a short distance. Somehow I was
against it and suggested that we take the over bridge. They laughed at me
and finally we decided to cross the railway line.

As we were crossing the railway track, my right ankle was caught between the
fish plates and the Guard, being unaware, was
tightening the lever. A train was about to leave from the same track. I did
not lose my presence of mind and started praying to Sai Baba for relief. I
knew He would certainly save me.

Just then a crowd collected and one of them ran to the Guard who was at a
distance to inform him what has happened. The Guard loosened the lever and
my right ankle was freed.

When we returned home the right foot had developed a big swelling. I could
only limp and the pain was terrible. My cousin's parents were shocked. They
wanted to take me to an Orthopedic Surgeon then and there. I consoled them
by saying that Sai Baba takes care of me and 'Udhi' alone would bring down
the swelling.

I budged to their insistence on going to a Doctor. An X-ray was taken. The
Doctor said that there was no fracture and it was only a contusion. I became
all right in a couple of days time.

I think of that incident and gratefully bow to Sai Baba for saving me from a
ghastly accident. Otherwise, I would not be standing on my two feet today.
When I sleep, O Lord Sainath, close my eyes with your blessed hands, and let
me dream of Thy vision-Thy vision alone. When I live, let me walk in Thy
image. When I die, let my last words be: "O Lord, how grateful I am for your
gifts."

Let me close this with a poem;

"When the great External Auditor my book of life receives, And He checks the
daily entries, that are written on the leaves; May He find the accounts in
order and no need for fear or shame, But a credit carried forward to the
glory of His name."
Lord Sainath – I owe you an irreparable debt of gratitude.
While performing the Japa, the Sadhana should dwell on the meaning of these
Divine Names, and should believe that the all pervading divinity has
appeared before him in the form of the Name. This gives ineffable joy and
peace of mind. Or else the Sadhana should keep his mind fixed on the Divine
Form of the Lord-His Ishta Deva.
