Satsang Thought for the day

There once was a happy monkey wandering the jungle, eating
delicious fruit when hungry, and resting when tired. One day
he came upon a house, where he saw a bowl of the most
beautiful apples. He took one in each hand and ran back into
the forest. He sniffed the apples and smelled nothing. He tried
to eat them, but hurt his teeth. They were made of wood, but
they were beautiful, and when the other monkeys saw them,
he held onto them even tighter. He admired his new possessions
proudly as he wandered the jungle. They glistened red in the
sun, and seemed perfect to him. He became so attached to
them, that he didn't even notice his hunger at first.
A fruit tree reminded him, but he felt the apples in his hands.

He couldn't bear to set them down to reach for the fruit. In fact,
he couldn't relax, either, if he was to defend his apples. A proud,
but less happy monkey continued to walk along the forest trails.
The apples became heavier, and the poor little monkey thought

about leaving them behind. He was tired, hungry, and he couldn't
climb trees or collect fruit with his hands full. What if he just let
go? Letting go of such valuable things seemed crazy, but what
else could he do? He was so tired. Seeing the next fruit tree,
and smelling it's fruit was enough. He dropped the wooden apples
and reached up for his meal. He was happy again.

Letting Go Of Wooden Apples
Like that little monkey, we sometimes carry things that seem too
valuable to let go. A man carries an image of himself as "productive"
- carries it like a shiny wooden apple. But in reality, his busyness
leaves him tired, and hungry for a better life. Still, letting go seems
crazy. Even his worries are sacred apples - they prove he's "doing
everything he can." He holds onto them compulsively. This is a hard
thing to see. We identify so strongly with our things ,even feeling pain
when our cars are dented. How much more powerfully do we identify
with our beliefs and self-ideas? Yet they don't always feed our souls,
do they? And we become tired of defending them. How else could the
story end? The monkey might be found dead of hunger, under a
beautiful tree, with fruit within reach, but still grasping his wooden
apples. I chose to end it with him letting go, because only with open
hands can we receive.

Jai Sai Ram
Leelas of Baba at Chandigarh were more
or less the same. There are two photos on the wall in
the room where the mandir is. From both the photos,
Udi started oozing from Monday itself. Clear words
"OM" "RAM" and 'SHAM" were there with Udi. In the
mandir also "OM" "RAM" and 'SHAM" were there on the
photo from Monday itself. Lots of Udi also oozed from
the Statue. As it was not expected that Udi will start
oozing so early, no paper was placed below the Statue
and photo and Udi fell on the cloth and it became
difficult to collect the Udi on the night of Thursday.
I have taken the video clipping of it. As it is 3.5 MB
(57 sec.) file I am not attaching with the letter and
would rather send to the devotees, who desires to see
it. It was Independence Day in India on Tuesday the
15th August and Sri Krishna Janma Ashtmi on Wednesday
the 16th August. Krishna, another roop of Baba.

Following devotees, participated in
absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani by
reciting Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places. The list
is sorted as per their email ids. However Mrs. Gupta
prayed for all the devotees. We include only those
devotees in the list, who themselves recite or read
Sri Sai Amrit Vani at their places. The names of the
devotees "for prayer", are prayed for, but not
included in the list. Kindly mention clearly, against
each devotee's name that he/she will recite or read or
listen to Sri Sai Amrit Vani, or only for prayers,
Please also give the name of the place.

We could see the following Leelas this
Thursday the 17th Aug at Chandigarh.

1. Udi started appearing and oozing from the two
photos on the wall from Monday morning. Hindi words
'RAM' and 'SHAM' 'OM' and Trishool were formed with
Udi. Hindi words 'RAM' and 'SHAM' 'OM' were also
formed on the photo in the mandir and Udi started
oozing and falling from the Statue from Manday itself.

2. There was no honey from any photo or statue.
3. Lap of Mrs. Gupta was filled with Udi during the
prayers. Udi was there between the falls of the Sari.
4. As soon as the Bhog was offered and placed before
Baba, it was duly accepted by Baba. There was Kheer
and Kulchey - Matra in the Bhog. Soon piece of Kulcha
and Matra was there on the lips of Baba ( Statue as
well as the photo). Piece from the photo disappeared
after some time but on the statue, it remained for
quite some time.
5. Udi was found sprinkled in the closed bags of
Kulchey and on the top of bag one Kulcha was half.
6. Presence of Baba during the recitation of Sai Amrit
Vani was very strong.

Jai Sai Ram

Sri Sai Amrit Vani was started
exactly at 11 AM and finished by 12 Noon followed by
brief Meditation and the prayer, Prayan from Sai
Satcharitra.

Following listed devotees participated in
the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani ( in absentia)
and have either recited or read or listened Sri Sai
Amrit Vani at their places. Other devotees were also
prayed for but their names have not been listed.

Satsang Chapter 36 :Sri_Sai_Sat_Charitra_Concise(Version)

Om Shree Ganeshaya Namah
Om Sai Ram
Chapter 36:::
Gentlemen from Goa, Mrs. Aurangabadar.

Two gentlemen from Goa came to masjid. When Baba sought
dakshina from one person he refused the dakshina volunteered
by the other. Then he said that once he was very poor and prayed
to God that if he got a job he would give Him the salary of the first
month. He got a job for Rs. 15 and gradually it rose to Rs. 700.
But he forgot the vow and as per his karma he came to masjid and
the masjid mai asked for her money. Then he said another story
as if it was his own, "I was staying once in a mansion by the
seashore. The man in the house stole the Rs. 30000 I had. I was
then lying wailing in the portico of the mansion for fifteen days.
One fakir came along and told me to pray to a Saint and take a
vow to forego one food item of which I was very fond of until the
lost money was restored. I prayed to that Saint and eschewed
taking rice. The thief brought back the money in full. When I
came to the steamer, which was full, the peon there who was
unknown to me told the ship mater that I was his relative and
got me aboard. Then I reached the land, boarded the train and
came to the Masjid.'
While taking food Shama told the gentleman that Baba never left
Shirdi and never possessed Rs. 30,000 and all the talk meant
nothing to them. Then the two gentlmen with tears said that the
two stories pertained to their own life and it was unbelievable that
Baba knew every nuance of the events. Aurangabadar was not
blessed with children in his 27 years of married life and his wife
pleaded to Shama to talk to Baba. After repeated pleas from
Shama, Baba ordered the coconut brought by the lady be broke
and directing that half be given to her & said that in twelve months
from thence she would bear a child. Shama who had absolute
faith in Baba swore: "Mother, If you do not beget a child in twelve
months, I will break a coconut on the head of this God and drive
Him away from this masjid. Let me not be called Shama.' In
twelve months time the lady delivered a child and the grateful
parents donated Rs. 500 to build a shed for the horse
'Shyamakarna'.

Jai Sai Ram

Following devotees, participated in
absencia in the recitation of Sri Sai Amrit Vani by

is sorted as per their email ids.

There was no special Sai Leela this
Thursday the 10th Aug , Just the normal ones, which
are listed below.

1. Udi started appearing and oozing from the five
photos on the walls from Tuesday morning. Hindi words
'RAM' and 'SHAM' 'OM' and Trishool were clear. On
Wednesday Udi started to fall from the photos on the
walls and also in the mandir. As it was Raksha Bandhan
it also appeared that Baba is having something with
Udi, around His wrist.
2. There was no honey from any photo or statue.
3. There was only in the Bhiksha Patra in one photo.
4. There was lot of Water from the Charans this week
also. This water was collected in the Thali. The
taste of water was similar to gulab jal and kewara.
After Sai Amrit Vani, this water was given to the
needy devotees and again the Thali was filled with
water. This water was taken out of Thali 3-4 time
throughout the day and was given to devotees till
evening.
5. Lap of Mrs. Gupta was filled with Udi during the
prayers. She feels very light when Udi came in her
lap.
6. As soon as the Bhog was offered, it was duly
accepted by Baba and after the Sri Sai Amrit Vani we
noticed that the box, which was placed before HIM
was half empty with eaten and partly remained pieces
of items in the box, Part of Bhog was on the lips of
many photos and statue of Baba. These parts of the
remains in the box were given to the devotees who
offered that item of bhog to Baba.
7. All the boxes of Bhog which were kept on the table
were blessed with Udi,
8. Many devotees felt the presence of Baba during the
recitation of Sai Amrit Vani in different ways.
9. The Charnamrit, the water in which Baba took the
bath in the morning was also sweet as if some honey
has been mixed into it.
10. Statue, photos and papers placed before Baba were
blessed by Baba in no time.

Jai Sai Ram

Sri Sai Amrit Vani was started
exactly at 11:04 AM and Noon Aartee exactly at 12:00
Hrs. followed by brief Meditation and the prayer,
Prayan of one Chapter from Sai Satcharitra. This time
Chapter 5 was read. But Mrs. Gupta could read it only
half as she was not feeling well. In the morning she
had some hot words exchanged with our top floor
neighbors, who throws garbage from the top and this
time the garbage fell on her head. Mrs Gupta also
fainted on the road and was brought inside home on
the chair. But she decided not to skip the recitation
of Sri Sai Amrit Vani. Matter has been reported to the
